Yahweh, Adam, and Kori sat together, talking about everything, for hours. Yahweh told Kori of Azathoth, Sin, Darkness, and Lucifer; and why he had to banish him and his followers from the Garden. He re-iterated and explained that HE is God, and there are NONE above him.
"In order to remind you, so you won't forget… I will write my laws into your heart. Because of this, you will gain mercy, but if you break our covenant then your punishment will be worse than you could imagine."
Yahweh lowered His hands and pointed to each of their chests. A radiant white light shot from His fingers, like an X-ray, and He carved His laws into their hearts; to help them remember His voice, always.
Kori, wiping the tears from her eyes, and sitting up, when Yahweh stopped talking, asked him just one question, at first.
"What does Azathoth have to do with ANY of this? You said he was asleep."
Yahweh sighed, and pushed the hair out of His face, "Azathoth IS asleep. However, that doesn't mean he doesn't still affect this world. That creature you two fought against; It's called a Daemon; A Corrupted Spirit, Possessed by Darkness.
They can take on the form of other beings, which they use to manipulate and torture their targets. You see, when Azathoth dreams, from time to time, his massive power will reach out into the new world and make small changes, influence evil, spread darkness. It's rare, but it happens."
He paused for a moment, sighing heavily. "And it seems that is exactly what happened here. Somehow, Lucifer fell to the influence of darkness. He let his arrogance get ahead of him, he thought himself to be invincible. And he blamed humanity for HIS shortcomings."
A moment of silence passed, and Adam's hand gently grasped Kori's and squeezed it. His face was badly beaten, bleeding, and he looked slightly dazed. He was bruised and tired, and yet he still managed to look at her, love, and smile.
All the feelings he had of inadequacy, of anger, and misunderstanding were all gone. He looked at Kori with fresh eyes, and he could see her beauty and see her for what she was. In addition, he held anger in his heart against Lucifer and the Fallen, and all of these emotions manifested themselves as Adam began to just cry.
Kori held him in silence, and God let His Light shine upon them, for what seemed like hours, all the way through the night, and into the next day. When the sun rose, they began to talk once again.
"And Lilith… why did you banish her?" Adam said in a croaky voice, to Yahweh; who responded.
"I had to remove her and the children from the Garden. The influence of the fruit of Life, and the manipulations of Lucifer corrupted her soul, allowing darkness to enter her, and change her. Luckily, when she broke our covenant she broke her connection to you; before you too, were infected with her darkness. The children were not so lucky…"
Yahweh brought Adam over to a small pool of water and created images in it with a wave of his hand.
(The children OOH'd and AHH'd at this, and Moses' Grandson, Shebuel, said, "That looks like your blessing, Papa Ezrae!" Ezrae chuckled and nodded, continuing the story.")
In the pool of water, Adam could see Lilith, and his children, and what they had become.
She was still beautiful, but the top half of her face was covered in black armor. She had large black and purple wings, and a blank expression in what could be seen of her face. She had horns and looked like the thing that Adam had fought. He gasped and felt his knees go weak, as he let them go and kneeled to the ground.
He shed tears when he saw what had become of his children. They had turned into monsters, and had grown scales, fur, fangs, claws, and horns. They didn't seem to talk, just drag their knuckles, do what Lilith tells them, and attack things. Adam couldn't believe what he was seeing.
On top of the sadness he felt, he also felt anger, wrath, and a deep-seated need for Justice. Kori walked up behind him and put a hand on his shoulder.
Crouching down next to him, she put her head on his other shoulder and said, "I'm sorry, my love… I can feel your anger, your hurt, and your sadness; but I can also feel your determination…" She kissed him on the cheek, and wrapped her arms around him.
Adam looked at her and kissed her, wiping the tears from his eyes and managing a weak smile. He looked over to Yahweh and said, "That first… Daemon, as you called it, was just the beginning wasn't it? We're in for a lot more aren't we?"
God sighed, and sat on the ground next to Adam and Kori. He nodded solemnly, "It seems that Azathoth… has been dreaming of War. Kori, I heard every single one of your prayers, but I could not answer; I was focused solely on ensuring Azathoth was contained and asleep, while allowing Adam to heal in the whirlpool.
I'm sorry this caused you so much distress. However, I was able to look into Azathoth's mind, and see that he was able to break free from his mental barrier, and was using Lucifer as a pawn. He took hold of Lucifer's weakness, his hurt and hatred toward humanity, and exploited it…"
Adam and Kori were listening intently to everything Yahweh was telling them, and Kori held on tight to Adam, out of fear and intrigue. He continued speaking.
"I saw his plans, and he plans to use Lucifer and his followers to wage war against Eden. While we were talking, I checked on the Guardian of the Entrance to Eden, and he is dead.
He has been replaced, and we are preparing for a war… The Fallen leading a War against their God… How my poor children are lost…"
God lowered his head and silently wept over the loss of his children, and emotion and empathy resonated deep within Adam, as he stood to his feet.
"Then we fight. We stand up, and we fight for what's ours. Humanity is not trash, to be thrown in the wind, and treated like dirt. And I'm still angry about how Lucifer treated me. Please, Father… Let us fight with you."
While Adam had talked, his voice had gotten louder, and more excited, and from behind him he heard a hearty chuckle. He spun on his heels, with his fists up, ready to fight, as a figure he recognized began to walk toward him.
"Hello Adam, how is my favorite little human doing? Hello Kori! You're looking as beautiful as ever. Ahhh, and of course, Hello, Father! I hear it's time to fight?"
