"Are you fleeing from a unfair life you had lost?" Agent Josh, she stirred in knowing his the uncles lap dog. Or was. The curse of enslavement was lifted. His just a guy of curses sight and knowledge.
"It's all so complicated but would you happen to have food and water?" Josh frowned and yet still took a chocolate bar from a pocket. She takes it and unsteady stood and knocked on the top. Drops the candy into the container. Josh stands and then climbs the edge of the container. Helping the kid out of there. Age difference is there, in spite the lad being maybe 15. Josh is looking 28. Setting the lad to the floor to eat the chocolate. Their turn to her with expecting her to speak answers.
"You know the man that the kid is evading yourself. You know how twisted the two sides are to each other." She knows exactly what she implies. He knew from the clothing the kid has sewed onto him and the power royalty aura has. He can also tell this kid was both a Glader and Darkwood. One the late kings eldest. The current queen has children with more appropriate choices and they are mark to be crown. The uncle is just taking care of his path to the throne and has already hatched plans to dethrone the rest. All made ruin since Trixie did something. The future isn't stable, it never had been before.
"Is there a refresh room?" Kids trying to ask for the toilet. Josh helps as he knew it was for the better. Provide new clothing that didn't stand out sorely. She altered it to fit the lad better, sewing the trousers to his waist size. Removable as modern day clothes do. She still respects privacy as the lad and Josh were dressing up in the ships toilet. Clearly the talked a lot while in there. Josh changed attitude with her.
"Clearly protecting the tome more then the prince." They are to a bed cabin with trying to sort small things like passport, "or is there something else?"
"I am a long time allies with the powers within the kid. We have a lot of history. I keep the pages clean around the letters and they cleans the writing away. It's not that simple but it's human translation enough." She hooked herself like a coat on the hooks of the back of the door. She stays crossed arms and soft stare of the floor. Her left hand wafts about as she spoke sometimes, putting gesture into emphasis, "As for the human on the outside, his carries both the power and the tome. I am lending myself to gaurd him from the tome and the things after the tome. I am respectful of my friend inside. He not doing well and there is only so much I can enact. If I meddle in breaking rules, I will not be here. You could say the kids acting bait for the ones I am really after, but I don't intend harm or interference of human affairs. But given the damned are interwoven among mages and undertakers - some actions are excused as such."
This was plenty enough as the prince speaks of what will be on the cards for his neat future. Trixie finds out with the implying meanings between these two mages; this will be Kyle. The Kyle that she promised Curiosity / Mattu to protect. It's a good thing she swooped in this time; keeping omens ahead when his not even aware he is. Or maybe the god does know, gods know human fate. Omens just couldn't really curve to her meddling too and his not exactly going to sit easy with this kid being the index holder.
Once they were resting, sleeping off the sea sickness. She was back guarding the insanity of the Ender, keeping nightmares away for the time being. As she being the sole provider of these measures. She uses her night life talking of the erased past. She explained about the world's that can't be. She laced in about the way rules over other universes handled the current situation. She told him straight as it is here in the land of dream. She warns him of using some words and that if she was to be ask something nonsensical but in relation to these dream conversations. He has to say something to put context before she replies. The sort of pass phrase that no matter the situation - she will act on dream laws. She will give him a straight lace answer or just a moment to put his head together as sometimes having a time out is enough. He hates most of her stories but its that she carries an undertone that makes him remember her dream time. That her way of words has at time enlightened enough of the matters around him. No matter how obscure the matters of dreams relates with reality. She doesn't bring him to specific places in dreams. Only really her own shadow cloak.
"I feel like I can face harsh terror." She nods as it was the ending of tonight's talk, "Why are you supporting me?"
"Putting an end on something can be as much a terrible thing to miss but a mercy for the soul that has endured to much." She softly spoke, "So many pages have crumbled away and for a while I thought it was wrong to let them. But there is purpose to lifespan and having come out from the other side of it all a few times. I appreciate laws like the one you enact. Even when the others don't carry the same eye of this value. They just don't realize how tired and spent they are. It's no forever like enders think it is. More like a recharge and change to a new format... just to begin again. Turn a new way. Symmetry and system." She looked to the waking world around them, "life can't have value without death. Death has no meaning unless life that lead it makes it so." She lifted and hung back to the coat hook. He awake staring up at the ceiling.
