Chapter 2: Rebirth
In the portal, it was bright light and reduction in size and then darkness, he could hear some voices but could not hear clearly what they were saying but from the tone of the voice he could guess the arena and the scene that was going on outside.
Suddenly…
"What's the fuss all about?" Wang Cheng cursed in his mind.
He felt his minute body move out of hollow place and finally he saw light.
He was reborn, what a joyous thing!
He thought so not until when he saw the hostile and unfriendly faces staring at him, then he felt his stomach churn bitterly.
It was normal for the home to be filled with joy when a baby is born but unfortunately for him he was welcomed with stern faces, he could bet they were swearing in their minds.
"What kind of rebirth was this?" He couldn't even find his father and there was no one getting ready to clean him.
Was it that they are not organized? Or was that how they welcomed babies in this world?
He could filter that hatred from the looks of everyone around him and the woman in his front staring at him.
Her intent was not hidden and did not need to be filtered, it was raw and natural, and he could tell that.
"Su Xiaoning, I told you I did not want this but you insisted, so what will you name it now, I don't suppose that you give him our family name." The eldest of the women present voiced out and stared again at the baby as if irritated by its presence.
She seemed to be the mother of Wu Wangcheng and affluence was written all over her.
"Take him out for washing and don't let him stain my chambers" The Su Xiaoning finally spoke to the maids surrounding her, they carried the little chenge'r out of the room without any regard to his status as a baby, and even the maids were irritated by him.
"I hate that child so much and I don't know why you insist on keeping him alive or have you forgotten how you..."
"Mum please don't remind me again about that topic" Su xiao ning interrupts abruptly.
"The remembrance of that night still burns my stomach and gives me headache, I'm just keeping him for the sake of dad." said Su Xiaoning in a sentimental tone.
"Anyways, I'm so glad that he is out of my stomach." Su Xiaoning said with a genuine smile.
" Don't you think that child is a little bit odd?" Su Haozi suggested again to her daughter.
Instead of taking the matter serious, Su Xiaoning even thought it was more hilarious.
"Such matters like this should not be a worry to the patriarch of the Su clan and you to take seriously" mocking her mother Su Xiaoning laughed it out.
"Do you think I am taking this matter serious?" Su Haozi asked in irritation, it was a rhetorical question.
"The child had no magic pulse and even when I looked at him intently, I did not see any chances of him becoming a qi warrior."
"Well, I also felt that too, why don't you call a specialist?" Su Xiaoning finally agreed to her mother's point.
"I've already sent for him." Su Haozi said in conclusion.
------------------------
The maids left the room hurriedly, leaving the little baby with a little girl.
The girl looked more like a child and was careful about how she treated this little baby.
She bathed him carefully and nicely, and put him on new, ordinary baby robes.
Taking him to a little colt she made especially for him, the colt in particular wasn't special in any way.
It was made locally with raffia and was woven manually, anyways the little baby accepted it with comfort as she balanced his head on it.
"Such a beautiful boy, it's a pity none can see it. I know you don't have a name now but how about I give you a name" She smiled looking at the baby who blinked back at her. "How about Lin Yujia?"
The baby smiled back at her.
Wang Cheng could hear his new name before he fell asleep, he was already dizzy from all his rebirth. "I'll have that smile for an answer, you can call me big sister Niang" Su Niang finally said in an excited tone.
Few minutes later…
"Su Niang, bring the child to the chambers" A man dressed in white robes and carrying a sword barked reality into Su Niang who hurriedly took the sleeping Wu Wangcheng out for fear of punishment.
She silently hoped it wouldn't be danger for Lin Yujia.
Inside the chambers was a black robed man with a mysterious qi and a strange demeanor, he held the young Wu Wangcheng in his hands while he examined carefully.
After thorough observation of his pulse, blood flow, his organs and his body, the black robed doctor wore a confused look as he found the child had no trace of qi despite all other parts of his body was functioning more than a normal mortal child would.
"This child is ell except that his body is as strong as any mortal child and that he does not have any trace of spirit qi or sacred meridians" the black robed doctor said in a scholarly tone.
"Which means?" Su Haozi said in an icy tone since she disliked being in the dark.
"It simply means that without the sacred meridians, this child cannot unlock any kind of spiritual abilities in his lifetime" the black robed doctor said in a more detailed manner causing the expressions of Su Haozi and Su Xiaoning to darken considerably.
"I believe there isn't anything left for me to do here, so I'll take my leave now" the black robed doctor said with cupped fists and left the chambers.
"Finally, I knew it, there must have been something strange about this child and it turns out that he has no sacred meridians after all. Let's kill him now" Su Haozi said without the need to conceal her murderous intent.
The young Wu Wangcheng felt his body turn cold under such powerful wave of killing intent.
"F**K! What sort of damned granny tries to kill her own grandchild, could that old bastard be right now?" he cursed inwardly while he tried very hard to remain silent on the outside.
"No mother, we can't kill the child with our hands but there is a quicker way to do so without his blood staining our hands –he must not be fed by our family's food for a whole week. If he survives, we can consider keeping him for other reasons but if he doesn't, we'll only have to bury him all the same" Su Xiaoning said with a cold expression while her eyes were narrowed.
