But this event is titled "Youth Painter Conference", so he wanted to check it out.
He's now firmly set on pursuing grandmaster status in Calligraphy. But his freakish calligraphy talent mostly comes from the accumulation of brush control and aesthetic appreciation he learned from painting.
Aesthetically, calligraphy and painting have similarities. Exchanging ideas with people who have a good artistic sense might further broaden his worldview on this subject.
