The siblings all arrived at the entrance at the same time. They were waiting for their dad to pick them up.
Claire's brothers were discussing something when she and Sam arrived. Claire wasn't really interested but Sam went to join in.
She was just lost in thought thinking about the last few days and how it all changed with just a dream. From being a student to a survivor in the apocalypse.
There are so many things that they have to get ready before the end. Even with a well thought out list it's not guaranteed that they will be ready.
Claire was off to the side while her brother was talking in the middle of the hall.
Sam was telling his brothers about how he and Claire told Sunny, Levi and the nurse Ms. May about the end. He even mentioned how he got her number. For some reason he felt proud that he got her number.
Kevin just shakes his head, "The only reason you have her number is because she understands the situation. If you didn't have proof, she would have had our parents send you to be counseled."
"So, what." Sam didn't give up, it was important.
Johnathan notices they were goofing off, so he went to talk to Claire. "Dear little sister, could you go with me and Kevin to talk with the guys at the auto shop?"
"Do you need help from me to convince them or something?" Claire tilted her head as she answered him back with a question.
Johnathan gave a nod, "Yes."
"Does it have to be me? Can it be Sam instead. I would like to go with our parent to continue making a list of things to buy to send to the country house."
With a shake of his head, "I would rather it be you instead. Sam isn't nearly as reliable as you are besides you can show off your skills on the computer when your there."
Claire put her hand to her chin to think about it. On one hand it's true that she is more reasonable than Sam is. On the other she knows that helping mom prepare is also important.
He interrupted her thoughts, "The list won't run away, and Sam can help with that along with Kevin and dad. You and I can go talk with the guys."
"They should be able to hook us up with a sturdier vehicle than the current car that dad is driving, and we wouldn't have to pay as long as they knew the situation."
By the time Johnathan was done talking he was looking at Claire with hope in his eyes as he really wanted her to go instead. Knowing that he was mostly giving excuses and he just wanted Claire to go with him to show off to his friends.
"I guess I could go with you." Claire went ahead and agreed since this is her big brother.
"Thanks, I'll tell dad that he could drop us off at the shop. While we're at it after we get done talking we could go to the supermarket on the other street to pick up somethings."
Claire gave a nod, "Okay."
While they were talking, their father walked in to pick them up. With a wave, "I'm here, let's go."
He went to talk to the secretary in the schools office to tell them he is here to pick them up.
Everyone else walked to the car with Johnathan in the front passenger seat, the others went to the back.
Sam grumbled under his breath, "I wanted to sit in front. Why does he get to sit there? He didn't even call shotgun."
Claire heard what he said and gave him an eyeroll, "Why can't big brother sit there? Besides he has something to talk about with dad."
Their father finished up signing them out after asking a few more questions to the secretary. Once he was in the driver seat Johnathan started talking to him.
"Dad could you drop me and Claire off at the auto shop so we can talk to the guys to warn them." Johnathan asked nervously as he knows that he may not because Claire would be going with him.
"If not could we all go instead. We could go home to pick mom up and we could all go. Me, Claire, and you could talk to the guys and the others could pick up somethings from the store."
Claire nodded her head hearing what her brother said. It didn't even matter that no one else was paying attention to her anyway.
Her dad had a serious look on his face. Think really hard on whether or not he should do that latter. For sure, the first option wasn't going to be considered as they don't know how dangerous outside is right now.
A minute came and went her dad opened his mouth, "Let's go pick up your mother. She wouldn't be happy if we went shopping without her."
With a frown he turned to everyone else in the car, "We we go out later make you have your phones with you at all times. We will keep sending updates to one another every hour to make sure we all are okay."
Their dad wasn't done nagging as he started the car to head home.
He kept giving more rules to follow when they go out.
By the time they finally got home they felt like their ears would fall off. When their dad gets worried sometimes he just wouldn't stop talking (nagging).
This only ever happens when he worries alot.
