"Da Damien?" Ziana uttered the name she had carefully ignored for the past year. Wasn't he settling abroad? Why was he back?
"Oh, goodness! You at least remember my name. I feel honored," Damien mocked with a smile, crossing his arms. His voice, unlike the gentle tone she was used to, now carried a stern anger that made Ziana uneasy.
"Wait, did you even read my texts?" he asked, causing regret to well up inside Ziana as she realized she had ignored them.
"For God's sake, don't tell me you blocked my number?" Damien asked again, and Ziana just scratched her brow. She had indeed blocked him for a while after graduation.
"Wahh, you are so cruel, Ziana. Like, really!" Damien scoffed out loud. They had been best friends since high school; he had known her for years longer than he was with Jackson, and yet she decided to run away from him.
"Just because that douchebag ditched you doesn't mean you will ditch me! Your best friend since high school!!"
