Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: Not stalking her at all

It's been two weeks since that sinful yet wonderful night happened, and Light doesn't know why he can't stop thinking about that woman. Every time he has sex with another woman, Liezel's face keeps appearing in his mind, as if she's accusing him of being unfaithful.

Hell, why would he be unfaithful? The woman wasn't his girlfriend, and it was just a one-night stand.

He was feeling extremely frustrated, and his mother's constant pressure to take over their family's business was only adding to his stress.

As if the universe was aware of his struggles, his phone began to ring, and he saw that it was his mother calling.

He let out a deep sigh and reluctantly answered the call, thinking to himself, 'Here we go again'

"Hello, Mom," he said, trying to sound as polite as possible.

"Light, my dear son," his mother said in a sweet but firm tone. "I hope you're doing well. Listen, I've been thinking, and I believe it's time for you to start taking your place in our family's business. You know your father and I are not getting any younger, and we need someone to continue our legacy."

"Mom, we've talked about this before," Light replied, already feeling annoyed. "I've told you, I don't want to be a businessman. I have my own plans for my life."

"But Light, dear, you're the only son we have," his mother said, her tone becoming more insistent. "It's your duty to carry on the family name and business. And speaking of duties, when are you planning to settle down and start a family? You're already in your late 20s. You should start thinking about your future."

Light rolled his eyes. Here we go again, he thought.

"Mom, please," he said, trying to keep his tone calm.

"I'll think about it, okay? But for now, I need to focus on myself and my own goals. I'm not ready to take over the company, and I'm definitely not ready to get married and have kids." He continued.

"But Light, dear, you can't just think about yourself all the time," his mother replied, her voice getting louder. "You have responsibilities to our family, and to the people who work for us. You can't just be selfish and ignore your duty."

"I'm not being selfish, Mom," Light said, feeling his temper rising. "I just have different priorities and goals. I'll do what I think is best for me and for our family, but please don't pressure me like this. It's not helping."

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line, and Light could almost hear his mother's disapproving frown.

"Fine, Light," she finally said, her voice cold. "But remember, you have a duty to our family and to our company. Don't forget that."

With that, she hung up, leaving Light feeling frustrated and angry. He knew he loved his mother, but sometimes he couldn't stand her pressure and expectations. He needed to find a way to make her understand that he had his own path to follow, even if it meant opposing his mother.

His decision was final; he would never enter the business world. He wouldn't take over his family's company because being a businessman comes with so many responsibilities, and he hates responsibilities.

That's probably the reason why he never takes his previous lovers seriously, and the reason why whenever he engages in sexual activity, he always uses protection. He doesn't want to father a child yet.

'Damn! Too many responsibilities," he thought to himself

His thoughts were interrupted when his friend Hero entered his room.

"Here's what you were looking for," he said as he tossed an envelope towards Light. He looked mischievously at him, shaking his head.

"What?" Light asked, confused by his friend's behavior.

"You've been struck by Cupid," he said, grinning at him.

Light furrowed his brow, wondering what he meant.

"What are you talking about?" He asked again.

"I'm talking about you, stalking some woman," he directly said to him.

Light got angry with his friend for what he said. Him, stalking... that would be ridiculous. He will never stalk someone.

"I didn't stalk someone," he said annoyed.

"Yeah, keep telling that to yourself," his friend said and left the room

'He didn't stalk Liezel Lionhart. He was simply investigating her and not following her around at all. Stalking is following someone everywhere and investigating every detail of their life. What I'm doing is just knowing some small details about her, and that's not stalking at all! ' he thought to himself while staring into space.

"I didn't stalk her at all," he whispered to himself, shaking his head as if trying to dispel his own doubts.

He had convinced himself that what he was doing was just an investigation, that he wasn't crossing any lines. But as he sat there, the envelope in his hand, he realized that he might be in over his head.

His eyes fell again on the envelope in his hand. "I'm probably just tired," he said while shaking his head. "There's no way I'm doing this.'"

He sighed and tried to resist the urge to look at the envelope, but a moment later, he found his hand had already opened it.

"I'm just going to take a quick peek, that's all," he said to himself as he pulled out several pictures of the woman..

He looked at the pictures, even caressed them as if the real person was right in front of him. "What the fuck am I doing?" He asked then sighed.

His friend Hero looked at him, shaking his head in a mixture of amusement and disbelief. "And you keep denying that you don't like her, but here you are, looking at her pictures," he remarked with a wry smile.

"So, it's true after all, denial really is the first stage haha," he added, laughing at his own joke.

Light felt a jolt of surprise run through him as he realized he hadn't even noticed when his friend had came back.

'When did this asshole come back? Was he watching me the whole time?' Light thought, his eyebrows furrowed in an anger.

Feeling a twinge of annoyance, he threw a pillow at Hero. "Just leave," he said, shooing him away.

"I'm really leaving now. I still have a snobby woman to bother," Hero said with a grin and left the room.

He just shook his head as he watched his friend leave. Who could he be bothering now?

His eyes fell on the pictures again, and he sighed. "Why can't I get you out of my mind?" he whispered to himself.

He was still staring at the woman's pictures when he heard the doorbell ringing continuously. The sound stopped for a few seconds, then started ringing again.

He got angry and went out of his room and went to the door, ready to shout at the person outside. "Damn it, my doorbell is not a toy. I'm gonna surely kill that person."

He prepared himself to scream at whoever was at the door, but when he opened it...

He froze, and shock was written all over his face. Who wouldn't be surprised when the person in the picture he was just looking at was now standing in front of him?

"Bloody hell," he said, shocked.

"It's been a long time, My big devil," liezel said with a wicked smiled on her face.
