Chereads / Carnival of Life: Human King Arankar / Chapter 19 - Neighbour Maid

Chapter 19 - Neighbour Maid

Arankar and Agatha settled in the pavilion as they sat on the mattress, taking a constant flowing cool breeze in the relaxing atmosphere.

"You'll have to take all of this from Daha. His greed got him up to this position, so we must steal everything from him," Agatha softly said as if she was having a light conversation with Arankar.

Arankar faintly smiled and nodded as he found another difference between this world and his world since he had learned about this human world and its darkness from Agatha.

"That sounds more fun than just ending his life. In my world, death was the worst fear, but here, there are many fears worse than death that people would rather embrace death than go through that fear of life."

"Your world sounds more and more like paradise," Agatha said with a wry smile. "But humans can't live in such a place. We are social creatures. Even if you live alone without worrying about money and food, you need some source of entertainment, and that only comes from others or their creations."

Arankar nodded. "My world works very primitively and strongly. Humans are not ready to explore it fully yet."

The 4th world was officially named RaveGrav because there was no sentient enough being like Arankar in that world that could speak. All beasts, supernatural avatars of concepts and powers, were just fighting, fighting, and fighting.

There was much to learn about that world, but death was also constant there, so not many people adventured in RaveGrav.

After a few minutes of waiting, a beautiful woman in her early thirties entered the courtyard as Agatha and Arankar walked toward her.

"I am Renia, this floor's general manager," Renia politely said before she stretched her arm for a handshake.

'So, they are the ones who snatched this courtyard from Victor Litch's son? Must have some big backing.'

"Hello, I am Agatha, and this is my son, Arankar."

"Oh? So you two joined the guild at the same time…wait, I didn't see you in the recent entrance test," Renia said with a frown.

"Nah, we are specially recruited because of my son's exceptional talent," Agatha said with a modest smile. "Anyway, someone was supposed to take Arankar for the Special Rookie Batch. Is that you?"

Renia released a hollow laugh as she nodded; her lips twitched as she smiled and said, "Yes, that's me. Mr. Arankar, please follow me. I was instructed to lead you to the batch gathering, which is already delayed by over an hour due to your late arrival."

Arankar smiled apologetically, "I truly feel bad about it. Please, let us hurry."

'This kid too…' Renia's lips twitched. She wanted to stammer this young kid but failed.

'Damn, kids these days.'

"Yes, please follow me."

Arankar and Renia left the courtyard while Agatha took a deep breath before looking at the courtyard's left side, where a small river flowed.

"What's that sound?" Agatha heard some rhythmic sounds and got curious as she approached the riverbank.

Behind that river was another courtyard like theirs, but with differently structured huts, pavilion designs, positions, and arrays and decorations of trees, plants, and such.

"Eh, a cute maid?"

Agatha suddenly saw a cute girl looking thirteen years old with fluffy blond hair and blue eyes. She had worn a cute black & white maid outfit and hummed while watering the flower array near the riverbank when she suddenly heard Agatha's voice and saw her.

"Ahh! Bikurista!"

The maid spoke in a foreign language with a cute startled expression.

"What did you say?" Agatha was surprised.

"I-I am sorry. I am Alice. How are you?" Alice became nervous, and a blush formed on her cheeks.

'So cute, but what is this child doing here? And in a maid outfit, no less?' Agatha wondered internally.

"Hi, Alice, I am Agatha, are your parents there?"

"Parents? No. Alice doesn't have parents," Alice shook her head before brightly smiling. "Alice has one master, and I am here to serve her."

'What? A thirteen-year cute kid is serving someone? Are you kidding me?' Agatha was shocked.

But Alice made a face as if she suddenly remembered something important and quickly said, "M-Miss Agatha, don't misunderstand. I am not a human, but an artifact spirit."

"Artifact spirit?!"

Agatha was even more shocked. She had heard about artifact spirits. They were born from powerful weapons, but acquiring or creating such a weapon was something that only peak legendaries could do.

'Her parents must be powerful.'

"Yes. My weapon's name is Lan Aurelion Saber," Alice said with a big smile.

"I see," Agatha smiled before changing the topic, "so Alice-chan, did you create lunch yet?"

"Nop, Not yet. But I was about to prepare it for my master because she will be going into a dungeon after two hours," Alice said before she clenched her fist. "I have to make good food for the master so she can stay energetic in the dungeon."

"How cute, haha. Alright, come to this big sister. I'll teach you how to cook good food because I also need to prepare it," Agatha said with a smile.

"Really? Are you a mystic chef?" Alice quickly asked with shining eyes.

"Of course," Alice nodded with a prideful grin, "I am a Tier-10 Mystic Chef."

One of Agatha's sub-classes was Mystic Chef, and it was also her maxed tier sub-class because she wanted to give the best food to Arankar while raising him.

"Sugoi! I mean, That's so awesome! Alice wants to learn from you; please help me, teacher!"

"Alright, come over here. We'll make a feast today."

Agatha guessed that Alice's master was also Arankar's batch mate because according to the schedule of the Special Rookie Batch Leon gave her, Arankar was also supposed to enter his first dungeon after two hours, just like Alice's master.
