Lyla ate breakfast and sipped a tea while she waited for Jirawut. She liked that he kept her waiting for him. It gave her time to think about what would happen later.
As she sat on the porch, she watched the sun rise over the horizon. She enjoyed watching how the light cast shadows across the land when it rose above the mountains.
"Can I talk with you?" Elizabeth asked from behind her.
Lyla turned to look at her. "What is it, Elizabeth?"
"I wanted to ask you something."
Elizabeth walked up beside Lyla and reached out to touch her arm. "Last night did you pull out his earring?"
Lyla blushed but didn't say anything, instead giving Elizabeth a thumbs up in response.
"Oh my, that's wonderful!" Elizabeth exclaimed. "Everyone said he's wild and a beast, but here he is, doing all these things like a gentleman."
Lyla chuckled softly. "Yes, he has many sides to him."
