Chapter 50 - A promise

Isabella's Point Of View

I SLOWLY OPENED MY eyes, my vision blurred and disoriented as I struggled to grasp my surroundings, with an insanely destructive headache.

As my senses gradually sharpened, I was greeted by a soft, warm light filtering through the opened window, it was dusk time and I was in my room, back at the pack. I tried to recall the events leading to this moment, only to find fragmented memories and a pervasive sense of disconnection.

I remember the red dragon, Dimitri and I fought him and I killed him. I fell unconscious on the way back home. That's all that I can recall.

Then, like a gentle breeze stirring the fog from my mind, my gaze fell upon the figures standing beside my bed, it was Iris and Gemini. Their eyes sparkled with relief and unspoken concern.

"Isabelle, you're awake!" Gemini said as soon as she noticed that I had regained consciousness.
