Chereads / The Entertainment System / Chapter 2 - Into DxD

Chapter 2 - Into DxD

I stood there in the void, strangely with all my clothes and possessions, as I pinched my nose in frustration.

"So let me get this straight, your creator, an angel named Selara that was after some sort of demon, created you to help me in my next life...in Highschool DxD?," I asked system that has integrated itself to me.

[Affirmative]

I simply stared at the text.

I really didn't know what to feel, only horny idiots would actually want to reincarnate into the world of dangers that was known as DxD, of course every "feat" that was stated about beings like Serafall and a LOT of the beings out there at her level were only statements.

That world was entirely inconsistent, lots of plot holes, and generally didn't make sense, a soft hentai that was pretending to be a anime.

At one point he was sure somewhere, someone has statements that Kiba was light speed.

But still, it was a world entirely made of hax, in fact there was probably no world that matched the sheer amount of hax it had to its disposal.

Honestly, having the system was the only thing stopping me from having a mental breakdown, but it was still incredibly worrisome when you considered what "type" of system, his system was.

Entertainment.

An Entertainment System.

I can buy all sorts of things in the thing, but in order for me to get more points, entirely depends on if I had enough point for it, my stats don't increase, I didn't have an inventory, not the gamer mind or body.

There was only the shop and upgrade function.

"System how would I earn points" I asked it to get a clearer understanding of my situation.

[User would receive a point for every 10 players of a game]

"Right...any starting amount?".

[User starts with 200 points as well as a gift of [Perfect Recall] to help User start up the process]

Ok ok, not bad, certainly the future wasn't as dark as I first imagined, quite favorable.

Still didn't stop the mundane sure of things from intruding onto my life "So, I will simply pop into existence from that side?".

[Negative! User shall be merged into another version of himself from that world]

I blinked at the new information, "so there is already another version of myself there? How similar to this world was mine".

[Affirmative. On the mundane side of world, almost everything remains the same, the only thing that remains largely different is the added Supernatural and entertainment of high quality to the point it is just comedic to think about]

I took a moment to think about all of this before signing, "fine, you can begin to send me off,".

I immediately felt my vision blur and darkened.

------------------------------------------------

I then woke up, I was covered in sweat, cold sweat if I had to guess, considering how chilly the air was, although it might've been only chilly because he was dripping sweat off his body.

His head was also pounding, as he gripped onto his cranium, trying to sooth the pain over, as bits and pieces of memory flow into me.

...apparently I was an orphan, how original, you can practically taste the sarcasm in my voice.

Looking around, I was in a small apartment, my "bed" was just a mattress, there was a desk with a computer, a fridge...and that's about it, well there's also a bathroom, but that was necessity.

Everything was pretty much in full view, my "bedroom" was the the same as the living room, it connected to the kitchen, and my bathroom door was open.

Seeing the state of my apartment, it being very empty, I checked the pockets of pants that I wore, in fact it was the same pants from the airplane, I took out my wallet, ...it was MY wallet, as in the one I died in.

The thing is, I wasn't entirely sure if it would even work, the card I mean, worst case scenario, I have a few cash on hand that totaled 400 hundred.

I took out my phone and looked at the Life360 app, my family liked to know where each of us are, it will also serve to tell me where I am.

I still had service...which tells me I still have my data plan as it wasn't showing the wifi symbol to the side of the service.

Looking at the app, it showed that my location was around Puyallup, which was good, that told me I was still in the US and not stranded in the middle of Japan with no ability to speak the vocal language.

At this point my stomach rumbled hard, processing for a second, I decided to put my card to the test.

Preferably, I would rather have access to my card, my bank account was around 20k, which while it may sound a lot, isn't gonna last since this building is being paid by rent, as well as all other bills.

I died in my early twenties, I wasn't even working with computer programming for a decade, although half of that time was still good enough.

I went to my DoorDash app and tried to order something, maybe from Wendy's, while it is slightly more expensive than going there myself…I kinda didn't want to embarrass myself if it ends up not working, or my card being entirely foreign to this dimension, somehow ends up being mistaken as fake as paranoid as that sounds.

