Chapter 1 - Found you

______

CRASH !!!

"COME HERE, YOU BASTARD!!" Yelled the old Inn keeper at a midlle aged man too skinny to even be able to move. "YOU haven't paid yet!!"

"AAAAH! STOP THROWING THINGS AT ME! YOU WENCH!!!" Another screem reverberated throughout the whole street.

"It seems Mr. Crooks was caught cheating again."

The small girl's voice was easily covered by all the shouting in the cramped neighbourhood. Luckily, her conversation partner was just a few inches away from her that she didn't have to scream her words out.

"He never seems to learn, does he?" Came the reply.

The partner was an old man who, despite insisting he was 70 years old, seemed to be in his late 50s.

"It seems so." She posed. "Why do you think he keeps doing it when he already has a wife?"

Not understanding what was funny about her question, she looked quietly at the old man laughing his heart out. Only after some time was he able to stop laughing and answer.

"Who knows." He shrugged. "Human nature is so complicated. One may never know what motivates who." He smiled. "The only thing I know for sure is, Mrs. Crooks should've disposed of him a long, long time ago."

For some reason, the smile on the old man's face became that of melancholy rather than the usual mocking one he always adorned.

"Do you think she should have divorced him?"

"What good is it staying with someone whose actions scream he doesn't respect you?"

The girl only blinked at his question.

"Look, little one. When you grow up, look for someone who respects you for who you are and despite all your inner demons. Never look after love. It's fickle and changeable. In a lifelong marriage, love is bound to fade. Only respect remains. Never make Mrs. Crooks' mistake." The girl silently nodded.

"What if there was no one like that?" She asked after a long pause.

" Then don't get married. Don't imprison yourself in the wrong cage."

"Do I become like mother?" The girl's eyes looked exceptionally inquiring as she waited for the answer. The old man's eyes, despite his expressionless face, became fazed. It quickly got back its serene light a moment after.

" And why would you?"

The girl's head tilted to the left as if she couldn't understand the question. Isn't it obvious? She seemed to wonder.

"Listen, young one. Whatever circumstances you may face in life, never do what your mother does for a living. Never." The girl nodded. As if it wasn't enough, he asked for a promise, and she complied. Never do that in her life. Never sell her body for whatever reason there is.

_________

"I'm sorry, Uncle Ben. I'm gonna break my promise." Whispered a young woman in the silent dark path. Her silver white hair fluttered as she walked quickly past the corridors. Her jade green eyes shone through the mask covering half her face.

"Uhh, where are you ?" Her sing-songy voice resonated in the space, followed by a sudden thud.

"W What do you think you are doing?!" She inquired in a slightly shaky voice as she tried to free herself from the man in front of her. Her back was fixed against the wall with her wrists pinned above the crown of her head.

Despite her question, no answer came up. Only the pain of fangs penetrating the skin on her neck was there.

Through the pain, a smile adorned her glossed red lips when she caught the movement of a shiny blue butterfly. Her mouth opened slowly, giving the chance to a seductive smile to bloom.

"...found you."
