Robert's POV
Man, I had a lot of money, but I don't feel like buying anything.
So, I decided to turn around and go back to the group so we could continue our tour.
While I was walking back, I thought to myself, "Jeremiah-kun is really good at conducting tours. He knows a lot about this city."
But then, I accidentally bumped into someone with a cloak on without looking.
"Sorry!" I apologized in response to this.
Then, I heard a harsh response of, "Hey, watch it, kid."
That cloaked figure then walked away into the crowd.
"Who's that guy?" I asked in my mind. "He must be suspicious."
But I just shrugged it off, and continued my way back to where my cousin and group are.
Arriving there, Jeremiah looked at me and said, "Oh, hey, have you bought anything?"
"No, not at all," I answered back. "Nothing much here."
"Oh, okay," replied Jeremiah. "How long you and the others will stay here in Zanid?"
"I think around a week," I responded, "before we would go to Kita for another week."
"Wow, that was just half of the entire spring break," Jeremiah replied. "I have two whole months of spring break from my school."
I was surprised to hear that, commenting, "What? That was a month longer than ours."
"Yeah, it's a bit strange, but we had different school calendars, of course," Jeremiah replied.
"I see."
And so, we all left the marketplace and went back to our tour of the capital.
At 10 in the morning, we were walking down the street when we saw the same cloaked figure I bumped into earlier at the marketplace.
"Wait, that cloaked guy again…" I said to them while pointing my finger towards that said figure for a few seconds.
"What do you mean by that?" Sol asked back.
"He seems to be suspicious," I replied while kept on looking at the cloaked figure.
I then spotted a strange-looking emblem imprinted on the back of the cloak. I described it to the others as a river-like symbol with a sword and a gust of wind crossed over it.
"I see," Sol responded. "Let's follow him so we make sure there is nothing suspicious about him."
Me and the others agreed with him, and we started to follow that cloak guy carefully.
This lasts for a few minutes until we arrived at a passage under a building.
But at that time, the cloaked figure turned around and caught us following him so he turned back and sprinted towards an entrance under the building.
I then chased after him while shouting, "Hey, come back here!"
"Robert-kun, what are you doing?" Blaise asked as I went farther and farther away.
I luckily get through the door before the cloaked figure shut it completely by pushing my way through, and that figure just gave up and went further into the building.
Once I was inside, I saw a dark tunnel brighten by nothing but fire torches.
Then, I heard a voice saying, "Ro-kun…"
I then immediately turned around, only to see that it was Harold who said that.
"Harold-kun, what are you doing here?" I asked in response.
"You might get hurt," answered Harold, "so I'll come with you."
"Are you sure about that?" I asked back.
"It's okay, I can summon earth golems just in case that person would attack us," Harold responded.
I then think about that for a while, before decided to let him come, much to his excitement, but he did it in a low voice so no one would hear us.
And so, we continue our way through to investigate about the agenda of that cloaked figure.
Along the way, we realized that the building above was the Old Palace. We can tell by the architecture of the columns. Then, by some luck, we found a locked gate, and we just climbed over it because the gate doesn't fully enclose the entrance.
Now inside that leads us to some underground chamber, we continue our way through the tunnel as our anxiety stays same. Just like the other tunnel, it was brightened by fire torches.
Then, moments later, we found another door, and unlike the gate, it was unlocked so we just opened it carefully and went in.
Now further into some kind of underground chamber, we continued on until, we found out that it was no underground chamber, but a huge underground lair. It was filled with torches and lightened candle on candlesticks. As we go through, me and Harold saw a lot of images carved on stone walls and the most intriguing of all is a huge emblem painted on the wall. The emblem was the same as the one I saw on the back of the cloaked figure.
"What in the…?" Harold commented in a low voice.
"What is that?" I added.
Then, we heard some talking and discussion coming from our left so we just hid behind a wall to eavesdrop on their conversation.
And then, as we kept on eavesdropping, someone said to the others in a deeper voice, "We must overthrow the current royal family of this country if we want to restore the original."
Hearing this, me and Harold gasped quietly in shock.
"What? A coup?" I thought cleverly in my mind using a clever word. "Who are those people?"
