Chapter 148 - Chapter 148 – The Tournament

Third person POV

The next day came, and the first day of the tournament has come. The capital city plaza, which was the biggest in the whole of Kita, was now preparing for the tournament. Decorations are hung on posts and the main wooden arena at the center of the plaza. Those who wield melee weapons are now lining at the registration to sign up for the tournament. This also include those who come from other nations just to sign up and participate. The tournament will last for 5 days, but almost everyone wants to flex and show off their skills.

Back at the palace estates, while eating breakfast served by the servants at the guest dining room, Robert and his group are talking about the tournament when Tanaka came and greeted, "Good morning, guys."

Upon hearing that, Robert and his group looked at him, and Robert greeted, "Oh, morning, senpai."

"Are you guys going to register and sign up for the tournament?" Tanaka asked. "Because we will watch."

"Oh, right, you're the son of the shogun," Peter responded in realizing, "so you'll get a front row seat, right?"

"Yeah," replied Tanaka back. "We'll be there."

"Okay, we will," Robert responded. "We'll wear the best clothes for it."

"You don't have to, Robert," Sol objected in response, "just wear what is comfortable for you."

Realizing his mistake, Robert apologized.

"Okay, see you," Tanaka replied, before turning back and left the guest dining room.

The servants then resumed serving food and drinks to Robert and his group.

Later, at 8:44 a.m., Robert and his groups are now dressing up in their casual clothes and cleaning their weapons. Robert decided to show his belonging to a clan by wearing his cloak above his casual clothes.

After that, they all left the palace estate and went to the capital city plaza for the tournament. There they saw lots of people lining up and gathering at the announcement boards for more information.

"That was a lot of people here," Robert commented.

He brought his katana for the tournament.

"Yeah, I'm not sure if we can make it," Emma responded in an all-or-nothing-style of attitude.

As Robert and his group kept on discussing about the possibilities of lining up, Sora and his two servants came. "Hey, you!"

Hearing that, Robert and his group looked at their right, interrupting their discussion.

"You all be my opponents!" Sora strongly pointed his finger at them for a couple of seconds.

"Excuse us?" Sol responded to this. "My students?"

"Are you their teacher or something?" Sora asked back.

"I'm their school headmaster," Sol answered.

Sora wasn't unfazed at Sol's status and just maintained his standing.

"Oh, nice to meet you, sir," Robert responded nicely, "I'm Robert Lightningheart, of the Lightningheart and Windheart clans."

"What? The leading clan of Saheda, too?" Sora replied while being surprised.

"Yes," Robert humbly and politely responded.

"I'm from the Windheart clan, too," Zarah added.

But still, Sora was prideful of his clan's place in society, so he replied back with, "Hmph! I can beat you with my expensive katana."

Robert's friends then raised their eyebrows in response.

"Okay, you have one?" Robert asked back.

"Yes, and mine is one of the most expensive kind, "Sora answered, bragging.

"Bragging is not good, you know," Robert thought in his mind. "I am humble."

Sol then reads Robert's mind, and he responded through telepathy, "That's good, Robert."

"Okay! That settles," Sora replied with cool overconfidence. "You'll be my opponent alongside your friends."

This shocks Robert's friends as well.

"Hold on!" Emma responded to this. "Why us?"

"Because all of you looked as experienced as me," Sora reasoned. "Do you attend weapons class at your school?"

"Yes, they do," Sol answered for them.

"Great!" Sora replied. He then turned to his two servants and told them to go down to the registration section to have Robert and his friends registered for the tournament.

"Got it, Sora-san," one of them responded, before he and his fellow servant went to the registration section to do the job.

"So that's his name," Robert thought.
