Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Betrayal

As the group of contestants continued through the trials, they encountered even more challenges. Some were natural, like crossing a raging river or scaling a steep cliff, while others were artificial, like a labyrinth that seemed to have no end.

Despite the obstacles, Zhang Wei and his group persevered, relying on their skills and teamwork to overcome every challenge that came their way. They were a tight-knit group, and they had come to trust each other implicitly.

However, that trust was soon put to the test.

One night, as they were resting in a makeshift campsite, Zhang Wei overheard a conversation between two of his teammates. They were plotting to betray the rest of the group, to eliminate them one by one and ensure their own victory in the competition.

Zhang Wei was shocked and saddened by what he heard. He had thought that he could trust his teammates, but now he realized that he couldn't let his guard down for a second.

He knew that he had to act fast. He quietly woke up the other members of the group and told them what he had overheard. They were just as shocked as he was.

"What do we do?" one of them asked.

"We have to confront them," Zhang Wei said. "We can't let them get away with this."

The group approached the two traitors, who were caught off guard by the sudden confrontation.

"We know what you're planning," Zhang Wei said, his voice cold and steady. "We won't let you get away with it."

The traitors tried to deny it at first, but eventually, they admitted to their plan. They had grown desperate, they said, and they thought that they could only win if they eliminated the competition.

Zhang Wei and his group were appalled by their behavior. They had come to the competition to prove themselves as cultivators, not to resort to treachery and deceit.

In the end, the traitors were expelled from the competition, and Zhang Wei and his group continued on their journey. The incident had shaken them, but it had also made them stronger. They realized that they couldn't take anything for granted and that they had to stay vigilant at all times.

As they moved on to the next stage of the competition, Zhang Wei knew that the challenges would only get tougher. But he was more determined than ever to see it through to the end, to prove himself as a true cultivator and to show that he could overcome any obstacle, no matter how great.
