Chapter 70 - 66 The client

The slow stop as they pulled through to a pocket realm. Curiosity tied the reign and jumps off. A waft of waving papers. The stranger waiting was plenty geared and held a living realm aura. They were someone hiding that they were alive. Given they were able to pin stare other cursed mask ones, this made sense to how they got caught up here. An accidental sleep walking as a damned being, it happens to even those who thought they trained themselves enough. Here they are at a bounds they weren't sure and sent a Sigil guild request for a suitable host guild to take them back. They knew to pay up front and after. Knew gestures of no soul binds. They were allowed onto the cart, paper being draw on and Curiosity back on. Untied the beast that pulls this wagon and off they clip clop. Onto the stone pave road of sigil.

"I understand what you are." The client spoke trying to mirror the monotone, "You lot are undertakers. Baring the exceptions." They wobbled tone of worry and didn't use hand gesture. It makes the few pose confused as the need undertakers are no longer able to discern human lifts and drops of tone in voice.

"Do you hear me? Do you see the bird over the driver's shoulder?" Trixie spoke whispers of several abnormal tongues. They all ignored her. It was when she used the damned tongue there was more a reaction of hate by her fellow travelers. But the client understood and waved them down. Peering to Curiosity likely to wonder what bird.

"I didn't think that was a bird." They state in the returned damned tongue and now Trixie lifted to somewhat their direction.

"Don't insult the god of Omens for his curse. He is a most excellent being." She warns more then told off. The client nods gently to this, "The god knows you have a human breathing status. Likely took this sigil request because of it. Those younger ones are similar to you, displaced survivors. I am unworthy of being explained about." She filled in. They tensed up in some worry and look to the bird again.

"Whatever the girl saying about me, it better be good words." Omens hissed.

"She's making sure the client knew they are in safe hands. Not that I can follow the language fluently." Curiosity huffed, "She called you excellent." He stays forward in focus, "Our client is indeed another like the other children with us. But this one isn't clay like ours." That was more towards Greyhound to be aware of. Greyhound sighed getting it, and also was wrapping his head around the whispering.

"Unworthy of explanation? I don't think we can even bother." Greyhound muttered, "But she's right to try to relax you, child. You have a god follower mark, and that means something."

The attention was with surroundings. The uneasiness the auras this segment held. A bottle neck of how the path was soon congested of unable to pass travelers.

"Trixie, tell one your beasts to move." Curiosity huffed.

"That's a guardian of a god domain. It's not mine." She already read the aura and listen to the soul, "it's pouting about how it's creator has ignored its purpose of it's existence. Feeling shameful to being incompetent."

Omens posed his wing at beak, the sound of rubbing chin on the mock feather scales. Nodding with her or to his own thoughts.

"Release us!" The commotion of a wagon next to us, it was slaves for market. Pleading souls that were chain bound. The slam of a punch and the echo groans. Trixie is the only one looking the wrong directions.

"Does putting this on help at all?" She had something poked to her, soft and tickled a little. A drape of cloth. She senses it was indeed a left hand offering. Being at closer range of the client, she feels the waves of emotions they constantly wavered and the unending thinking at miles run. The depth of aura tainted by their divine saintly status. She doesn't have the flexible knowledge of this time space to reconginze which god or goddess hold them, the patron is on par in true title which befitting the allowance of a living breather to this side. The higher the god ascendancy, the more flexible of laws bend around them even some soul laws. She has felt she could excuse herself to being a little blunt if she can argue it as a teaching. It was a good time for her to poke the bee nest for time space information from the limited minds of those around her. It would be a fair experience exchange for them in return.

"This is a soul materials issue then a perception of veils." She declines in explaining to the client. Not sure if they understood her reasoning. But it was a poke at deep water to watch the ripples of emotions flex by her willingness to further herself then just a single word answer. It made the Glader take interest ahead of everyone else. The client is indeed smart.

"Density of the soul material can alter sight." They were making notes of this, "So is this why god eaters are after gods?"

"No. You have to know how souls of God's differ to an average being. As it's this difference that can't allow the gods and God eaters into heavy realm laws like the living world, without drastic measures." She plainly teaches them this and the client swiftly noted this on a paper pad. The others do to, surprised she has such wisdom to hand out freely to everyone. Everyone had an ear this way, even Curiosity. No one seems to realize why she of her status as even now. She then makes a few hand gestures of disclaimers and plays down any issue of laws it could have fringed. The excuse is that this client was in need of safety traveling advice, thus she can justify her answering the questions in this around the bush fashion. She feels her clay faces taking interest of the different people individually.

"That's interesting. You have a death rank that matches a demigod. But you disclaim the order laws in acting to have no ties." The client noticed and matched her expectations of whom they feel to be.

