Chapter 11 - Assistance And Reconnaissance To The Murasaki Village

Despite the independence of cities and villages outside the kingdoms, they were still inclined to help the main guilds as well as the Heroes of Relics whenever they could. It would be counterproductive if all guilds acted alone, after all, and nothing would be accomplished. Then again, it is the guild's choice whether they send out their adventurers or not.

Apparently, the Caharsa Guild was informed that early morning about the upcoming assault of the Heroes of Relics. And since there weren't any real threats to their city so far, Yulie decided to send out the best adventurers in the guild. At most, they were at Gold Rank, and they'd be able to provide support during the conquer attempt of the second outer layer of Ground Zero.

"PLEASE! OUR VILLAGE... OUR VILLAGE IS BEING ATTACKED BY AN ADAMANTIUM GOLIATH COBRA!"

The boy was in tattered clothes, and a mix of tears and sweat was all over his face as he panted. He did take a horse going to the city but the horse collapsed halfway, and he had to run without stopping so he could shave off a couple of seconds and get help.

Just like his 'steed', he almost collapsed on the floor as soon as he announced what had happened. Flashbacks of the village repeated in the boy's mind as he realized just how lucky he was to get out of there.

A couple of villagers tried to escape for their lives, but they were eaten whole by the giant cobra. It was probably because of his unselfish purpose that he was able to get away.

Tears started streaming down his cheeks as he realized that he had made it. Yulie immediately ran towards the boy, grabbing him by the shoulder to help him regain his composure. Pretty soon, only sniffles were heard from the boy, and he started talking.

"Please, please save our village."

"Is it really an ADAMANTIUM GOLIATH COBRA?" Yulie asked the boy. She stooped low enough so their eyes would meet at the same level. Obviously, she knew that the boy was speaking the truth, but she just had to ask it in hopes that the boy was just messing around with everyone.

"IT IS! IF it weren't... everyone would still be alive..." The boy tried to act tough, but he was reminded of his parents' untimely death and instead ended up crying again.

Right now, the only thing on his mind was to get some help. While his parents were already dead, his sister was still alive. It was his sworn duty to keep her safe no matter what.

"Look kid, I'm sorry. At the moment, our high-ranking adventurers are assisting the Heroes of Relics. Right now, only Silver and Bronze Rank adventurers are present here, and they won't be able to deal with such a powerful A-Rank Beast."

"Money! I brought money. The village chief asked everyone for help. There's a total of a hundred gold coins in here. I'm sure this is more than enough. Please." Out of desperation, the boy grabbed a pouch of gold coins from his pocket and showed it to everyone.

'Money's not the issue here... it's the risk involved. The Adamantium Goliath Cobra is close to an S-Rank Beast. No one here is capable of eliminating that thing. One should be at Diamond Rank or higher to stand a fighting chance against that monstrosity.' Albrecht said in his mind while he stood silently still in front of the boy.

"T-then... what did I come here for..." The boy was on the verge of giving up, and he limply sobbed on the floor while holding the pouch of gold coins in his hand. Despair and hopelessness were written in his eyes, and his somber expression brought about a heavy atmosphere in the guild.

"We'll try to do what we can. We'll call for the assistance of other guilds. If we can't find any, then I'm going to accompany you. For now, you shouldn't lose hope. Your village is going to be fine." Yulie responded, patting the boy on the head.

At this point, she realized that she had no idea which village the boy was referring to. Also, she had no clue what the boy's name was. It didn't even occur in her mind to ask him.

"What's your name, kid?" Albrecht asked out of nowhere. "For now, you have to rest. Yulie, can you tell me which village it is? I'll go there in advance as recon. Don't worry about the payment." Albrecht straightforwardly relayed before Yulie could take another breath.

"I'm Daley Wilcox. I came from the Murasaki Village." He answered in a snap of a finger. The tears on his cheeks were still there, but he had already stopped crying.

"All right." Albrecht adjusted his collar and the hem of his shirt before he faced Yulie. Meanwhile, Yulie also stood up so Albrecht could address her properly.

"It's the next village over, right by the edge of the Kingdom of Lomenschwaal. You won't miss it. It's right past the forest." Yulie explained.

There was no hint of concern or worry in Yulie's voice, and it made Albrecht rethink his decisions. Then again, there was no one else who could deal with the Adamantium Goliat Cobra right now. The Bronze and Silver Rank adventurers would just be prancing into their deaths if they were to go.

"We have a couple of available horses at the stalls by the back. Do you know how to ride one?" Yulie asked. The reason why she was rushing her tone was so that she could process everything as soon as possible.

The faster they deal with this conversation, the earlier she'd be able to ask for help. At the moment, she was in full guild master mode.

"Yes, I'll take one. I'll just recon and report as soon as I can. This way, you'd have all the information you need before the adventurers fight it out with the snake. I'll be off then." Albrecht saluted quickly, strutting to the exit of the guild.

Before he could completely go out, though, Daley grabbed him by the hand. Steeling his resolve, he spoke. "I'm coming with you, mister." He declared as he nervously gulped. "I know a safe shortcut through the forest."
