"You're nothing but a coward, Dyeon!" L'nydia shouts to Dyeon as he tries to apologize.
Dyeon flinched at the harshness in L'nydia's voice. He had never been good with confrontations, especially not with her. But he knew he had to try.
"I'm sorry, L'nydia," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I never meant to hurt you. Please, give me a chance to make it right." he continued.
Though L'nydia doesn't seem to care, "L'nydia, please listen to me," he said, his voice shaking slightly. "I know I messed up, and I am sorry. I never-" before he could finish another word, L'nydia spoke. "You had your chance, Dyeon. Hell, you had plenty of chances. And every time, you ran, like the coward you are!" L'nydia glared at him, her fists clenched at her sides.
Dyeon hung his head, ashamed. "I know I messed up. I know I hurt you. But I'm not a coward. I'm just scared."
"Scared of what?" L'nydia demanded.
"Of losing you," Dyeon replied, his eyes locked on hers. "I love you, L'nydia. I'm sorry I didn't show it before. But please, give me one more chance. I'll do anything to make it right."
"Another chance?! You think I'll give you another chance?!" L'nydia growls at him.
Dyeon took a deep breath and tried to steady himself. "I know. I was wrong. I should have been more honest with you from the beginning. It's just I'm not ready to face the consequences that might come upon us..."
L'nydia's expression softened slightly as she listened to Dyeon's words. "What consequences?" she asked, her voice gentler now.
Dyeon hesitated before answering. "The consequences of being together. You know how our families feel about each other. They would never approve."
L'nydia's eyes narrowed. "You're worried about what our families think? You're willing to throw away our love because of that?"
"No, no, of course not," Dyeon said quickly. "It's just... it's complicated."
L'nydia let out a frustrated sigh. "I don't care about complicated. I love you, Dyeon. That's all that matters to me. Why can't you see that?"
Dyeon looked up at her, his eyes filled with regret. "I do see it, L'nydia. I see it now. And I'm sorry for pushing you away. I want to be with you. No matter what our families think."
L'nydia sighed heavily, her eyes flickering with indecision. Finally, she spoke. "I don't know Dyeon. I need time to think. I need to know that I can trust you once again..."
Dyeon nodded, relieved that she wasn't outright rejecting him. "I understand. Take all the time you need. I'll do whatever it takes to make things right between us."
L'nydia's expression softened ever more, and she stepped closer to him. "Then prove that you still love me, Dyeon..."
Dyeon looked at her intently, his heart pounding in his chest. "I will. I'll prove it to you every day. Starting right now."
With that, he leaned in and kissed her gently on the lips. The kiss was hesitant at first, but as they melted into each other's arms, it became more passionate, more intense.
As they finally pulled away, L'nydia smiled at him. "Okay, you win. I forgive you."
Dyeon smiled back at her, his heart soaring with joy. "Thank you, L'nydia. I won't let you down."
L'nydia's smile grew even wider. "I know you won't," she said, leaning in to kiss him again.
For a few blissful moments, they forgot about everything else but each other. It was as if the world around them had disappeared, leaving only the two of them.
Finally, they pulled away, both of them breathing heavily. Dyeon looked at L'nydia, his eyes filled with love. "I never want to lose you again," he said.
"You won't," L'nydia replied, her eyes shining. "As long as we're together, nothing can tear us apart."
Dyeon nodded, feeling more certain than ever that he had made the right decision. "I love you, L'nydia. I always will."
"I love you too, Dyeon," L'nydia said, leaning in to kiss him again.
As they stood there, lost in each other's embrace, it was clear that their love was stronger than any obstacle that might come their way. They had each other, and that was all that mattered.