"The artifact was a trade off. I gave a most desirable drinkers fantasy. He hires me often to look into soul letters and broken things. The blade a sort of way to have his men to not ask stupid questions." She makes a court gesture for god court sake, "You mustn't stare long onto any abyss. Many abysses have predators that soul snatch, you know?" The off putting final peice of advice was telling. But it throw everyone here to keep away from her. The client shuffled a space between them once more. Curiosity huffed at how they aren't moving in this stuck traffic and knew she be useful even if the creature is not hers as she claims.

"Come along scarecrow." She plucked from the carage and then dropped at the edge of thing blocking the road. She gets out of the little shape and posed nonchalantly. Stood unable to work what directions she meant to scare and what the real nature of this gaurd on duty is. Either way, she lifted few faces of her masks to float about. But it doesn't budge. She makes pulled of her rib and that does nothing. So now she summoned her broken tome. This made screams of more then just the creature blocking the path run. She puts it away in a shurg.

"Someday someone will call you beautiful for every imperfect and shard." Petting the leathers. Once it was fully away, she snapped up by Curiosity and seated back at the wagon. He acts fast at pushing through and making the journey continue.

Her mind casts thought in parallel of the loving world equivalent of this journey. Boat, plane or whatever future of sea travel. She felt the realms they passing, the auras of the ocean depths hid horror. That guard was here for a reason, so now the worry was what will be next. Sheep dog has sheep to chase in a farm. It's this far from home having lost a sheep. Fearing the owner.

"Wow..." a shrunk shape shift of the gaurd Lay's playful in the client's lap, "uh..."

"See, you didn't loose your sheep little dog." She voiced towards the creature and it growls low her way but it eased that she's not interested in it or it's prey.

"You can speak isle mage language?" The client is shocked.

"Yeah, since when." Violetta digs too.

"Wait so you understood everything I have ever said near you and you didn't act like you know." Darkwood snarls and is pale by the amount of things they had said rudely over their time at school. Trixie can hear the way some folks were bending, joint clicks or clay surface shaffing. The client looked at the whole group confused on why she the problem. Peering each individual with their own thoughts.

"The human has a point." Omens huffed, "She be the only one that could survive without being here. In a way, she doesn't need us at all. It would rather seem that she stays for your wishes, Mattu." Hearing Curiosity being called that made her snicker. It been a long time since she heard someone call him that. And it brings memories from times that never happened, the years she had protected his soul. Omens was the most fitting god, at least his gifts has been the few reason they both were back in this time space. It's the small moments of reflection that she does appreciate how things are and why.

"She can understand you to, my lord." Curiosity whipped the reigns.

"I know." Omens replied, "Anything tainted by the abyss can hear through curtains. I suspect if she cares, she would listen to the weaver spinning the time threads."

"Tainted? So she has more then one curse." Curiosity ponders.

"There only two folks that threaten all there is. Even god realms are subject to such fears. That is the Ender and the creatures of the unknown. I sadly would count even myself in such measure since I once belonged somewhere else. Or at least my soul was once a god of a universe like this one." Omens putting a scale of perspective and to uncover Curiosity blinded ways from the danger she and the god of Omens is.

"Don't put yourself lower then a crimson, Omens." She voiced deeply in a huff, "You are one of the very few souls to survived the clothus breakdown of that universe. Your soul and one other being is all that remains when they broke it all. A testament of entire world's that once existed. Every soul imperfect was what you had to do, that's something to be celebrated and admired." She closed hands softly, "You have managed to kept entire parts unchanged in spite the travels, memories and flows of time displacement. Unlike my own soul, something I have to turn into a fine sieved powder to adjust. You had even kept your original name. There is only one other part of you that your missing that shares that name." She seems in a smile now and the god speaks long cursing words at her. But she was speaking his language to the God, aware that Curiosity can translate things if he wanted. Even so, the conversations between folks was related to soul stuff. They were learning from each other about how souls manifest and the strange things souls without vessels or bodies can do. Pulling the client to note Trixie was uninterested of this conversation because she knew it already. It make Violetta Glader pondering in their own stew to speak up.

"And why do you know all that?" Violetta takes a sit beside Trixie. This was not near the client, feeling unsure to trust the stranger.

"Because I choose to imbrace the horror as my strength. I stopped holding back for the sake of trying to stay the ounce of humanity left. I stopped being human a long time ago but it doesn't stop me being human at heart. Which surprises many." She bundles up tightly and the wagon hold long for that silence. They plucked away at thigns they knew from her human years and felt unease of how she unaffected by so much.