Using the card through phone…the order has gone through with no issue,…which is good, I didn't have to worry about my personal life for a little bit, it's enough to at least keep me going.

Next order of business, I went over to the closet and looked through the assortment of clothes I had, then proceeded to the refrigerator.

I concluded I needed to throw away and buy several things,…just as soon as I buy the garbage bags.

Going to the computer, it was my gaming laptop, a decent one, some may say 1k for a laptop is a bit pricey…but actual quality ones are around 4 to five times that.

If I'm gonna be making games, I'm probably gonna need to upgrade to higher quality to make sure my games ARE high quality and not just lag that would be occurring in my equipment.

Which reminds me.

"System? You're here right?," I asked unsurely to the empty air, a little uncomfortable that I am seemingly talking to nothing.

[Affirmative]

Thankfully, it answered.

I cleared my throat, as I scratched my neck, "is there an objective I must complete? What's my goal line at?" I Questioned unsurely.

A light blue, transparent window opened up before my eyes, with the text written on it.

[ {Starting Point} ]

This is where it all starts, you must create a product of entertainment, be it a book, manga, anime, or game, and have an assortment of costumers make use of it, be it to play, watch, or to have.

Goal: 100 costumers

Deadline: A Month

Reward: 20 EP (Entertainment Points), x2 your current digital cash

Penalty: Divide the your current amount of digital cash by 2 ]

…that's harsh, incredibly harsh, it's not even giving me a chance to decline it, it simply gave me an assignment to accomplish.

It's a fifty/fifty, I either gain twice as much…or lose just as much…I need to take this seriously.

Going over to my small desk that held my computer, I began to research the type of entertainment that did exist.

…and was both disappointed and hopeful.

While there was a few movies and games that were quite good, like the anime movie Your Name, and on games there were things like call of duty and Mortal Combat,…everything else either half the time sucked or was literally just a game someone who didn't have a significant other would play.

There were board games, like Ino, monopoly, risk, and other shit.

But games like Resident Evil, Bioshock, Minecraft, Stardew valley, just straight up didn't exist.

There were some good shows…I say good because of my personal experience, unlike back home, pokemon…did not do so well here, looking it up, there was only gen 1 pokemon,…and looked uglier than they should be, looking deeper, apparently Satoshi Tajiri died to a sickness while the idea was still in concept, so the game ended up…less than what it could've been, there was some likers, but they were definitely in the minority.

Also an inferior version of Dragon ball Z, it was still popular, but looking at the clips of it…well the females in the show definitely acted more like damsels who were there…to be there, and definitely had lesser quality animation.

…I was disappointed because I was upset over how much of childhood is literally nonexistent here…and hopeful because the goal wasn't across an incredibly large gaping canyon of competition.

The actual problem is to get horny players to actually look beyond the oppai that they are so thirsty for.

Rubbing my head in frustration as I ate my breakfast that had arrived, I had to think of what I wanted to make.

Shows are out, I can't make shit while I am at rock bottom that has been slightly lifted by the cash if my previous life.

I was not a manga creator, I can draw, but that was only because I had a class of it from highschool, at my current level it won't reach the popularity that many at home gained.

Which only left games and books, I can think of several, though honestly I would rather leave the books for now, writing books is time consuming, as well as the fact I needed to find a publisher who is willing to have me.

All of which is incredibly time consuming, and I only had a month to get 100 risk-taking costumers.

In fact my first thought was in my opinion an incredibly obvious one…

Minecraft

There was a reason it grew to be so large back home, but that's also why it can't be my first…

It is far too complicated for me to replicate it at first go, an 3D world of multitudes of biomes in an infinite world, with all sorts of different codings required.

It was also the fact my laptop will definitely lag, it was best to try something easier.

Some even compared it to Minecraft, though the fans of the game would honestly be offended as blocks is where the most common attribute lies.

It was a 2D world of limited size, but still big enough to explore, it was a pixel game, simple to run, it had like minecraft, multitudes options of what you can do, variety of enemies, and could be played with friends.

I went to google docs, and made a new file, and labeled it, part of its name shared the future game's name that would later appear.

Project: Terraria