"Why do you keep the other dreams away?" She tilts hearing him still pondering.
"As much as they can be lovely. Some nightmares are even kind. But your veiw of the way things are removes the sugar lie that holds them. It be quiet suffering to watch them dust away." She lowered and Josh is awake now. Sitting up. He had the premonition. They soon discussed about how the god of Omens was watching over the prince and will have the undertakers in place to ease any boarder passing. Furthermore that Omens although appropriates Trixie, is afraid of her for some reason.
"Innate fear of things that aren't meant to be among us is reasonable. She part clothus and creature from beyond understanding. It makes sense that any god in protecting humans is leery." Kyle call attributes her honesty from their talks, "We missing the follower of Omens." Josh nods knowing exactly what the kid meant.
"The undertaker crest he works for has gone silent. Any that made it out are odd acting or missing hands. There isn't any good news about it all." The kid stares about the ceiling with thinking this over.
"I guess it could be worse. They arent humans. They could have new hands made and work better then a human having a prosthetic." Given air to thoughts.
They both hold for dear live as the room seems the float. The boat in free fall in choppy waves. They were on their feet as the on board sirens sound on. Being quick to throw a small few bits in pockets. She jumps into Josh's shadow, taking refugee from sea and sun. The doors slam into automatic locking to hold air in the ship and the main stairwells are stormed by other passengers. The intent to sabotage is only among the humans. Even then the sabotage to leave any unwelcomed spirit types behind. She had to lift as a mock person to pass the check points of the main exit. No one really was counting and the full ship lock up too more attention away from passengers. There isn't a soul living status left behind. There were plenty of odd acting undertaker left locked in the rooms unaware. The occasional demon that only is scrapping. The few god spirits here are of the sea. Enjoying a game of banishing spirits form the waters or dusting these uninvited.
"You have to jump into the water and swim across to the next boat!" They were pushing those not willing. Mostly the demon possessed ones that will be taken by the sea if they make contact. Josh helps Kyle. They look baffled as she went for the perfect swimmers dive. She helps them both in the current as they reach the rescue boat. A nerve wracking and often fatally cold part of this trip. The rescue boat is all mages that are possessions. She only uses her left hand pulling both Josh and Kyle on board. She even clings on to pull another in struggle. She had to get on when one the temporary bindings of bones snapped, it will make for a hard to keep human look if that snaps further. She balls up at Josh's feet, knees to face and staring over at the water from afar.
"I have assumed that your a special case." Josh looking up to how he has plus two. He he gives passports of him and Kyle, "Lady Empress, not many survive salt water."
"Piss off four eyes. I am not done anything soon. You mangled host napper." Her temper is because she in a lot of pain from the sea salt, sun light and disolving lower limbs. She has no toes for now. Her hands as stick needle thin. All the moisture was leaching out of her, beading on all surfaces like her clothus skin. Causing a magnifying glass effect, during away more intense holes.
"If you don't want to be here, you are welcome to..." She slaps away their enslaving postured to her hand. If she took the right hand they posed, they would either banish or make her seem to sale herself. It extremely important that it was her left hand that pushed away the offering.
"Leave her alone. If she wanted to leave, she wouldn't have stayed in the sea." Kyle defending her, "She is here to my will." That was enough for the mage with undertaker training. She tied by contract with the prince thus its he's entry that needed check over. She bundles tiny and focuses with her sensed to the things they can't. She was reaching her darker side into the depth of the under boat - making contact with the abyss sea life and the water monsters of the sea. She gave them offerings of peace and soul check conditions. They brought their sickly and strange to her. She finds no parasites here in the sea monsters. Just the impact of humans on a shared planet. There was some that died at sea that wish her to enact thier damned will (they died with regert, so they are shadow but the sea law is different to land ones).
"Now that everyone is accounted." Blankets are handed out. Kyle shares his with her. Huddling together. His watching the boat surface and their backs.
"Seriously?" She tongue clicks, "Will if you must." She stood up and blankets over Kyle more, "I promise I am still clinging to you." She tied a strange spell thread, "If a follower of fate tells you it's a cursed thread. You tell them it's a gift from the abyss watching you."
"Isn't anything to do with any abyss bad?" Kyle asked.
