Thanks to the success of this quest, as well as his constant battles against numerous monsters in recent weeks, Kito had finally reached level 15. At level 10, he received a boost to his health points, giving him an extra 20, raising them to 80. For the rest, he had allocated his stat points evenly. Due to his perseverance and constant use of earth magic, his magical affinity progressed to rank D, strengthening his skills accordingly.

When he reached rank D (earth), a new skill - Protective Wall - was added to his arsenal. This spell allowed him to create a protective barrier in front of him. In addition, by reaching level 15, Kito now gained 5 stat points per level, up from 3 before. On the other hand, leveling up seemed harder now. At level 10, the level gain had changed to 1000 exp needed. For each level up, 200 exp points were added.

Tired but happy, he was finally almost home, and decided to stop by his grandfather's house quickly. His grandfather, as if sensing Kito's arrival, opened the door before he could knock.

"Well, you seem to have progressed even further!" said his grandfather, a proud smile on his face. "I can sense that your aura is slightly stronger than before."

"Yes, these past few weeks, I've fought many different creatures in the forest!" replied Kito, his eyes shining with excitement.

"Although the forest monsters are weak due to the magical barrier, be careful nonetheless, you never know what might happen," his grandfather advised.

"Anyway, I have organized and researched everything I have found over the past ten years. The first thing I'm giving you is an egg, which I found in a remote area, near the limit of where I managed to go. I have absolutely no idea what's inside, so be cautious. But it could be an interesting familiar if you're lucky.

Secondly, it's a very ancient grimoire, which I haven't been able to decipher. I'm giving it to you in the hope that during your travels you can decipher it.

Lastly, here's the final item. It's a pill that, once swallowed, allows you to increase your affinity with an element you possess. For us, our affinity is determined at birth, so this extremely rare pill is the only way to increase our affinity with a type of magic. Currently, this pill is too weak to have an impact on me. So, I'm giving it to you. I won't give you any equipment because I prefer you to build yourself up and not depend on external elements beyond your own abilities. That's true strength."

Kito was thrilled to receive all these gifts and couldn't wait to discover what lay behind the egg and the grimoire. "Thank you so much, Grandfather!" said Kito warmly.

After a very pleasant evening, the meal came to an end. Kito went up to his room after helping clear the table and thanking his grandfather once more. He was eager to examine the items he had been given.

He started with the mysterious egg. The egg was greenish in color, with bluish veins running across its surface. Kito placed it on his desk and observed it closely, wondering what creature could hatch from it. A familiar could be a valuable ally for Kito, especially if it turned out to be a creature with unique skills.

By asking the system's AI how he could hatch the egg, it informed him that he simply needed to link the egg to himself. At that moment, a notification appeared:

"Do you want to link this egg to yourself? Be careful, there's no going back."

"Yes"

"Egg linked. It will hatch very soon."

Kito was eager to see what would come out of it.

In the meantime, he decided to examine the ancient grimoire. The leather cover was worn, and the pages were yellowed with age. Kito tried to read the inscriptions on the cover, but they were written in a language he didn't know.

At that moment, a notification appeared:

"Do you want to learn the content of this grimoire? By accepting, you will unlock a magical affinity with: Dark Magic."

Kito was shocked. He had always heard that this type of magic was forbidden in many kingdoms. Could he learn it? Or would it make him an outcast?

After deep thought, Kito decided to accept the offer. He told himself that dark magic, like any other magic, could be used positively if mastered with wisdom and responsibility. He was convinced he would not succumb to the temptation of using his powers maliciously. Of course, he wouldn't show it to others, but it could be an asset in the future.

"Yes, I accept learning the contents of this grimoire and unlocking the magical affinity with dark magic."

Once accepted, Kito felt a flood of information pouring into his mind. He quickly learned the basics of dark magic, as well as two spells. As the knowledge flowed into him, he also felt a slight chill running through him.

Now that he had learned dark magic, Kito decided to examine the pill that would increase his affinity with an element. Was it a good idea to use it on this new element? But in the end, he decided against it, preferring to wait for later. Maybe it would be crucial in the future.

Satisfied with everything that had just happened, Kito fell asleep, eager to see what the future held for him.

The next morning, Kito was awakened by a strange noise. He opened his eyes to see the egg slowly cracking. When the egg broke completely, a small creature emerged, resembling a dragon. Its scales were black, and its eyes were a deep blue.

Kito watched in wonder as the creature stretched out before him. Its size was no larger than a fist, which made it very cute. Out of curiosity, he wondered what skills this little being possessed. He checked his interface to learn more about his new companion:
