Arankar returned to his residential courtyard and saw Agatha and an unfamiliar maid at the riverbank with a linear stove table and other cooking items that Agatha always kept in her storage box.
"Cooking so early?" Arakar asked as he approached them.
"We are preparing a feast." Agatha smiled before turning to Alice. "This is Arankar."
"Big brother Arankar, nice to meet you. I am Alice," Alice said with a big cute smile as she did a curtsy bow.
Arankar nodded with a gentle smile. "Nice to meet you too, Alice."
"This feast seems to be slightly big," he added upon seeing the preparations and ingredients.
"Yep. Two more people will join us. They live in the courtyard next to ours," Agatha said with a smile.
"Then I'll return after an hour. I want to explore this place a bit."
"Alright, I'll call you when we are done," Agatha nodded before returning to work.
"Bye, big brother Arankar! Look forward to the feast."
"Haha, I am always looking forward to eating food," Arankar said with a light laugh before he waved his hand and left.
…
Arankar descended and entered the ground town that was bigger than the mountain town.
This town was approximately 50 square kilometers big, with all high-class and luxurious things.
It was the most high-profile public town in the Phoenix city area, with all sorts of stores, luxurious hotels, and entertainment for adventurers.
There was no personal residence in the town except in a small VIP area in the east area of the city.
'This place…'
Arankar found an interesting place after roaming for roughly ten minutes.
[ Tower of Arcane Gamble ]
…
After entering, Arankar saw various magic gambling games with lots of people.
"Lucky! I got an epic-rank Gloomroot flower!"
"Damn it!"
"Is this good or bad?"
The whole place was bursting with noise.
Arankar climbed the tower and watched various games until he found one he felt like trying.
The game was at the top of the tower, and the entire top floor was reserved for this game.
The game's name was Cage of Miss-Fortune.
A big battle ring with a fence and barrier was in the middle of the floor.
Soon, a middle-aged man wearing a dark green leather ranger outfit with small red crystals on his shoulder and other places on his whole outfit for some design appeared.
"Please welcome, Davin Thundor!"
"Everyone has one minute to place bets! Time starts now!"
The announcer spoke after Davin entered the ring and stood in the middle.
Arankar saw people with a palm-sized crystal device in their hands that the organizer of this game issued for betting.
In a minute, everyone quickly placed their bets on either Davin winning or losing. The odds were the same for both.
"The Mystery Box is ready! Davin, it's time to open it!"
In front of Davin, a big mystery box popped out of the ground with some mechanism. But the box was truly magical as it had eccentric runic patterns.
'This is teleportation magic and?'
Arankar was stunned. He couldn't recognize the other magic!
'This type of magic didn't exist in my world... there was no such nasty law as this.'
Arankar focused and tried to find the nature of that magic since his vocabulary had increased after becoming a human.
'Hmmm, it feels like chaos, but not exactly… Polished chaos weaved with other attributes.' Arankar internally nodded. 'And with a factor of probability connected at something deeper… hmm, realms?'
Arankar's curiosity was piqued. He saw Davin walking up to the box and pressing on a lock-shaped symbol after pricking his thumb to draw some blood.
The patterns on the box glowed red as Davin moved back and took out a short black dagger with a serpent blade and a dark red crystal staff with a blue crystal orb on top of it.
Everyone was looking at the opened box with bated breath.
The mystery box produced a pinkish-red smoke with blue sparks before something jumped out of the box.
*Chi, chi!*
Everyone heard a sharp and crisp sound before the smoke dissipated and revealed a flying imp with two dark yellow horns with red patterns and a body covered with simple black clothing.
*Uproar!*
Everyone uproared, startling Arankar.
"Such an easy target?!"
"What the fuck? He is so lucky!"
"Damn it, wish I had this luck."
'What's going on?'
Arankar saw Davin grinning and thumping his staff as a black crystal cage appeared around the imp and trapped it before he causally started walking towards it.
From the people talking, Arankar found that the mystery box would summon a random creature, and if they managed to defeat it, they would be blessed with a fortune treasure chest. Many people had won things, but many had also died.
'But that imp…' Arankar frowned as his guts churned due to instincts when he looked at the imp.
On the other hand, Davin stopped two meters away from the scared, trapped imp and lightly waved his dagger.
