Chapter 14 - 1.06.1 Seeker Sister

Seeker: Are you sure about this? This seems a bit too early.

Nightmare: Boring… nothing flashy.

Radworm: Oh yeah, now we're talking. I can beat my brothers with this thing.

Fix: Considering that our job is to spread this knowledge far and wide, I would believe those brothers of yours will also practice this as well.

A small series of comments were going on in the chat. They were surprised how early DreamMachine has given them new knowledge.

It's not even been three days since their first talk. Most of the world was still dumbfounded by the previous training exercises. So adding these as well would be too dangerous.

DreamMachine: There is no time to wait. I have summarized some basic techniques and methods in my hand so I chose to give it away. Just giving a few without food to cook didn't sit right with me. One should use that fire to cook good food as well.

He recalled the people he met in his morning job, most were not much invested in the practice. They were mostly there to see whether the hype was real or not. But as it was not an easy exercise to begin with, few were able to enjoy the benefits from it.

And besides, those who are awakened automatically strengthen their body by absorbing mana in the atmosphere. Why the need for exercise or meditation?

To most, this was just a boosting technique. The effects they have seen people obtain was not so fantastic. Growth was also not that great for the first time.

But that is where they are wrong.

Those methods were just to build a foundation, the combat techniques and spells are the things that utilize the foundation and displayed power.

Seeker: It's still dangerous. While it might be the same as 2+ ability users, at the end of the day, they are a lot less in quantity and easier to manage.

Impala: I support Seeker on that belief. It is like handing out weapons to every tom dick and harry. No one might even know who does and who doesn't know a spell.

DreamMachine: You fear the world will become a Jungle right?

Starhusky: If it does, I want to tread in that jungle freely… o;o"

Chaos, that is what the group feared, at least few of them.

Knowledge of this nature was considered dangerous by them, and handing it out in the open was different from handing out the practice method.

"These people… What they say is somewhat right."

Their reasoning was on point, which made Luvi wonder if his choice was the right one. But recalling the disaster that is coming their way. Luvi put up his point.

But Impala, one of the members suggested something on point

Impala: As I had mentioned before, sell this information to specific people. They will act as our proxy who will spread this knowledge to those below them, and their followers will do the same. And of course, this can be our way to create some capital.

Fix: Too dangerous, that would require direct conversation with these people. Also a lot more time to amass people anc connections. Some sacrifices are needed for progress.

'This Fix"

Luvi looked at the Fix's comments and started to wonder. Among the people on this chat, Fix seemed to be most dangerous due to his identity as a technomancer. But at the end of the day, he was also someone giving perfect suggestions at the right time.

He felt way more mature than the others in the group.

DreamMachine: I don't know about any of that. For now, I just want people to have a basic understanding of what I am providing. Monetization will come in future btw, I am not kind enough to ignore the money making capabilities of this knowledge. But all of that would come later when I find a safe platform for exchanges.

After some more talk Luvi closed his chat and started to wonder for a while.

'With this, in around four to five days, these people will start spreading the new information on the internet. So I might not stand out much if I started to practice early.'

Luvi lagged as he took out two exercises instead of one.

First was the common Fist Techniques he planned to learn, while the other was an auxiliary technique he chose to learn as it was easier to hide on the surface.

"Enhanced Stamina Technique."

Auxiliary techniques as their name defined were techniques that were addons to existing body training techniques. They were usually used to cover up weaknesses of certain weaker aspects of a technique or to enhance it.

The best body training technique is one where there would be no need for an Auxiliary technique. Because not only an auxiliary technique might have some incompatibility with the body training technique, it still takes over the precious time to practice the core technique, weakening and slowing an individual.

'But it's worth it'

Enhanced Stamina Technique: Burns excessive fat in the body to generate energy needed for combat.

All Luvi planned to do with this technique was remove the combat part and add training in its place.

While fat, there was no need to speak.

'I will be able to eat as usual from now on.'

It was a technique that covered up his one weakness which was preventing him from exercising without stoppage.

*****

On the other side, Seeker was going through a mental breakdown.

At the end of the chat, her suggestion was not accepted and she was handed the new information even though she didn't wish anything to do with it.

But it was not like she was not curious about it.

Luvi still hasn't fulfilled his promise to provide them with a compatible technique in his hand to them. But what he did provide was something very interesting.

Trick Identify: It searches the memory of the user and tries to find the origin of the target object.

Trick Trace: Can trace where a certain item had been in a specific area for a certain period of time.

Trick Light: Illuminate darkness.

They were simple spells, but their practicality was out of the charts.

There was even one spell that was similar to her ability.

Trick Detect Lie: Depending on the understanding of human psychology, you can find the truth from false.

Most of the spells depended on the knowledge and understanding of the real world for the spells to work.

In a way one can say that learning a single spell might take years months of practice for it to properly work

And even then there is a chance for them to fail if the spell caster lacked knowledge about a certain subject.

But it was not much of an issue for her.

"These are weapons, how can he not see it?"

She wondered. But her thoughts came to a pause as she heard a knock on her door. Which caused her to close the document in a hurry as she checked her mobile phone to see who it was.

On her door camera, she can see a young woman standing there with a box of some kind in her hand.

It was a woman she knew.

"What are you doing here?"

Due to her past experience, she hates to meet real people. The thought of human beings entering 2 meters of her radius scares her.

It was for this reason she lives the life of a recluse, away from people and her family.

But as its virtually impossible to live by iterating with others, Seeker had started to use her door camera to talk to people.

"Open the door Miriam, won't you even treat your sister?"She asked.

The woman had a kind smile on her face and seemed to be looking forward to meeting her introverted sister.

But Miriam was in no mood for it.

'I don't want to know her inner thoughts.'

Since she found the inner heart of her parents, she has no desire to come close to others in her family. She fears what they think about her, what is truly hidden in their heart.

It was why she started to live alone.

"I am in no mood for this, please go away." Miriam requested, though her voice was weak and one can feel how sad she was for requesting her sister to go away.

And her sister can feel it as well.

"Don't be like that Miriam, your niece just cooked some cake for you… Well I cooked, but she did help." Then her sister opened the box and pointed it toward the camera. "Just take a look, she even wrote something on it for you."

Miriam zoomed in on the cake, and her breathing stagnated for a while.

"How old is she now?"

"She is in 8th class."

"She still has bad writing." Miriam said, cursing her gift. Cursing the fact that she awakened. Her life has been ruined due to her gift.

"I… I still can't. Please, you should understand why I am like this."

"Do you not trust your older sister?"

What can Miriam say at this question?

Because truth be told, she didn't tell her old blood. She feared the inner workings of her sister. So she didn't say a thing.

"If you still remain like this, I can't do much about it." Her sister said.

Knowing that her little sister was still a bit scared, she didn't do much after it. "I will be leaving the cake here."