"Am I?" She posed pretending to be offended and then chuckles at his frown. She scruffed his head, "Your not wrong in many ways. I am just fixing a soul name of one the trench monsters. The water world is a whole more terror you don't need to worry about anytime soon. They tend to collaspe themselves." She casting a divine blessing over him in extra measure, "Now if one my many animals is giving you to much attention. Shake something metal rattle at them. Unless it's the snakes. Ragnar is a stubborn ass. Glare right into his eyes and hiss back." Posed like a teacher to a student. Kyle frowns at this sudden information.
"Where are you going? This is a moving boat." One the undertakers in possessed of a host.
"Visiting my neighbors of the sea." She posed herself to the boat edge, "The abyss of Noctorm has business that no four eyes undertaker of the unicorn crest to be concern for. Quit being up in my case or I will make you suffer." They backed away on surrendering hands. She jumps. Instead of landing into the water, she standing on its surface. She unnatural sank through in slow swallow instead of splash.
The underwater world was beautiful and terrifying. The surface level of creatures are living realm ones and are everything to be expected in this location of the seas. The raise of the water warriors that protect the ocean from human prying sight came to test her. Soon swimming away as she no longer human appearance. She took only the tomes of the water world's to be out. She began doing her best. This was soup checking and helping the wounded with soul damages. They been protecting the universe from threats of the unknown from the water gates. They deserved as much care to her attention as land guardian's.
Upon satisfaction, they pulled her to mean Mrs Death. The sister of life and the lover maybe married to the god of death. She rules the ocean souls that don't want to be in the tug of war between life and death. Most times there is no access to the spirit worlds from the water and once a spirit is trapped bellow a water surface, there isn't escape. Not unless a human brings them to land on that off chance as 'treasure'. The kingdom of water spirits has a new ball game of hierarchical kingdoms in competition. The one that rules between the just under surface and the last touch of sun light is mrs death. Anything in the darkness belongs to the ocean abyss and even deeper goes the trench kingdoms. The so call lost world of Alanatis. Once you in the Graveyard of Alanatis, your in the earth core (but that's going to far). The sky has layers and so does the sea. There some current drifts that are owned by the sea life. Some areas are domains of creatures beyond humanity. Some spots are lost time erased spots.
There is a bubble city of machines that was made in world War 5 (again, erased time). It was meant to be the habit of the last humans that stayed on earth. Time reverted and this never happened. But the bubble city is nested between trenchs where no human can currently reach. The domain of mrs death, she staying in the access hatch that blocks the machines from leaving and humans entering. Using her goddess mircale to jet uninvited away from the location. Really she who sets up the crused triangles like the Bermuda. There are a lot of them hidden across the sea.
"You fixed them." The goddess is in disbelief. Trixie unimpressed of the reaction. She invited herself further in correctly. Sets up a tea table and got to brewing a drink for them both. She raised packs of biscuits to have in the meantime of waiting for the goddess to get her act together or for the tea to be ready to pour. Her crystal soul stone cups are out per always and the main tea pot sparkles in the dim lights.
"Really don't know how he wants the whole thing to fall apart. My partner had gone missing. We must have had a big fight to be this separated. I don't know if I have to go save his ass or if he doesn't want my interests." She takes up her own tea cup and sips it.
"Are you still doing things he asked in promise of you?" Seeing this was love advice and is nosy of some drama in her boring isolated world.
"I am." Watching the goddess smile and drink the tea, "This fight was difficult as this time we aren't well met of our personal stuff and had often been apart more then together."
"Some relationships are like that. You don't see my husband here often." Well that was a good point but his protecting her even if he does or doesn't know where she is. This isn't distance at all as they meet up in between pocket realms in disguises. She caught them a lot in the living world at amusement entries or libraries.
"Maybe follow your instinctive feelings." Trixie stares at the goddess like she had a third eye and the goddess blankly stares back, "Maybe not entirely follow all of them." Trixie chuckles and nods at that, "Your a lady. If you think something isn't right, help. If you misjudged, you can make up for it later." She nods at this sound advice.
"Well I better go check the children I left unattended. Their aren't ours but it feel like it. If one my kids did show up, I know he definitely screwed up the between this universe and our neighbours."
"Your partner can do that?" Goddess was impressed. She shrugs in reply and takes the water gate. She sank through and follows the tug of her thread she tied to Kyle. She surfaced through a water fountain in the middle of the mall area. Her left hand pushed away a very bad demon with some bad temper away from Kyle seated at the fountain edge. She rose with the water dripping away from her.
