Marjun's entire focus was on the absence of the dragon while Alex himself wasn't that bothered. She was a dragon, she couldn't have been kidnapped. If she was, he was sorry for whoever had done it because they would get the repercussion of their actions. He rested his body from the duel, which was actually not tired but was only lazy.
"Where is she?" Marjun asked again when he noticed Alex was not going to answer him. "C'mon, Alex! You still can't be mad about that duel."
"There's something off about you." Alex finally said. "You sound more like K than you do yourself."
Marjun chuckled. Alex watched him morph back into her human form. "You sly thing."
"You can shapeshift to someone else?" Alex asked in mild surprise. He doesn't want her to feel that she could pique his interest.
"Yup." She said. "I cannot believe you woke up and didn't try to search for me despite noticing my absence,"
"Me neither," Alex replied, reclining back in his bed. "I shall be going to the palace later today."
"What for?" Krystal asked, taking her place on the ground. She also wanted to be high in Alex's bed, but if Alex was going to be proud, she was also going to deal with his pride, equally.
"I need to make sure everything is fine," Alex said. "The king might not ever get the idea to send someone down to check on us or give us a mission to keep us busy."
Krystal scrunched her nose. Who would want a task?
"Are you that desperate? What's so wrong with having a peaceful and quiet time to rest?" she asked.
"Rest? I don't feel tired at all! This duel was supposed to tire me out but somehow I feel more energized! How do I explain that this is just the third day yet the sword injury is healed to the point where only a reddish-purple bruise is left?" Alex inquired. "I got so many bruises but now there are only a few faint marks on my body. Marjun's hard punches don't even hurt me anymore. Maybe slightly if I bend a little."
Krystal listened to Alex as he listed the changes in him. She knew what she did to him, but she didn't give him full access to her blood's powers. However, he still had heightened senses and agility. Having her blood in him meant that he wouldn't age as quickly, could heal faster, and could grasp things faster. In all these, she couldn't let him know about it.
Krystal was still getting to know Alex, she wasn't sure if she could trust him with her secrets. She was worried that he might betray her and harm her for her blood. This made her feel uneasy and cautious around him. Unknowingly her eyes hardened at the thought of him harming her for his greed for power.
"As if it is not enough, my hair is turning red!" He announced. "Isn't this wonderful?"
Krystal chuckled. "I thought you were complaining just now about the strange things happening to you."
"I am not complaining, I am only telling you so many things have changed. So I don't wish to lead a boring life anymore!" Alex exclaimed, spreading his arms up. Krystal giggled.
"Alex, oh Alex. Go back to sleep." She urged. "If I sing you to sleep, it would lure you into an eternal slumber."
Alex: "..."
Just the imagination of her singing sent chills down his body. Him going into eternal slumber without waking up, without any enjoyment… didn't feel good!
Alex shuddered at the thought. "I don't think I would appreciate that, Thanks!"
Krystal laughed at his flustered reaction. "It's not that much of a bad thing! You would feel very refreshed."
Alex turned away and walked outside of the cave as if he was a deaf man.
What refreshed?
Sleeping with two ladies can also make him feel refreshed. Well, he was using energy there as well but it was better than that eternal slumber!
Everyone had their different meanings of refreshment and enjoyment. For him, it was having the liberty to do whatever he wanted.
Sliding down a few rocks, he arrived at the plains. Walking around for a few minutes, he tried to assimilate his thoughts on how he defeated Marjun. Krystal was right, he couldn't fight or do anything. Even though Marjun had beaten him, he still managed to stand up and fight back. It seemed like he had gained a lot of strength. He looked ahead of him and squinted his eyes in the direction of the palace. Exhaling softly, he started walking towards the King's castle.
The journey was quite long or perhaps he never noticed because he was always energetic. Now, however, he was bored. He wanted something to spice his life up.
He needed a muse or something!
Alex walked through the clear village road, gazing at the greenery around him, admiring the beauty of Celestial village. He loved it. Alex stopped at the entrance of the castle, admiring its brick walls.
How wonderful it would be if he was the one living behind these ivy-covered walls.
While he was admiring the beauty, he heard a commotion going on in the castle. When curiosity won over him, he peeked through the castle gates, only to find Marjun, Neron, Fraco, and Guido, arguing whereas the King was nowhere to be found.
Alex found it amusing to see the king's subordinates act petty like clowns, and this must be the kind of entertainment he had been seeking from the morning. Maybe he could feed his boredom with their petty argument.
Sneakily slipping inside the castle, he noticed Marjun was in a sorry sight. Marjun has swollen lips, bruised arm, and a dark eye. Alex felt Marjun had never looked this prettier in his entire life.
As he got closer, he heard their words clearly which made him frown. His eyes hardened slightly.