"How long have you been selling merchandise for?" Violetta asked with trying to have her more included, since she can hear them talking about her. Trixie smirks at the lacking logic they have to even understand time to her has no measure. So she had to say things to given them the idea of timeless.

"Longer then this stretch of existence can tell. Entire tomes of soul record has been brushed by my touch. I stop counting the finished ones. I know the system of which soul are recycled at the start and end of time. I seen the finished and start of material realms. Watched galaxies. Fathomed the isolation of being the only soul as company. I sent off my many fragments to lead interesting different lives. I feel them returned and encount the treasure of depths they were." Trixie pulled her masks to float around her, "I am satisfied and not with my predicaments." She wanted to spin this back at them, remind them that she shouldn't be freindly eith them, "But I am grateful. If I was properly human, I guess I would have reacted to such impulses. How I was bullied and looked down upon... even family thought I was disabled, weak and selectively mute. If I really did care about fighting back, there would only been blood dripping off the ceiling." She shook in shurg, "My human shell has its worth but it wasn't the me I am."

"So are you more clothus?" Violetta ponders. Lost at trying to figure her out and wonder which floating mask was her direct attention. Greyhound and Pride muttered between them over notice about the client. So Trixie was nosy. And she was glad she caught them in time.

"Mmm... your misspelled Curiositys name, child." She tilted towards the client, "I wouldn't want to be writing such things if you want to stay alive. Omens is a protective mock bird. He has a nack for breaking the will of fate and destiny." She waved and the ink that had not dried lifted to her and sunk to her skin which was everything they noted this trip since on the wagon, "unlike the true title of death, I carry a more terrible experience in those that abuse the system. Death is a good soul and strides to be his best of his duty." She turned facing away from them all, "But I am scary because I am who allows the depth of some most dark wishes cast by souls to be allowed."

The floating masks all have different expressions and independently peers at individuals. They all collect together as she brushed to have a surface to hide her front. She pulled her cloak better around her, knees tucked to her chest again. The humaniods were boring, she heard enough from them. So now she ponders about the beast that pulls the wagon. Hooved something. It was a Sigil walker who relies on its driver for protection as the driver relies on its pull strength to push the wagon. But it emotions wavers when it sensed Trixie being leery or that it felt scared of Omens. It was scared of particular realm doors and gate that revealed themselves as they pass this corridor of sigil. The depths of the the ocean and all its beautiful horror has echo pocket realms and god realms along this stretch. It's most afraid of the soft song that enchanting those weak willed. There was no denying the mermaids and siren territories. Lost at sea souls and freak accidents without call. Brutality of nature and its ocean life.

Indifferent to the monsters path it walks this wagon, trust in the god of Omens and his abnormal follower. Being around here made Trixie suddenly Hum. Breaking her interests of the wagon creature.

"Can we make a stop visit with someone?" She asked them, "She would love to have some normal company for once."

"And this being is around here?" Omens asked glaring.

"What better place to hide from the goddess of life then to hide under her nose in a lands the goddess has thrown away?" She retorts to Omens, "You do well to not upset the ladyship. Even the abyss of the ocean fears her."

"I didn't even know the ocean has an abyss." Darkwoods speaking to the others confused.

"You don't mean the royal mage tombs?" Violetta ponders, "How do you know about them?"

"Your such an echo." She huffed, "Anyways, Can we? The lovely creature that pulls this wagon has a thing stuck on the front right hoof. The step of that foot isn't normal to its other steps."

"Why would you hide from the goddess of life anyway?" The client asked.

"Do you even want to know? Such thing of knowing breaks your beleif of gods. How I believe in the many gods isn't the same for those around me. I even argue that I know Omens for every feather he once had."

The staring between the undertakers and then to the excited client gleaming positive. There a draft of the other kids who like to see how things had changed without them. Speak to old relatives in the tomb. A place no death god can enter.

"You would know the way from here." Curiosity clicked tongue.

"Even better." She rolls shoulder and points at a doorway, "There." This doorway isn't a human door, "Swim fast and pray hard human. The rest of us shouldn't scream."

There isn't a gate there at all. It's water wall. A solid mass of liquid pressure.

"You are visiting?" The liquid splashed and pulled the tension to drag them in. The corridor fills of salt water and floods the path. They all were swept through fast and wash off a grey sand beach of rounded rusted pebbles. Everyone way laying around the area the wagon upside down. The beast was held being helped by a lass covered in living water aquatic plants. She is long dead but her dress of life was convincing to ease you that faluse assumptions. The lady of deaths heart is a graceful host. Pumps the water from the human clients lungs. Once they were breathing fine, she makes trip to Greyhound. She uses her own techniques in helping him. Curiosity helps Omens out, removing the latched plant materials off the reptile wings.