"Hassling this child will only make me eat your soul." She darkly declared pushing away the demon inches of scrapping the floor. Her right arm shielding Kyle from seeing her form. Her mask breaking apart and some jaws unhinged. Rattling deeply in low hiss. The demon falls backwards into salt and she leans fixing her appearance. She lowered into the water. Makes a last joint lock adjustments and then sits beside Kyle in sigh.
"Your uncle is a cruel man. Putting a wanted request on the sigil panel." She wanted the post and the stamps it with her mark. This updated across many hunters and tons disburse in fear from her, "Look at you all blessed up with Omens." She light pinched Kyle's cheek, "Aborable." He got her off him and pouts. Yet he also was relieved and embarrassed.
"Your disturbing as always." Omens in raven form hissed with beak peaking her away. She amuses with this angry game to see how far omens will reveal his not godly side.
"Nah, you can't be serious? You? Your a cog ranker?"
"Mythos." She shurgs causally, "Don't bother man. You don't want my attention. Something had to gone very wrong if I am the one saving you." She sees omens is keeping it all bird no matter her attempts. She stares deep into the vessel, no God puppeting it. She softens off her tease, twirls out of the fountain. She gives the wider crowds a gaze.
"The lady that said the thread was omens fault. She ran away and this all happened." Kyle is definitely confused. She gives a blank smile and scruffed his head again. She tilts in seeing Josh and Jess. The married couple that watched from a distance. They now approached with a drink for the kid and some strong look at the bird and then at Trixie.
"So are you part god eater?" Josh asked.
"It's complicated." She rolls a purr in her voice and Josh steps protective of his wife from her, "I shall not break my vowls. If I lay one scale out of the law; I wouldn't be here. I am just a guardian spirit attached to this child, just as the raven of Omens is."
Kyle stares around confused that there a set of being not changed from the thing she did. She noticed it too and makes no fuss of this. She broadly made him stand and walk the four of them to somewhere else. Taking seat at a restaurant with an eclipse into a spirit bar. She ordered her favourite drink, a slayers delight. Those three have a meal in peace. Discussing some guesses to the sudden disappearing act of many hunters of Oath.
"Lady Empress. You haven't ordered in a while." The keeper is normal demon server soul and fits in with such place. With a ledger she paid up any accruing debts and that she trades a bunch of storage liquids. The man blinks impressed several times of the working of a cog oath. His experienced enough to have the right balance of poisons for this realms version of her cocktail. She was pleased and stirs it for it colour changes and down the whole glass in one go. Being satisfied of every last drop. She bumps her chest of some heart burn and continues reading the ledger.
"Not a bad mix. Scale 18 of the 40 drinks satisfaction." She closed the ledger and slides it back, "I take leave for now." She joined the three humans as they finished to dessert.
"Bills paid." A server states in taking the dirty plates and bowls. Faster out of her sight.
"Young Kyle here had his soul marked. His unable to be accountable in the life and death tome. So none of the low ranker hunters of Oath are allowed to touch even a hair. This fact and that he carries the index. Well he automatically supported only those of plutonium ranker. They say you are a demigod in training. But it's the books power and not yours. The darkness is not able to be scaled. You don't bother scaling when it's a duty that isn't the matter of measuring. This is also the same for me. I am someone that can't be scaled as there aren't measures for such beings like me. There are levels of laws. I break the social ones but this is to keep the important things safe. My mark is normally a curse on those that don't carry darkness. But your able to see through the darkness, so we have to shoulder our view of monsters in silence." She leaned so comfortable at the table with them.
"I think we are good enough for over sharing." She nods gentle at this and Josh watched the strange moves of the hunters in here. The dynamics drastically changed with her being around. That suddenly there was less duels, ranker fights and trade exchanges. The talk was about how the key parts of the living realm was influencing hell realm changes and the moves of angels in tasks that indirectly were improving lifespans of hidden realms. The biggest talk was the undertakers and the disappearances of demons associated with them. The human sight types suddenly cutting off from the afterlife realms, which was seen as a relief but also a worry.
