Robert's POV
Later, after some good activity to spend the rest of the afternoon, I was in the bathhouse alone. My friends said that they'll take a bath later so I'm all by myself in this big, luxurious bathhouse for tonight. It was 6 in the afternoon, and I heard that grandma is now making dinner. No one is around me, except for the hot water and steam.
"I don't know what I want to be in life after I graduated," I thought in my mind as I stared at the wall. "I mean, I haven't decided on a future career yet."
Even in my previous life, I haven't decided for my future career, despite some suggestions from my aunt and grandmother.
So even in this life, I haven't decided yet.
I then let out a normal sigh, causing some steam to be blown by my breath, and continue thinking, "I must decide early on."
After soaking for 45 minutes, I got out of the water, worn my bath towel, and went to one of the changing rooms to dress up in my indoor clothes, before going for an evening walk at the palace gardens with my journal and pencil.
And as I walking down the path brightened by lampposts, someone called my name from behind.
Upon hearing that, I turned around, only to see that Luke was the one who called my name with a greeting of a good evening in the beginning and an honorific in the end.
"Oh, good evening, Luke-san," I greeted back. "What are you doing here?"
"I supposed to eat dinner at my sleeping quarters when I thought about having a chat with you," answered Luke positively.
He then smiled. "So, should we sit down and have a nice chat?"
I eventually nodded slightly. "Sure thing."
And so, we sat down at a nearby wooden bench and have a chat.
"So, what you want to talk about?" I asked while glancing at Luke from my left, before glancing at my boots.
"Have you known about Sol?" Luke asked back.
"Not much though," I answered back.
"Well, did you know that Sol can be strict at other times?" Luke revealed a new fact.
I then looked at him and replied, "What? Really? How strict?"
"Pretty strict, especially in my long-ranged weapons training," Luke responded back.
"Wait, he can use long-ranged weapons?" I remarked.
"Yes, and he's an expert at it," Luke answered back. "That's how I became a crossbow master at just the age of 21. I trained under his strict eye for my entire school career at Peacewood Magic Academy."
"Oh, so you don't have any magic at all?" I asked.
"No, not all."
Amazed by it, I replied, "Wow, well, for me, I'm more into melee weapons like katanas."
"Oh, you have one?" Luke replied back with a question.
"Yes, from a marketplace in Keystone," I responded back. "Also, that katana is made in Kita."
"Wow, must be one of the most excellent ones out there."
"Yeah, it was."
This follows with a short silence while we looked at the stars in the night sky with some clouds sailing through slowly like a turtle.
"Well, Luke-san," I said breaking the silence, "I remembered the time me and my friends were reprimanded by Headmaster Sol for going on a diplomatic mission without his knowledge."
Luke was surprised by it, and he looked at me and responded, "What? To where?"
"Vanworth," I answered back readily.
"That rotting kingdom?"
"Yes, for a peace treaty. But that failed miserably, and we forced to leave."
"Oh, what a waste of your effort."
"Yeah, but, on the bright side, Harold-kun and Marionette-chan became refugees in our kingdom after I helped them escape."
"Wow, you're a hero then."
"Thanks. But, on the bright side, Headmaster Sol is a nice and kind person to me nonetheless."
"I see."
After that, Luke shared his time as one of Peacewood Magic Academy's top students for three straight years, not by his scores on exams or noble blood, but by the skills he has.
I then understand and know that, before I shared that I am also a top and valuable student because of both my skills in magic and potential despite being a first-year.
Luke was once again surprised to hear that, and he asked me how old am I at the time of last year's entrance exams.
I then answered back, "16. I'm going to turn 17 by next month."
To that Luke greeted, "Oh, advanced happy birthday, Robert-kun, I hoped you'll have another year of happiness."
"Oh, thanks, Luke-san."
Someone called my name, and I recognized that voice as Jeremiah's, and me and Luke turned to our right.
There Jeremiah said to me, "It's dinner time, let's go to the main house."
"I'll be there!" I responded back.
I then looked at Luke. "I have to go now. Good night!"
I then stand up and ran towards Jeremiah, before me and Jeremiah walked to the Windheart estate's main gate together, ending my interesting conversation with Luke for the night.