"You're as pleasant as always, Eliza." Lady Death huffed. The four youngest here worked together with the cart. Trixie isn't on land, she instead sitting on the water surface and sighed glad that this improved the lass.

"Your husband loves drinking tea so much that the tea pot was a successful pass on. Now you have matching sets, it's adorable. As a married couple should." Playful lies on the surface and kicked feet freely. A playing smirk of someone that approves of the relationship and looks on as a bystander.

"Your such a tease, Trickster." Lady death posed her blush away.

"Wait... you? But aren't you life's twin?" Omens perplex of events.

"My sister is a jealous woman. She got the inherentance of my father and wanted what little I would be granted too." Putting the lady in a foul huff. Trixie quickly makes gestures of warning and the two gods stop there. Only the client and Curiosity translated the event and gladly no further to prevent other caught up.

"Death is a funny man. You picked a fool for sure." Trixie shows the artifact scythe, "I can remove souls without aide of a tool but he still felt he had to give me something in exchange."

"Yes... gifting someone of the abyss the permissions to snatch god souls is a foolish man." The lady back to better again, talking if her husband is clearly a strategic plan. Curiosity click on it too.

"But his a hard worker. Always striving for perfect work in the tomes. We may have changed laws about not having soul names written into the tome but this doesn't stop the man ambitious goal to make the tome complete."

"Oh, his such a good man." Lady death smiles warmly, "Where is my head, please forgive me. I should treat my welcomed guests nicely. Here. This way to my welcome hall." She posed and everyone groggy shuffled in following. Trixie put away the dagger to storage. Then finally fell into the water like everyone else. She was taken under the depths by the ocean abyss.

"Don't worry about her. She has plenty of work to do while you relax here." Pushed Curiosity and Omens through a lock set of double doors. The goddess protects the doors harshly and sighed in relief. She then glares at Omens.

"You are Mad!" She takes Omens and hissed, "Why are you hanging around with that thing? You are freaking crazy."

"What?" Omens breaking off the sudden change, "You too? What's scary about a girl?"

"Oh... I see. You don't know." Tossed her hair back, "She is an outsider for a reason. She wasn't allowed to be fully human." Looking back on to the confusion among the others too, "She really has you all fooled. It's scary how well played that Trickster has you blind." They all shuffled away from the double door coming alive of being beat and bending creaks. The sound of monster killing each other and echo metal clicks. The pressure suddenly was as if the doors were being pulled in from vacuum pressure and threatened to loose way. There a dripping sound that echos loudest of all and everyone is at edge. The lady of death pulled them further from the door reach.

"You don't realize that she is an existence eater. A thing who eat and breaks down entire tomes of completed works." She whispered to Curiosity.

"Actually... that a much better way of what I been trying to figure out." Curiosity hummed.

"His unfazed by abnormalities. It's why I choose him." Omens huffed, "no one else would beleive I am a true title otherwise or use my gifts correctly as he does."

"Fitting." She shook at this, "You would have to be an Ender." She noted by being able to touch Curiosity like she does, "very fitting. The only known Ender to rid of such a creature of the multiverse. Because the rest have failed or befriended her."

Lady death plays the others about, she can't physically reach and pull them as she can with Curiosity and Omens. The door shudders from time to time but it was a lovely time of lady death having company. Dancing with them or talking mundane interests. The client especially was captured in this entertainment with the other youngsters. Pride, Greyhound and Curiosity sat aside in conversation with the spirits sealed within this spirit town. A cavern network of mage grave plots and uncollected souls. Talking to past mage royals and their experiences as a kingdom of monarch powers.

"Eliza isn't even the living name she goes by. So why do you call her that?" Pride asking in having changed topics.

"Some names stick. I don't see a Trixie trick Trickster." Curiosity smirks at how there was a duel between the kids suddenly. It was over something so minor and idiotic. Seeing Omens squawking a storm at the lady death goddess for encouraging. The hiss of them intervening if it meant not letting them have even more reasons against Trixie. Follows a lecture about picking on the weak. Something along the lines of even your weakest is stronger than others. Don't mess with those that hide what they are, not to underestimate the danger. The human was tired and stares down watching the fighting between the youngster undertakers, the roll to see the adults among themselves and then at the opened double door. Trixie leaned at it, looking on yearning and sorrow. The smell of decay behind her and palatable bad vibe. Her lack of sight doesn't mean she wasn't watching them all. A black liquid streams from at her feet, streaming along the stone floor creaks. She leaned down and turned, closed the doors behind her. With only Curiositys noticing the door being unlocked and the human who watched intentionally that way too.

"She seems lonely."
