if memories had colours then this one would be the colour of a sunny afternoon, the sky was bright and warm as it showered down beams of light between the branches of an old tree onto the tall green grass of the garden floor,
the birds were chirping away while hidden in the canopy of branches high above, a family of white moths were fluttering around the giant lilac Bush, it's spikes of sweetly smelling flowers inviting bees and insects alike to enjoy the evening while it lasted.
the ancient wooden pergola had a honeysuckle plant clinging to its posts as it reached up to the sky, its leaves reflecting the sun as if bathing in the warm glow of late spring.
A black cat could be seen prowling about in a relaxed manner with her ears pricked up, occasionally leaping up into the air to swat and terrorise the innocent bees that crossed her path.
A relaxed sigh escaped the mouth of a figure who was sat on a small tartan picnic blanket, they sat there, squinting, as they looked at the blinding sun, marveling at the colours it painted behind their eyes.
"how pretty..."
he murmered while his soft dark hair swayed in the cool breeze
It truly was a sight to behold, the untouched beuaty of nature was breathtaking.
Exept he was rudely interupted by his stomach roaring in protest at the abuse it was being put through.
It was already half past 2 and the good looking food he had been promised had yet to arrive.
It was such a tradgedy that he couldnt help but lament in his heart,
when, just when, would his true love arive to whisk him away from these negative emotions~
Minutes passed but it felt like hours as he yearned to see the gorgeous appearance of his lover
his baby,
his beautiful, jawdropping,
smoochywoos-
Suddenly, it was as if he had seen the light at the end of the tunnel
In that moment, the sight of her approaching was as if the heavens had sent an angel down to greet him,
Her hair swayed in the wind like rose petals floating in the air, in her hands she carried the most heaven-blessed gift he had ever witnessed,
It was...
A plate full of desserts.
The golden sun shimmered on the tops of the coated pastries, the delicate choux buns were placed in a triangle so intricate and large that even the pyramids of egypt would pale in comparison, the melted caramel was drizzled over in lines and swoops that created a mouthwatering picture to the beholder,
it seemed as if the plate was glittering like a star in the sky,
he quickly thanked the waitress and returned his greedy eyes to the plate that was now in his grasp.
Now that it was closer it seemed like there were sweets of all shapes and sizes on the dessert plate,
there were butter cookies that would melt in your mouth, cakes with intricate icing and ararngements placed on top, the layers of some of them reaching up to 5 storries high that impressively did not lean to the side
truly, it was a sight to behold
There were tarts and pies and crumbles, all masterfully created and artisticly designed.
There was a bowl filled with truffles of a few different flavours, he looked at them with greedy eyes.
there were the traditional french ones that were sweet and bitter at the same time, the chocolate filling slowly melting in your mouth when you took a bite.
The drizzled white or dark chocolate on top of the crunchy shell made the truffles look even more appealing.
Then there was a big wine glass full of....
His breathing paused as anticipation ran through his veins,
A wide grin spread on his face as he looked down at the glass, it was tiramisu!!!
Almost faster than the eye could see, he snatched a spoon from the table and scooped a spoonful of the dessert up.
The topping the dessert was a whipped cream with chocolate shavings mixed in, lower than that there was a spongey cake type of thing, he took a bite and his eyes lit up,
The flavour was complex and you could taste the coffee mixed in with a strong but sweet sort of alchohol spirit. the chocolate sauce sandwiched the parts together, creating an amazing mouth sensation when all of the flavours mixed in
He was almost dissapointed when it finnished and was left scrapping the glass for the remainings, but that fleeting feeling was gone the next second when his eyes moved over to the rest of the plate,
An evil smile appeared on his handsome face as he looked around to check no one was watching him,
Once the coast was clear he wasted absolutely no time beffore he started stuffing his face with all the delicasies he could grab that were within range.
Fruit tarts, a serving of apple and pear crumble, iced finger buns, the choux bun pyramid from earlier, a thin slice of strawberry shortcake, a foot long eclair, and finally a little pile of bon bons,
All there for a glimpse and gone forever, snatched away by his outstretched hands and then shoveled into his mouth, it was shocking how quickly it disappeared into nothingness.
....
"mmmh.."
he hummed to himself in a relaxed way.
" sighhhh"
I wish I could eat here
After admiring the scenery for a little longer he packed up the remaining sweets into his bag, went inside the little shop to pay and thank the shopkeeper , and then left on his journey home.
