Mabel POV
My hands started trembling badly immediately the fire extinguisher dropped from my hands.
I don't know whether I was making the right decision by saving the life of this woman.
What if she's just a lookalike, and I needed the money so badly and urgently as well.
But anyways, since I have already taken this bold step, I have no other option than to finish what I have already started because I am very sure that Rachel was going to rat me out if I ever let her of here.
I removed her wedding ring and wore it on Rachel, then I removed Rachel clothing and shoes then swapped them with that of the woman, then I accessed Rachel and removed things from her that might blow up my cover.
I brought out a wheelchair, placed the lady on it, then carried Rachel and placed her on the bed.
I fell to the ground on my knees, and cried my heart out, I wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing, am sorry Rachel for sacrificing you, I just can't believe that am sacrificing Rachel for this woman, but I have to, I just can't stand and watch Rachel take an innocent life.
We were ordered to set the place on fire, so I opened the methylated spirits that we came with and spread it round the whole room, I made sure that everything was properly soaked, then I lit up the room and quickly ran out of the room and locked the door.
Rachel am so sorry, that was all that was on my mind throughout the ride on the elevator. Once I got out of the elevator, immediately I ran to the janitors room and locked the door and waited for about 30 minutes because I was sure that by that time, everywhere would have been on fire.
Once the 30 minutes were up, I ran out of the janitors room and pressed the button for the fire alarm, dear God please forgive me.
Everyone were struggling to get out of the hospital on time, patients who can't work on their own were wheeled out, people could be seen coming from the elevator, and smoke had already engulfed everywhere. Everywhere was in total chaos as everyone were panicking and running out of the building.
On my way out I bumped into Dr. Eric "Sir" I called.
"Yes, Mrs. Mabel, where on earth are you going with this young lady?" He asked me.
"Ermm, well sir, it's a long story, we are in great need of your help inorder for us to escape from here, when we get to a more safer place, I promise to tell you everything in details" I pleaded with him.
By this time, we had already ran to the parking lot.
The fire fighters were around and were seriously battling with the fire as it had grown very huge.
Patients could be seen running out, the weak ones who couldn't run properly were being carried and some wheeled out hurriedly.
Rachel, wherever you are right now, please forgive me, I just can't allow you to take an innocent life, am sorry.
As soon as we got into the car, he drove us out as fast as he could to his abode.
I must say, his house is very big and looks really classy, I wouldn't blame him though, he is the chief doctor of the hospital, well that's not why am here.
But I just couldn't stop myself from wondering why a very successful man such as him is still not married, he doesn't even have a girlfriend. Well that's totally none of my business.
Eric POV
I welcomed Mrs. Mabel into my home, while I carried the unconscious woman in bridal style and took her to one of the rooms upstairs.
After making sure that she was comfortable, I headed downstairs to meet Mrs. Mabel who was rubbing her palms against her thighs nervously.
I wonder what exactly might had happened that would warranty her leaving the hospital with a patient without the consent of the family.
"Well, Mrs. Mabel, you're welcome to my home" I said immediately I reached the living room and sat beside her.
"Uhmm, thank you doctor, it's my absolute pleasure" She replied.
"And I hope that you're very comfortable?" I asked her.
"Yes doctor, very" She responded.
"Erm, as I had earlier asked you, what were you doing with that lady? Because I can vividly remember that she's my patient, what if her family comes looking for her?" I asked her, because I don't know whatever it was that she was thinking before she pulled such an act.
"Well doctor, I told you that I was going to tell you everything when we get to a more safer place, we this was actually how it started" She breathed in as she started explaining everything to me.
By the time she had finished explaining, my mouth was already hung wide open, I can't actually believe that a human being can be this wicked and callous.
"Well, Mrs. Mabel, I don't know whatever it may be that might have stopped you from killing that woman, but am very grateful to you for not carrying it out, thank you very much" I thanked her with every sincerity in my heart.
"Am happy that I didn't do it and I was able to save her life" She replied.
Just then, the ringtone of her phone interrupted me, as soon as she saw the caller Id, she looked scared as hell, I stared at her suspiciously, then she mouthed 'Its the lady that ordered me to kill her'.
My eyes widened in shock, but I told her to pick the call and put it on recording.
"Granny, you are very useful, I must say, am seeing the news right now and it was stated that she was burnt beyond recognition and everything points out to be her, you don't know how happy I am right now" She said and laughed out loud, well I was able to her cause it was in loud speaker.
