Episode 12 (13/193) Gallum's ideology.
Traditionally, real thirst was something that should not be affected by personal sentiments.
Even if diarrhoea entered, it was not permitted to display.
And all of the material had to be strictly work-related.
Because the other party was unable to rebut it.
They would ultimately detect if emotions were confused, unless the other person was an idiot.
So what if you're OK with consistently right phrases that lack emotion?
There would be no response, no matter how irritated his bosses were.
Pelas entered the knight commander's office and dialled Barzan's number.
"The Knights of Barzan's captain."
"Yes. Kindly let me know."
"You can't find a map in your room. I'd want to look at a map."
Barzan answered with a smile.
"Bocchan. I already have a mental map of this location.
Pelas interrupted Barzan's speech.
"Will you respond in this manner even if a commander other than myself arrives?"
"What exactly is that?"
"Okay. I'll give you an example because you don't appear to comprehend the phrase properly. Would you say that even if Count Egor himself came here?"
"..."
Barzan had no response.
Because he knew Pelas was correct.
This is the Elian Kingdom's front line, bordering the enemy country.
It was a place where war could erupt at any moment.
If that happened, there was no way Count Egor would show up.
Of course, if you think about it rationally, it was obvious that if a war broke out, you would simply throw away such a rough place.
"Will the Count visit this location?"
"I suppose you could think so."
Pelas's unexpected agreement.
Barzan, on the other hand, was ashamed.
I had no idea what the hell he was talking about.
Pelas then spoke again.
"But, you should not mention that."
"Didn't you just tell me I was correct?"
"He mentioned that he might think so."
"Isn't that what you're saying?"
"No. Even if everyone else says it, you have to say no.
Barzan remained silent, as if he had nothing to say.
Pelas' tongue was getting ready for the following move.
"Will you keep moving it around and not show me the map? Isn't it true that it's not there at all? I'd want to have a peek right now."
"Okay. Let's get started straight immediately."
From the corner, Barzan drew a huge, rolled-up map.
He placed it on the table.
Next I unlocked the desk drawer and pulled out the phrases to denote hostile and friendly soldiers.
They placed each one on the map in turn, expressing the battlefield's current look.
An overview of where and how many troops are deployed.
He appeared to have a thorough understanding of the issue.
Pelas, on the other hand, was uninterested.
That was just getting ready for the next grind.
"It's finished."
Pelas nodded and stood in front of the map while Barzan spoke.
On the map, his finger pointed to the Vatinova Forest.
"Do you know of a location with a little pond and a cave nearby?"
"What are you up to?"
"Because it is required."
Where the gloves of the shrine are.
The form of the site was precisely what Pelas was referring about.
At first, I assumed it would be simple to locate.
Unfortunately, Barnova Forest was larger than I anticipated, so I had to figure out the location to some extent.
Of course, I would have just asked, but there was no way from now on.
I was planning to inquire while wanting.
Barzan, who had no way of understanding what Pelas was up to, inclined his head and crossed his arms.
"I'm curious what's going on."
Robben stabbed him in the side for his bizarre demeanour.
Robben glared at Barzan with a commanding expression.
Barzan groaned and went on.
"A couple of locations spring to mind."
"How many places have you been... how long have you been here?"
"By the amount of years, it's been 10 years."
"But have you worked out the terrain of the operation area yet?"
"What exactly is that?"
"How many locations are there? Even if you listen loosely, two out of two places if you've been there for around 10 years. Three times out of three. Isn't it normal for it to emerge?"
Barzan's expression gradually shifted, indicating that something was unusual.
Pelas continued without hesitation.
"How long do you suppose it took you to compile the map, find the terrain I requested... and confirm the one location in which I'm operating?"
Barzan's face became solemn.
He, too, was aware.
That has already taken a long time.
War is a battle for the passage of time.
In reality, the troops would have been grinding out even as they did this.
Of course, no commander wants to waste time on such frivolities.
He was now faced with only two possibilities.
'To precisely estimate the time necessary to prepare everything. Or being unable to respond appropriately. That's all there is to it.'
Nevertheless, no matter which one he selected, there was no way out for Barzan.
This type of pattern might go on indefinitely.
The 'army' had brutally and tearfully educated him, so it was a perfect attack for Barzan, a knight and'soldier'.
What if I don't answer the time correctly?
Do you not understand? So, what do you know? This was a deliberate attack.
What if, on the other hand, you are aware of the issue?