Cropping up was the human news about the found mass grave of cultist under the name fallown. And the lacking information of who is to blame. She has already scooped in enough data to pin point what kingdoms had fallen and whose spies are still active. She also had insider knowledge from the nightmares while Kyle sleeps as they off duty conversation with her. Some of her old time favorite dream walkers had personal seemed her out for trades in return of this knowledge. As she is a bridge between sleeping world and waking one. Her trades aren't strictly god eaters, damned and reapers.
"Trixie. How do gods work?" She blinks a few times of scanning Josh down. He returned her gaze with displeasure of being untrusted.
"It's a loaded question. It depends on the god and their domain of power. How high up the chain we going and the among of believers they hold. Really. It's to simple of a small question to give a pin answer." Josh actually is impressed of that being her reply and it not answering his needs.
"Omens. How does omens work?" She takes a long while to put a human translation into a reply. She makes several strange left hand poses. She eventually had came to some reach and clicked fingers. She makes ice form in a web pattern. So as she speaks in metaphor example, she as trace visual aid.
"Fate spins webs. These connects are rather like people, times and places. Space relies on this web to hold itself. Events, souls and changes of droplets on the silk threads." She had quick folded two different napkins into two spider shapes. She set them on separate sides, "fate loves making these connections and strengthens the whole art as she does. But she is clumsy and there is to much tension between some spots."
"Why are you explaining fate to me this way?" Josh frowned and Jess was touching the ice Bridge. Her hand broke a thread and the napkin spiders react accordingly. Watching them move to change and protect the web integrity. One breaking the useless events and the other adding new events.
"Omens is fates opposite. Just as there is life and death." Jess getting it and Josh looking at the demonstration. He plucked a thread and watched the two spiders fighting each other over how the keep the threads going.
"I love the miniatures. Where are they from?" Kyle asking.
"You don't want to know." She purrs deeply, "The demonstration isn't our web and these aren't our gods. I have borrowed them. Their book is predetermined not that they know or care." She clears away this demonstration. Kyle stares at her a lot.
"In what universe are you just able to pluck gods from thier homes and use them like toys?" She clearly eye rolls. She puts away her napkin puppets to her storage of many others. Back to their home.
"Right so fine. Metaphorical speaking that all places, time of actions and the active souls of events are like a spiders web. They the spiders working opposites but are at the same goal." Josh hand to table and timed bumps along it as he speaks, "How exactly in practice does someone change a fate by Omens will?"
"As the same methods fate acts. Random set ups. Telling people strange crap. My favorite is missing off death by saving someone's life when they should have died. Things have a cost, a life still is changed. The soul is still altered in near death experience." She hopes this was his point of him asking this.
"Or like telling someone enough of a detail that they go out of their way to prevent something." Josh concludes on his own with his own problems. He lowered in knowing something and looked between the two. He really was at the tip of the tongue about it but held back. Jess seeing the tension of her husband, leans in with getting him to relax fro her charm. They have their moment of compassion, foreheads meeting and deep sighs. Kyle frowned at the lovers but it wasn't really that bad. It's not even a kiss. Eye meet and he turns facing her.
"You need to put the peices back together." Josh spoke seriously, "Things can't be left spilled across realms. It's his turn." She instantly knew exactly as what Josh meant. He must have been held back since the boat from saying. Her shock was so instant that her appearance dropped from mock human to breaking clothus. Snapping big veins across her facial surface. A rooting system of creaks mirror that of her soul trauma. She lost her eyes completely, sunken in deep.
Josh and Jess freaked out. Chairs pushed to wall them from her. Hands at moments casting.
"She hasn't unhinged three rows of jaws, so it's safe to say that we are OK." Kyle unfazed, "I don't think you should keep at that look. You might cause something."
"Very aborable but we well past that." Petting his head with left hand, "That idiot. Maybe he not letting himself scream in pain in feat of me eating them all." A spare left hand lifted a tome out and her empty right hands (of both) are pouring a tea into a crystal cup. She flops many pages across realms and changes book covers quickly in pin point location of search each letter of his name. She checks each in condition, petting each one softly and warm welcoming. The tea is tipped down her very quickly. Hands active independently. There a third set that is trace reading the tomes. She makes mental mapping of the exact route that will take all these fragments of his name in one circle. If she takes them out of name order or that she not careful enough - his defense awareness will kick her down. She has to just trust the insanity with Kyle until she brings the other parts back. Knowing the second last will be himself - the soulless undertaker stuck in the kingdom he vowls with.
