........
"Sam," grunted out Carlisle through clenched teeth. His eyes focused on the alpha of the Quileute pack. "Perhaps, it is best to revisit this another day. Tomorrow, we will meet and discuss the terms of our treaty. I believe your pack has your own matters to discuss today. Be on your way."
And that was all that was needed for the pack to be on their way.
Each one making their way back out into the forest and to wherever Sam was leading them...all, but one.
Leah stood there for a moment, watching the young one standing beside Rosalie on the stairs.
She looked at him, wondering what was happening and if anyone else noticed the fact that the baby that was, now looked to have aged by at least two years.
She racked her mind, trying to make sense of what she was seeing, however her thoughts were being constantly disrupted and distracted by the many other voices in her mind, calling her to join them.
However, it wasn't until the small child waved what looked like a goodbye that she found herself responding.
And then, she was gone.
And with her exit, the tension that was still palpable in the air, calmed.
Though that didn't mean all was well.
Esme instantly zipped to Carlisle's side. Holding him in her arms, while Alice did the same for Jasper.
Both mates attempting to comfort their partners and help them regain their equilibrium, while everyone else waited for Carlisle to regain control over himself.
In truth, they were all a little afraid.
After all, in all the years they had known him, this was the first time that they had seen him lose control of his emotions, and none knew what to do.
Not even the man in question.
That is, until a childish voice sounded out into the living room from above them.
"I believe that may have been my fault."
It was only then that they noticed what Leah had.
Even Rosalie found herself surprised by the sudden voice speaking from near her knees. Only to realize that the baby that she had been cuddling in her arms was no longer there.
Now, in his place was a small boy, who looked to be around two years old, giving off major Madara vibes with his arms crossed at the chest, head held high, and feet shoulder width a part. The only factor that took away from just how badass the pose was, was the fact that the boy was as naked as the day he was born....which was not saying much since he was born on that very morning.
However, no one could tell him that, for he knew, that in that moment, no one was more magnificent than he.
He could feel it deep in his very bones.
Even Carlisle found his mind calming as it tried to make sense of the sight that met his eyes. The absurdity of the situation making absolutely no scientific anything that his analytical mind was not connecting the dots right away. Only coming up blank, which was exactly what he needed.
Alice was the first, as she broke out in a broad smile, and sped run to crouch down in front of the power-posing child.
"How are you so big now?!" She practically yelled with a look of excitement that bubbled under the surface of her vibrating body that would put most over the counter toys to shame, as the rest of the Cullens sped to the bottom of the stairs, with Rose joining her kneeling. "And you just talked. You can talk out loud now! It feels like just yesterday that you were a baby!" She finished with a joke. Her peculiar mind and manic-pixie outlook on life allowing her to accept the situation before anyone else, which served her to embrace a life of seeing the future, while lacking any memory of her mortal life, with a grace that not many could match.
"I," our MC began, only to get cut off as he found himself swept up into the hands of Rosalie as she held him out in front of her, as she stood back up.
"You're not a baby anymore." She stated. He did not need to reach out and feel her emotions to understand the hint of sadness in her voice.
"No. My growth promises to be quick." He stated, flatly. His face projecting Saitama out into the world.
'For a split second, when I felt the energy being poured into me as my soul connected to another's, and turned that into fuel for my growth, I honestly thought, finally. This baby shit was never going to work long term.....and yet, I find myself still in a state of longing. Here I am, held in the arms of a beautiful woman, and yet, I can't get no, satisfaction.' Our MC thinks to himself, as he contemplates his outlook on life and attempts to reaffirm his can do attitude, but finds himself failing.
He quickly swerves the attention away from himself before he gets really depressed and reminds himself that Rome wasn't built in a day.
"Carlisle, it would appear that, my power influenced your emotions. I'm still learning control and it seems I brought up all of those feelings that you kept buried in your heart. Are you okay?"
He could see Carlisle's face as he went through a few thoughts and then arrived at understanding.
"I see." Was all he said.
Our MC knew it would take a while for Carlisle to come to terms with all that he felt in that moment when he had to face his own darkness and also accept the fact that he was not as peaceful as he thought himself to be.
It is a difficult thing to come to terms with one's own self.
(MC P.O.V.)
After all, he is not the only one denying a part of themselves.
Despite my desire to rationalize my way out of what could be...I believe I already know exactly what is influencing my approach to these individuals and my hesitance to force Carlisle in the direction I wanted him to go.
It's making me want to give my own balls a tug.
However, at the same time...I also believe all is not as dire as I might make it out to be.
Especially since, just like Professor X when he sealed parts of himself, I know I can also do the same with some practice. The question is, should I? The answer, no.
That very act drove Xavier to make decisions that could be called questionable at best and disastrous at worst.
No matter how much I find myself able to make the best of any situation, no matter what it may be, I can only do that by doing as I have throughout my entire existence, which is to embrace every part of myself and accept myself for exactly who I am.
A person who borders on the line of crazy and consistent enough to find a goal, and do anything it takes to get it done without the slightest bit of regret, as long as I do what I believe to be right.
However, for the first time, today I hesitated to make a decision.
To do what I felt I must.
I...like Vision when he was captured by Wanda and became more man than machine, have been compromised...
Compromised by my very body and the universe of heightened emotions and dramatics into which I was born that are forcing me to feel things for these sparkling disco balls that go against my goals.
Well, somethings got to give.
And I doubt it will be me.
(Third Person P.O.V.)
Yeah, okay. Haha.
(Line Break)
"MMMMM," A young boy who looked to be around the age of three years old, could be seen sitting on the lap of a blonde haired beauty as they sat on a couch and he indulged in some of that glorious liquid that gives him life.
All around him were pale-faced overly attractive individuals going about their day, as they repaired the parts of the property that had been destroyed in yesterday's attack.
That's right, an entire night had passed since the harrowing events of what will go down in Cullen history as the running of the wolves. As named by our MC, when he tells the tale of how he sent the wolves running with the power of love and how sometimes the only thing you need to end a conflict is to be the best looking person in the room.
It took a while for the others to realize that sometimes, some people will just believe what they want to believe, but all of that was for the far off future.
In the present,
"Does it truly have to be human blood?" Carlisle asked the child for the third time that day.
And the child responded just as he always had.
"Yes."
