Chapter 15 - Survival classes are the best?

After tending to his muscles, as well as some small bruises he had gotten from the fight with the spearman, he went out for another match.

Ruel could have left right there and then as he only had to fight just once, but where was the fun in that? The people here were natural geniuses. What Ruel had achieved with his previous life's knowledge and willpower, they had achieved the same with nothing to them.

If by fighting them, he could earn any form of experience that could help him later on, then he would. He also had to act somewhat out to fulfill his future plans, it was true that he would get a major amount of attention, but it was better than not being able to do what he set out to do.

The next opponent was a sword user like him, but far below his level. After the first two strikes, it was just one-sided. Ruel pushed forward aggressively and later broke the man's sword.

The man was a sword amateur in front of Ruel, the only reason took his time with the spear user was just because he wanted to test the limits of his own body, and what better way was there than to fight a person with greater reach as well as a greater power than you.

With the fight ending in his victory, Ruel finally took a break as well as a slight smile crept up his face.

He had noticed mid-fight that Zed was looking towards him, noticing his every move. He had been spectating Ruel's fight from the moment he had defeated the spear guy.

This was to be expected as Ruel was winning fights with people one rank above him.

And by an overwhelming margin at that, the fights were dynamic while looking like both of the fighters were in a stalemate, but it wasn't.

Ruel always had the upper hand, and that's what piqued Zed's interest in him.

This was a necessary thing for Ruel's near future plans. He would need an alibi at that time and what better person is there other than a teacher?

Noticing the class was finally over, Ruel went over to the weapons stand, putting his sword there before he went away from the classroom.

With there being some time in his next class, he took a stroll around the area while eating the food he had picked up from the cafeteria.

A cultivator's body was much more advanced and metabolically taxing, it needed much more energy than normal humans.

Even though a cultivator could live with no food for some time and that time increased as they reached new heights.

Personal hygiene and food still helped in the efficiency of the spiritual energy accumulating inside a person.

It could speed up or even help in accumulating spiritual energy inside oneself. Ruel was still in his teens, and he needed much food at the start of his journey to have a better body.

The food provided by the sect was from spiritual beasts. The meat had an ample amount of spiritual energy in it, with each bite being refreshing.

After strolling some more, he came directly to the survival lesson class. This class was the thing most needed after the combat class, not for some additional bonus, but for the knowledge.

Ruel had lived for hundreds of years in his previous life, fighting and cultivating for so long made him forget some of the past knowledge he had in his mind.

With time he had forgotten most of the demons and beasts in the lower ranks, the cultivation rank he was at, no lower-level creatures could harm him. That was one of the causes of his arrogance.

But now the case wasn't the same. He had to fight his way back from the bottom of the pit to the top, towards heights that no one had reached.

In this journey, it would be the most humiliating thing to die to lower demons in the second chance given to him.

What he would say to that old shithead?

That he died to a Foundation Establishment ranked creature?

Absolutely disgusting!

He only remembered the Baleful creeper and the lesser horn creepers because of the massacre that he had now prevented.

He had absolutely no recollection of others, this was the reason he wanted to attend the survival lessons.

Information about the smallest of dangers should be in his head. This wasn't him being paranoid but being cautious of everything he didn't know.

Entering the class, there were some chairs laid around in an orderly manner, the area was looking like a podium. This all was done in a small area compared to the vast expanse of bookshelves he saw in front of him.

With curtains around everywhere, in some distance, there was a round platform with hundreds of smaller platforms.

Each of these platforms had high-tech formations inlaid in them with holographic screens that one could insert the area they wanted to go in. They could take a person anywhere in this endless library.

The library only had information about the first three realms, the Body reconstruction realms. Yet it was this vast. The library was around half of the size of the biggest football stadium on earth.

Looking at the books published with hard work as well as blood, sweat, and tears, Ruel had respect for these authors, yet the most known thing on his face was dread, the dread of having to read most of these.

He could only lament his status as an overly cautious regressor.

Looking around, he took one of the seats in the frontmost row, waiting patiently for the class to start.

5 minutes into the class did the two instructors come, they were looking somewhat weary as well as exhausted, with dark circles under their eyes. One of them had weird-looking objects people called spectacles in the world.

It was supposed to be an honor for a scholar to have those.

In an exhausted yet cheerful voice, the person with spectacles greeted everyone present.

"Hello everybody, I am Agnus and this is my dear friend as well as assistant professor Clark"

"We will be teaching you survival lessons for the coming years. The basic overview of this class is to teach you what the combat class doesn't teach, that is, how to survive."

"Now many of you will be thinking, why is the class of survival needed? Don't you just need the power to topple over everything? I would wholeheartedly agree with you all. After power is a necessity in a world like ours, isn't it?"

"But, and this one is big, but what if you come across something you can't beat, something as big as nature or even the smallest of insects? What would you do to survive them? Will you beat an avalanche as massive as Mount Sumeru or a swarm of thousands of insects that can kill you with just one sting with your all-powerful fist?"

"I- We teach you all to survive through these disasters. I am happy to have you all here with us, not many cultivators go through the amount of brain-racking needed for this, and certainly not many stay by the end of it." With a wave of Agnus's hand, assistant Professor Clark came forward, starting the class.