"Ma'am, am happy to have done as you had wanted, and for the smooth running of the plan, it has been my pleasure working with you" Mrs. Mabel replied.
"I have transferred both you and Rachel's money to your account, you both can share it, I tripled the amount, you guys should leave this environment for the time being, I would call you when next I need you" She ordered.
Her voice sounds awfully familiar but I can't exactly pinpoint where I had heard it before.
"Yes ma'am, no problem" Mrs. Mabel responded.
The lady laughed out loud before disconnecting the call, then the recording stopped.
Mrs. Mabel released her breath in relief "Sir, I have been having our calls on tape since a these while" She said as she played the recordings to my hearing.
I was shocked and said "Mrs. Mabel as it all looks now, this country is no longer safe for any of us, we will be leaving for Europe first thing tomorrow morning, because am now involved in this mess, so we staying here will only put our lives in more danger" I told her.
"Yes sir, you're correct, but before we leave, I need to get some few things from my house" She said.
"Are they important? I asked her.
"Yes sir, very important" She replied.
"Then I am going to take there, please make sure to keep that memory chip in a very safe place cause that's our only piece of evidence against that woman" I told her.
"Yes sir, I promise to keep it well" She replied.

We went out to the parking lot but not after making sure that the lady upstairs was okay.
I drove Mrs. Mabel to her house and she quickly came down from the car, went into the house.
I had already waited for her for about 20 minutes with 1 huge and 1 medium-sized suitcases. I helped her in putting them into the booth and I must say they were quite heavy, then I entered the car and zoomed off.
I had already made preparations for it to be a private flight, and I had also ordered them to set up some medical equipments that would be necessary for the lady during the flight.
When we got home, I went to her room and gave her a shot of injection and connected a drip to her vein, after making sure that she was responding well to treatment even though still in coma, I left to my room to pack the stuffs that I might need for the trip.
Leonard POV
Immediately I got home, that I did was to go to Caroline's room but the damned door was locked, who the heck locked this door, I need to get all those files.
"What do you think that you are trying to do?" I heard Scarlett's voice, why has this girl decided to become a thorn in my flesh, why?
"Nothing, this is my wife's room and I have the right to it" I replied.
"So now she's your wife, since when have you considered her as your wife? Since when? Please just respect and gently and quietly go back to your room before I lose my cool, I may be a kid but don't you dare underestimate me and what I can do" She threatened while looking at me angrily, I sighed in defeat and left.
I got to my room and called Betty "What about those files?" She asked.
"Scarlett has refused me entrance into her mother's room" I replied.
"What!! Leonard, can you listen to yourself speak? A little child refused you entrance into that room, can't you put her in her place for crying out loud, she's just eight, baby, you know that you promised me to give me all of Caroline's properties including the inheritance that her father left for her" Betty whined.
"I know but Scarlett can be quite hard to handle, I promised you and I am going to give it to you" I assured her.
"Better" She responded.
Scarlett POV
I went downstairs and flopped myself on the couch, then I took the remote control and switched on the television, I was about switching it from the news channel to kiddies network when a headline caught my eyes.
'PATROSE HOSPITAL ON FIRE, 10 DEAD, 50 INJURED'
Immediately I read it, the remote control fell from my hands and I screamed "NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" It not true, it can't be true.
"What is it? Why were you screaming as if you saw a ghost or something?" Dad asked.
"Look at the TV and the headlines, can't you see, please take me to the hospital now!!!" I shouted in tears.
"No, I can't, I have more important things to do, if you really wanna go, then go, no one is stopping you" I looked at him in disbelief immediately those words came out of his mouth.
"Read my lips Leonard, you're going to pay, you will pay for all what you did to mom and I, I will make sure that you feel all the pains that my mom felt in a million folds, I promise you that" I swore then ran out and climbed my bike and rode as fast as I could to the hospital.
When I got there, the hospital was badly burnt beyond repair, I tried running into the hospital but was stopped by the police men.
"Let go of me, my mom is in there, let me go!!!" I protested as I tried running in, but their hold was too tight that I couldn't break free, just then I saw a doctor, I bit one of them hard then ran over to the doctor.
"Doctor, please, my mom, she's in ward 27, where is she?" I asked.
"Oh, she's your mom am so sorry kid" He started.
"Sorry for what, you did absolute nothing to me" I stated confusingly.
"She didn't make it out of the hospital in time, am sorry" He said as he dropped the bombshell on me.
"NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