Barzan opted to acknowledge the issue.
"That took around thirty minutes."
The following prepared statements were to be read aloud.
"Do your knights have enough time to halt the enemy and the commander to plan the next countermeasure even after thirty minutes or so?"
"It's challenging."
"And you're so sure of yourself that someone who knows you brag that it took thirty minutes? Is it normal for you to be so late? Is that your policy as the person in charge of this area?"
Barzan pursed his lips and looked down.
That was because he was certain he was correct.
Pellas spoke again in place of Barzan, who couldn't open his mouth.
"Draw a map of the areas you know."
"I can do it, but these are not hunting grounds."
"hunt?"
"Oh, I'm guessing. They claim to be preparing for the follow-up test."
Barzan drew a line on the map.
There are three spots available.
These appeared to represent the landscape with ponds and caverns.
Pelas looked for a recollection.
Barnova Forest is substantially larger than it seems in the game.
To spend less time roaming around the forest, I had to choose the most comparable of the three caves.
Thankfully, when I looked at the map, I found one identical location.
Barzan, on the other hand, shook his head, figuring he'd take the succession exam here.
"Brother. Remember, hunting grey wolves anyplace in the landscape that matches what you're searching for is not a smart idea."
He mentioned the grey wolf for a simple reason.
It was because the most prevalent situation while taking the successor exam was to hunt the grey wolf.
A grey wolf with the combat prowess of a single knight.
Getting one was the same as getting a knight, therefore the reason was that it was simple to compute mathematically.
Even if they pursued them, it was impossible to convert creatures who were too weak to the norm.
If it was too powerful, it may become the prey rather than the hunter.
Barzan seems to be aware of this as well.
"It appears that you did not perform much preliminary study on that portion."
The tone softened slightly, but Barzan's comments remained severe.
Eyes that stare down on you as though you don't know anything.
He was about the same height as Robben, so when the tall Barzan looked down, he appeared to be an adult staring down at a child.
With a look, it seems that you misread your strategy.
Of course, if hunting was the goal, if the goal was to put the successor to the test, he could have been correct.
But that was not Pelas' intention; rather, he was mistaken.
That's why Pelas was able to laugh freely in response to his provocation.
"You don't appear to know much, Knight Commander. Who said you'd go hunting? It's due to the commander's poor judgement. Do you think that area is suitable for hunting?"
"I keep telling you, but I never follow through."
Pelas quickly overcame Barzan's provocation and removed the two map markers.
There is now only one mark remaining on the map.
That was the cave that bore the closest likeness to Pelas' recollections.
"There is no way back." Because of the terrain's structure, the gateway to obstruct the adversary must be large."
Pelas examined the map and seemed to understand it.
In reality, he didn't have good enough eyesight to figure out all the facts using a map.
He would have been known if he possessed that degree of talent, even if it was not publicly acknowledged.
Pelas understood this since he had witnessed the shape of Dungeons during Winter War 3.
Yet Barzan, who had no way of knowing, couldn't help but be taken aback.
In reality, he stated it was because the landscape was excellent.
It was not knowledge that a newcomer to the field would be aware of.
"...you are correct."
"Did I appear foolish in your eyes, seeing that you ignored my words?"
"no."
"Or are you avoiding me because I am younger?"
"That's not the case."
Now that he'd arrived to this moment, it was his chance to demonstrate his loving superior.
Work was difficult, but it was vital to maintain the illusion that everything would be OK once the grinding was done.
You will go on a rampage if you use the whip too often.
I had to thoroughly combine the sticks and carrots so there was no back and forth.
That was his knowledge that he realised after having many seniors and successors in his prior life.
"If it isn't both, simply end there. I'll crack you up even more if you keep spouting crap. And, as soon as possible, fix the problems raised."
Barzan narrowed his brows and inquired gingerly, taken aback by his surprising ability.
"Are you doing this for any reason other than to test the successor?"
Pelas simply laughed and did not respond.
How can you claim you're going to find anything for yourself after being pushed like this?
He turned to face Robben and stated.
"Roben. We're leaving as soon as the sun comes up tomorrow. Prepare yourself."
"Yep! We'll have everything ready without a hitch."
When answering was tough, it was best to maintain a calm look and pass it off as another word.
"Okay. I'll see you tomorrow."
Pelas then discreetly exited the knight commander's quarters.
He merely stood there, bewildered, watching the back of Pelas as he walked away.
Gallum's philosophy is discussed in Episode 12.
