Yvette was shocked. She didn't even think she would return. Why would she of all people return after this many years? Yvette only stopped counting after nearly 10 years.
"You know you old hag! I think I am doing great for myself!" Yvette snaps at the woman in her doorway.
"Be as angry as you want, you fossil. I know for sure that you have missed me," the woman said as she leaned on the living room doorframe, creaks being heard under her weight.
"You may think that but that really isn't true anymore. It has been far too long for me to care about you or your whereabouts. You can crawl back into the hole you came from," Yvette snarls, sitting in her chair, trying to not pay her uninvited guest any attention. Seeing as it only makes her angry thinking about what happened.
This woman thought she could stroll back into Yvette's home, the place she had for centuries like there weren't years upon years between their last talk and their current encounter. Yvette is still angry over what happened all those years ago, her friend's sudden disappearance, and the fact that she didn't hear a single word, from anyone about her friend. Yet she showed up unannounced, unscathed, and just as she used to be. It is both refreshing and confusing. Putting Yvette in between a rock and a hard place, not knowing how to feel about everything.
Yvette sits back in her chair, lifting her cat Violet from her lap before she sets her on the floor, watching as Violet walks away without a care in the world. She then turns to look at the witch who is in her doorway. She has classic black, long-length robes, and underneath she has a light blue shirt of some sort, as well as a pendant across her neck. The pendant isn't anything special, and it contains a silver-lined stone, which glows a light blue and pulses slightly, reminding Yvette of the sea, as it moves back and forth.
Yvette sighed, looking up at the witch before saying, "What brings you here? Because coming back here after all this time is nearly out of character for you... Faye." She spits out Faye's name, obviously agitated over the large amount of time the two spent away from each other, who can blame her?
"You know, I have asked myself that time and time again when sitting at that doorway, I just can't seem to come up with an answer," Faye replied, moving off of the door frame, crossing her arms in front of her chest.
"So why come back now of all times Faye!! It's been well over a decade! But you decide to show up in my doorway now! Never wanting to call! Text! Or even know if I am okay!" screamed Yvette. At this point, she got up from her chair, angry, infuriated, confused, and worried.
Yvette slowly walks forward, tears slowly forming in her eyes, making her purple eyes shine and glitter in the sunlight. "I thought for the longest time that you were dead! Do you know what does to a person like me Faye!" she cried. Now lunging forward to Faye, and embracing her with a hug.
"Oh Yvette, you sweet bug," Faye sighs, returning the embrace that Yvette has trapped her in. "You know, I could've only dreamed of returning for quite a while, and now that I have, I regret absolutely nothing about it.
"Shut up you," Yvette mumbled to Faye, tilting her head back slightly, revealing her tear-stained face, and the watermarks that trailed down Faye's shirt.
"Y'know, I think I am alright with that, as long as we are able to sit down and catch up," Faye ends up breaking the hug and moving over to the couch, opening her arms, and letting Yvette sit in her lap.
Yvette walks over and accepts Faye's offer, letting Faye wrap her arms around her, and enveloping her in warmth. Both of them sit on the couch, sitting, relaxing, and talking the night away, the moon shines through the window, painting the two in a relaxing glow of white, allowing them to enjoy each others company after years upon years apart.
