In the Hesmaton Kingdom it was the norm to arrange marriages among nobles at the age of 12, 14, or 16. Weddings were held at the age of 18 after at least two years of engagement that allowed the couple to establish a relationship. The only people that regularly don't fall under these are the heirs of the family. Best example is Jasmine.
I wasn't able to say anything before Esy started to speak.
"You can call me Esy, only my parents and Siblings call me Esmeralda. I know that this is a setup. My sister has instigated this. Don't play the clueless, I can live with you as my partner. At least you are not looking at my sister the way the other men do."
I had no clues how other men looked at Jasmine but I could imagine men openly lusting over her body. The thought disgusted me.
"Alright I will call you Esy. You might not believe me but I didn't know that this is a set up because I never expected to be set up in the first place. I am only an orphan that hilda raised as her son. I have no claim to her title or land if she ever has her own legitimate child. Altruth this possibility would decrease a lot if I add the current scene into the equation. The other point you made is more important. The gazes other men direct at your sister and will very soon also direct at you, If that isn't already happening. It is already evident that you will be far more beautiful than your sister."
"Your tongue has the same color as my hair." Esy said with a small frown on her forehead.
"No, not all. The color of my tongue is a normal pink just like yours." I denied her words and stuck out my tongue to show her that I was telling the truth.
Esy's bell-like laughter interrupted Hilda and Jasmine in their affectionate play, and directed their attention onto the two of us. Hilda finalized everything with an audible "I told you so." Before she and the defeated Jasmine joined our conversation.
This finalized my first meeting with Esy. Over the next two years I tried to hold my schedule as straight as possible. Training myself, training others, body tempering and meditation. getting regularry distracted by Esy.
We became friends, a good foundation for an arranged marriage. Esy is just so loveable. I fell head over heels for her. I know that this feeling was mutual, but we were both young, inexperienced and stupid. We acted like fools around each other, The adults sure had their fun at our expense. To save myself the embarrassment I will not transcribe these situations.
But to satisfy your greed for gossip I will tell you about the relationship of Hilda and Jasmine. I feel kind of obliged to fill you in on this subject.
Hilda and Jasmine developed a fourwas relationship with the lightning brothers Mick and Rocky. After I took the effort to shape them into acceptable males Hilda and Jasmine invited them in. This didn't mean that they suddenly had any rights. They were more like handsome toys. I felt kind of bad to subject the two of them to such a fate. But I would have taught them a lesson should the ever had the courage to complain about their situation.
I am not sure if their status was sex slave or concubine behind closed doors and I am not sure if I want to find out.
I had a big problem with the thought that these two had the chance to touch hilda and Jasmine the way couples touch each other. And after I found out I made them pay for it. They were still far stronger than me because of their skill in Magic but in a pure physical fight, that was covered up as intense physical exercise I got my payback. If not for their skill In magic, I would have never guaranteed their survival.
But let's skip the jealousy of a child.
It is time for me to come to the most important part of this transcription. My time at the academy.
But first things first, Esy's glow: Indescribable and unique.
My vocabulary isn't able to name her glow. Whenever I look at her with my magic eyes I see a golden-white-grayish light. She looks like a beautiful sunset after a long summer day mixed with the unmistakable beauty of a rising sun on a cold winter day. There were hints of color inside but it made everything only more fascinating.
I know that this gibberish is hard to understand. She felt like a magnet that was pulling me towards her…
My second visit to the academy was similar to my first. Both Esy and I were already 14 Years old because our birthdays are so early in the School year, we were even approaching our 15th birthdays.
I stood up early in the morning and met with Esy, Hilda, Jasmin, and the Lightning brothers. We had a light breakfast before we headed to the Academy for our assessment.
The way to the Academy felt short in comparison to the first time. Esy slowed us down quite a bit, despite my effort in the attempt to train with her. It always degrades into her watching how I make workouts that were for her without doing anything.
In mild displeasure about her speed I asked her gallantly if she preferred to be carried by me. She refused my chivalrous offer with the cold words: "I can walk by myself!"
Jasmine was laughing so hard that she leaned on Mick to catch her breath. This infuriated Esy immensely. Hilda was visibly holding herself back to save Esy some face in public. This scruple wasn't present in Jasmin, as her older sister she used every situation to make Esy look bad.
Spoiler: This only stopped after our wedding.
We were the first to arrive at the Academy for their assessment. We were so early that we saw the overseer standing outside the test-room chatting with the guard.
We walked up to him as a group. As he looked at our group a smile blossomed on his face.
"Lady Maxima, welcome back to the Academy." The overseer bowed to Hilda before he bowed to Jasmine, "Jasmine Silverton, I also welcome you back to the Academy. It is still a great disappointment that you decided against staying as a Teacher. Having the two greatest students of the last century back here is truly fabulous."
After he greeted the two women he turned to the men. He looked at them for a moment before saying: "Mac and Ricky right, Twins with absolute lightning affinity."
Both men flinched, by mac he had pointed at Rocky and by Ricky at Mick. They were used to confusing them but this was too much. They were the Left and the right guardians of the Nature Tower, yet the first person that congratulated them on being Magus potential could not even remember their names correctly. "Our names are Mick and Rocky." Mick told the overseer.
"I apologize for the mistake, Rocky." The overseer said that but he had already forgotten that the two even existed.
The Overseer closed the door to the test-room. during the small conversation everyone had entered.
"So who have you brought with you today? The young lady is clearly another Silverton." the overseer looked at Jasmine, "Is it Spirit Mage number 4? I really wonder if your mother is truly human. 3 children with magic affinities, all three Spirit mages with elemental support affinities. Now you brought the next one, I wonder if she will be the 4th Spirit mage the Silverton produced this generation."
"Oh great I just entered the room and the expectations are already impossible to meet." Esy mumbles under her breath. I only heard her because she stood right next to me.
"I hope so, but I will love her no matter what even if she is a magicless person like our brothers." Jasmine replied most of the relaxation she had outside was already gone.
"That brings us to you young man." The Overseer studied me a few moments long before he shook his head. "I don't recognize you. You haven't been here to get tested before. Yet the aura you give off clearly tells me that you are a person with a high level of magical proficiency. Your Aura is even stronger than these two," the overseer dismissively pointed at the lightning brothers, "are you a noble from outside? the fiance of the young Miss Silverton?"
I smiled slightly: "My Name is Thorus Maxima, we haven't met yet because I am here to get tested myself. I turned 14 during this school year so I came to get my assessment."
"Oh now I remember. You were here 14 Years ago. You were a toddler so obviously you don't remember but it was a truly fateful day for the Academy. I am looking forward to what you will present to us. I would bet that you have the qualification for the Magus Class."
I said nothing to the old man. partly because I didn't want to expose my secrets and partly because I couldn't endure the pained grimace that Esy showed everyone in the room.
"Ladies first," I said with a galant and chivalrous gesture to Esy, who gave me a sneer in return. She doesn't like to be treated this way. I only do it in public, to save her dignity. And currently there wasn't anything that could ease her nerves.
"A true Gentleman,-" Esy put her hand on the crystal that filled the room and instantly the crystal began to vibrate. even more formations began to light up.
