"From what I see here, the new branch in Mamori isn't doing too well." Jay was looking at a portfolio of information brought to him by one of his traveling overseers. Putting it down on his desk he peered up at the man. "Can you tell me again what you have observed?"
"As you know, Malkin has opened branches in Pucka and Dinmar. We selected the location of Mamori due to its size and distance from both of our other locations. In town, there are few businesses like Malkin except for the Cixin Syndicate stores. We negotiated with the local authorities and cleared up the opening of the store with him. We even held a town hall so that if anyone had complaints, we could talk and address them. If Cixin had shown up there, we probably would have selected an alternate location. They did show but voiced no complaints. Still, we were cautious due to the vicinity of our competitors."
