After processing what happened to me, I sat down at the base of a tree. I felt utterly emotionally done. I couldn't feel a thing. I lost my family. I lost someone I liked. I lost my arm. All of this for a mere level. I cannot go back anymore. I can only aim for the top. Will I even be able to reach the top? I can only continue to try. The world around me has made the decision for me.
There is nothing else left. There is only getting stronger.
Something felt off tho. I remember my arm being taken out. Destroyed, yet I could feel it. Could the system have made it so that I would regrow my arm? It's not out of the realm of possibility.
But it wasn't there. I still missed my left arm. I could feel it but not see it. That's what they call fantom limbs. I guess. The feeling of a lost member. You can feel it but it's only an illusion from your brain. A way to cope with the loss.
Level 2 is something to be proud of but it's still far from what I need to be. I remember reading online that people speculated that Collosus level was around 250. It could be more. No one knows. It could be the maximum level also if there is such a thing.
The gap in talent and power between me and him isn't something that can be changed in one day. I need to work hard. I need to get back on my feet right now. Forget about Leana. It feels like a completely psychopathic thing to do but that's what needs to be done.
I am on a mission that is bigger than someone.
I need to move. I need to stay moving. I cannot stop. I cannot stop leveling. I can never stop. I need to break the system. I can't stop aiming for it. Never.
Remembering that aspect made me get back on my feet easily.
I got on the move. I know that on the other side of the forest is the first dungeon. I also know that I shouldn't approach it too fast. I still need to be in the forest. I need to raise my level against the goblins and other monsters.
It's only speculation on my part, but if Collossus did kill all the NPCs in the starting area he could have killed some in the first dungeon too. It's common knowledge that in the first dungeon you get a lot of help from the knight of despair. A level 15 NPC.
You follow him while he helps you. You need to fight and be strong but he does clear some of the stronger monsters in the dungeon.
If the knight has been killed, I'll need to be as strong as him before entering the dungeon. The knight could be alive but betting on it wouldn't make sense.
I will continue in the forest until I can solo the first dungeon.
Something cracked behind me. Could I already be in danger?
DOES THE PLAYER WANT TO ACTIVATE THE MIST CLOAK ABILITY?
What does that do?
MIST CLOAK: LEVEL 1
BY TURNING INTO MIST THE PLAYER WON'T BE SENSED BY ANY LOWER-RANK ENEMY PASSING BY HIM FOR 5 MINUTES.
Yes, activate.
I wasn't sure that anything changed because of the skill but when I took a step, I couldn't hear any sound coming from my movement. I was totally silent.
If I was unsure of the efficacy of the spell my doubts were easily destroyed when 2 goblins came right into my vision and didn't attack me.
I know I might sound totally like a psycho but looking at them I thought I could kill them. They seemed weak. I knew I could kill them. I felt like they would be easily killed.
THE PLAYER HAS DETERMINED A PREY.
WOULD THE PLAYER LIKE TO ASSASSINATE THE PREY?
Maybe, a mist assassin was a good choice. I had never heard of the class but I loved every advantage it seemed to give to me. So far.
I got myself in the back of the 2 goblins and killed one of them instantly. I was much stronger then I was at level 1. It's not even close. I took care of the other goblin without any problem.
YOUR ACTIONS HAVE AWARDED YOU 20 EXPERIENCE POINTS.
That's why people without a level aren't considered human by some. The power gap is insane. I struggled against even 1 weak goblin an hour ago. Now I killed 2 of them without any problem.
I don't think I could take care of the stronger one yet. Especially without a weapon. For now, I would have to grind killings of some of the weaker goblins.
If only they were still NPCs in the starting zone. I could get easier experience points by doing some quests.
I continued to hunt for goblins but couldn't find other ones until it looked like it would be dark outside. I needed to set up myself in a camp.
I came fast to the realization that without my left hand, most of the task of creating a camp wasn't easy to do.
After trying to bury myself in the ground as I did previously, I decided to try to find a cave. I would be protected from the elements. It would be better to be in the ground but I couldn't with only one arm dig a hole big enough for myself.
I found a cave to sleep in. It didn't look like it was the home of a bear so I slept in it.
I slept well until a voice broke my sleep.
- What is a dumb kid without an arm doing in my cave? You wanna die?
There was an old man in front of me. He had a big white beard. A lot of scars were on his body. He looked like he fought in multiple wars. The intense aura coming out of him was incredible.
