Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Worlds Collide

Order stood in contemplation, waiting outside the meeting room, where his next client stood. He took a deep breath and walked in. A petite blonde woman sat in business attire, her hair in a bun without a hair out of place. The dark vortexes of her eyes were given an outline by the frames of her glasses. Order peered into the black seas unfazed.

Stasis sat and watched the man with pure white hair walk in and meet her eyes with two seas, so vast that the sky and sea blended together at the horizon. Instead of looking away quickly, the blue waves lapped gently towards her, spilling into the void.

"Hi" Order conjured a smile, eyes unchanging.

"Hello" Stasis replied.

"I understand that your company has need for financial services?" Orders question rolled like a wave heading to the shore.

"Yes, I am the rep from Booster Inc." Stasis gave an empty, formless reply.

"Ok" Order smiled for real this time. His eyes appearing a more tropical shade of blue in the light. Let's get started."

Stasis's eyes twinkled with the light of a faraway star exploding in the distance.

Chaos's eyes narrowed as she gave a catlike grin. She just sold a small piece she had been working on, a field full of flowers with mountains in the background. She turned around, resetting other pieces she had on display. As she heard footfalls behind her, her jade eyes narrowed in preparation.

"Hello, see anything that interests you?" She said to the young man that had walked over to her booth.

The young man shook his head, a shock of dark curls darting back and forth like a cloud of lightning. Reddish brown eyes darted over the paintings. They paused on one painting.

"This one" He pointed. "She'll like that one"

She walked around to see which one he pointed at, red curls dancing like fire. Ah yes, the realism piece she completed a while ago. That one took her a while.

"Let me guess, is she not like other girls?" Chaos asked, rolling her eyes with a playful smirk

"Uh. I guess you could say that. But you don't seem to be either so…" Flux responded, staring at her with Martian eyes that reflected complete lack of anything conventional.

Chaos blinked, taken slightly aback by the Martian terrain, rough, without any vegetation on the surface, as well as his comment which equaled hers in rudeness. She quickly regained her composure, giving the terms of the deal and prowling in for the sale. The young man took the painting. Chaos smiled.

After the last of her paintings had gone, Chaos took a stroll through the rest of the booths, the sound of music and vibrant pieces of art throughout the venue. Not going any particular direction, Chaos let the music and art sweep her along. Paintings of nature, fruit baskets, imagined scenery, lifelike recreations all filled her view. And then, in the midst of all the surrounding music which had order and rhythm together, she heard rapid notes piercing through the ambient noise.

A guitar solo. She followed the river of notes back to its source, a young man with a shock of dark curls and alien eyes with a guitar. His fingers moved quickly and skillfully along the strings, whole body moving, the dark cloud that ringed his head shooting dark curls of lightning in time with the notes, his eyes now more crimson than Martian terrain, focused on the music.

After the music had stopped their eyes met. Her jade green eyes narrowed and she gave a smirk as she clapped along with other bystanders. Flux gave a forced smile in return after rolling his eyes.

Order walked through the door as Chaos came to greet him. Before he could even say hello she had pounced on him, shoving her head into his shoulder and chest, looking up at him with narrowed, catlike eyes. They both laughed.

"Miss me?" Order smiled

Chaos nodded into him.

"How'd it go?" Order asked

"It went good, I sold em all, there was a weird guy there but he seemed cool" Chaos said

Order laughed "that's good, weird how?"

"Bought a painting for his girl, he was rude about it though" Chaos stretched as she yawned

Orders eyes narrowed as he formed a straight line smile with his mouth "uh huh, and you sure you didn't say anything out of pocket first?" He gave her a knowing look.

She narrowed her eyes some more and dug in closer to him in response. He sighed knowingly.

Flux and Stasis walked towards their door in a hurry, coming from opposite directions. The click clack of Stasis's heels should have warned him, but he was too lost in thought. Stasis's small frame suddenly slammed into Flux, knocking the wind out of him. Stasis dropped her papers, gasping, and crouched down to pick them up, brushing a stray lock of hair over her glasses that managed to escape the confines of her bun. Flux bent over wheezing.

"Can I" Flux gasped "help you-"

Stasis looked up at him startled, dark eyes infinitely expanding before collapsing back together to form a smirk. "Yea I guess so"

After collecting her things, Flux had recovered his breath and they went inside.

"How was work today babe?" Flux asked

"It was good" Stasis replied.

He knew that faraway look in her eyes, the one where you could see the specks of light in the all consuming darkness of her lovely eyes.

"Earth to Stasis" Flux called

Stasis blinked and came down from her thoughts. "Sorry, I was just thinking. The, uh meeting went good. I met someone pretty interesting though."

Flux smiled as he listened to her. "Really? Who?"

"Someone named Order was the consultant for our meeting." Stasis began. "He was very… Interesting." Stasis trailed off.