A burst of dark red shards with darkness border conjured before shooting toward the imp.
*Chi!-*
The imp could only issue a single before those shards pierced it, creating several holes in its already small body.
"And Davin has grabbed the fortune!"
But soon, Davin noticed something and frowned. "Why is it not dead yet?"
The imp looked at its body riddled with holes while slowly shaking his head.
"What's going on?"
"That mystery box should have devoured back that imp by now and popped out a treasure chest. Damn it, I want to see what he gets from it."
"Tsk, I bet on him dying and already lost."
"But that imp, it's still alive."
"Hey, announcer! What's going on?"
*Siii…..!*
Suddenly, everyone was forcefully turned silent, their mouths sealed.
The atmosphere on the floor suddenly chilled as everyone felt dread from deep within.
Even Arankar was shocked as a powerful force shut his mouth via some magical means.
"How annoying…"
But words were heard, and they came from the imp.
The imp was suddenly surrounded by a demonic dark red cloud with black and dark yellow sparks that got bigger and bigger before vanishing. Everyone saw a demonic entity that looked like an imp but was five meters tall and wore a loose black robe with dark silver fiendish designs.
The loose robe revealed over half of his chest, engraved with eccentric dark yellow and black runic patterns as his skin glowed with a strange luster.
"So, you all bastards are catching creatures of my world and using them in this formation?"
"Teleport...Hex…Conversion, Arcane?" he muttered as he looked at the mystery box before his expression changed.
"Hell be damned If the owner of that mystery box doesn't come in a minute! I will turn everything within a continental size into an infernal hell!"
As he shouted, two angry flares of demonic dark orange flames came out of his nostrils.
Everyone was alarmed and scared shitless because they couldn't inspect the entity before them.
Even the legendary powerhouses present on the floor couldn't! Everyone just stood like a statue, waiting for their death or a chance at life because running away or doing anything would focus that entity's attention on them.
'This is troublesome… is it fortunate that this happened while I was here or misfortune for me?'
Arankar frowned. 'Will I have to unseal my powers to get rid of this imp?'
He didn't want to unseal his powers from his existing source because his current body and soul were not capable and strong enough to bear even a fraction of his past life's powers.
If he wielded his power to eliminate this entity, his body would vanish in an instant afterward, ending his new and now main life.
Moreover, his primary consciousness was in this body and soul, so he would die a natural death and have to wait for a long time to regain his memories and power from his existing source.
He planned to get strong from ground zero in his new life, as he wanted to grow stronger in this lively and complicated world. So, he couldn't just let this powerful entity ruin this world and kill him.
'What do I do? Even if other people came here, they wouldn't be able to defeat this person unless they invited a stronger person from another world.'
Arankar was in a pinch.
Of course, the aura of this super powerful entity was unmasked as he didn't hide it.
All those mythical powerhouses throughout the globe sensed a tingle and felt the aura as they turned to Phoenix City's direction, no matter how far they were, and immediately took action.
Some called, and some left.
The five mythical powerhouses of SlayerBreak guild had already gathered a kilometer away from the Tower of Arcane Gamble while the town was being evacuated.
"There's a powerful mythical entity in that tower. It's way more powerful than us," Daha said with a dark expression.
"It's an upper-rank Mythical entity or higher," said a woman who looked in her late twenties with an almost indifferent expression as she glanced at the tower.
She wore a black-purple kunoichi outfit with dark pink and red flower designs, and her long whitish-purple ponytail enhanced her sharp beauty.
Tomoe Yami!
"We should immediately go there, or he will really explode out with his power since he doesn't seem to be joking about that one-minute threat," Jing said before vanishing from her spot as the black wind whirled around her.
"Let's hope we can talk this out," said a bald, muscular man with a somber expression. His name was Jakal, a mythical rank powerhouse of SlayerBreak guild.
He wore a red-bronze draconic armor and was seven feet tall with a bulky giant sword at his back.
"Jakal, can you try to ask help from Elder Dragon Ogoran from Redstar Mountain? You trained under him, right?"
"I'll try," Jakal nodded.
"Then we are going, Tomoe."
Tomoe nodded and remained in her spot as she overlooked the evacuation in the air while Daha and Jakal left.
