Every character in this story has mana, but not everyone can cultivate mana and turn it into soul force. For young children who haven't unlocked the three basic points and ordinary people who don't cultivate, they could never use soul force but could use their mana to work—you could say the mana here is life energy or stamina.
When a seven-year-old child performed the emergence ritual, their soul power would be awakened, and only children with innate mana level five and above would have soul power. Below that, the soul power awakening test was unnecessary.
