Robert's POV
Not long after, I entered the back room of the colosseum with the other participants and sat down on a wooden bench. I then saw that most of the participants who wanted to enroll in that school are from different social classes, from lower to nobility, up to higher and royal classes, and they wear different clothes and had different weapons. But, I knew that there are limitations when it comes to using weapons in an entrance exam, and I haven't learned how to wield a weapon, but I'll do that in the future.
Then, I saw that girl again, this time talking to a seemingly handsome boy with blond hair. They are both wearing high-quality, lavish clothes that peasants couldn't afford.
"Wow, seems that they are rich," I thought to myself. "Must be a part of royalty."
Then, both the girl and the boy were called in, and they entered out into the center of the main arena part of the colosseum, before the gate was closed, indicating that their entrance exam was on session.
I then waited, passing time by fidgeting, tapping my fingers, and reading the program of the entrance exam and the curriculums of the school. But, the other participants weren't annoyed by it and just anticipating for their part of the entrance exam.
"Wow, this also includes potion-making and weapons class," I thought in commentary while reading that piece of paper. "I want to try them out."
Later, that red-haired girl and blond-haired boy returned to the back room happy and proud of their performance during their part in the entrance exam.
Upon noticing that, I thought, "I think they did their best with positive results."
Then, my name was called, so I stand up, left the paper behind, and went outside into the arena part of the colosseum, facing my opponent, the student coordinator whom I had been informed beforehand prior to the day of my entrance exam. The audience, mostly of students who had already enrolled into the school, are watching us and a man was watching from his elaborated seat on an elevated stage, primarily reserved for the teachers and other high-ranking members of the school.
"I wished the Five-Hundred Curse will be broken," the man said to one of his subordinates.
"Yeah, your predecessors failed to break it," one of his subordinates responded.
Upon hearing it, I asked in my mind, "What is that curse?"
Then, the student coordinator, a red-haired, tall boy, said to me, "So, your name is Robert Lightningheart, right?"
"Yes, I am," I answered back a bit boldly.
"I heard your parents died during the war with the Kingdom of Vanworth," the student coordinator responded back with style.
The last part causes me to be surprised, thinking, "That's the name of the kingdom we're having a war with in the past? I hoped they would make a peace treaty."
"Also," the student coordinator added, "I heard that you're gonna be the next heir to the Lightningheart clan once the current head pass away. Is that true?"
I was once again shocked at that name of the clan. "What? An heir, to a clan?"
Because of this tight situation, I responded boldly, "Yes, I am."
"Now then, my name is Peter Demonheart," the student coordinator replied back with style as he summons a sword with fire around its blade, "and I'll test your skills. If you win, you'll pass. But if you lose, you'll have to wait for another year to retake this entrance exam."
"What the…? I knew it!" I thought immediately. "This happens only once a year!" I then turned serious, and continued thinking, "I must do my best and used what I had learned for years."
"I'll make sure you'll never get into this prestigious school, peasant," Peter continued.
This seriously pisses me off.
Then, my entrance exam had begun.
Peter charged at me with his flaming sword.
But, I dodged his attack with Flash Speed, a dodging ability that allows a user to dodge with lightning speed.
"What the…?" Peter responded to this.
"I learned this in my childhood," I responded while trying to act cool.
"You little…!" Peter shouted as he swings his sword towards me.
I then dodged it and used Discharge, electrocuting him moderately.
The audience was surprised to see that.
But, that didn't make Peter collapsed to the ground because, from what I heard from some people, he is resilient against almost every magic, making him the student coordinator in the first place.
Peter then stand up and charged at me with his flaming sword.
I then used a Tier-3 Magic. "Electric Force Field!"
Then, an electric force field appeared around me and blocked Peter from attacking me, and it even electrocuted him moderately.
But still, Peter was resilient and was still up.
"Do you think your lightning magic is enough for you pass this entrance exam?" Peter asked me while being unhinged towards me.
"Well, I'll just use what I had learned," I replied back with coolness.
This pisses him off, and he eventually dissipated his flaming sword into nothingness, before summoning fire magic in his right hand.
"Then I'll burn you to a crisp!" he shouted. "Fire Bomb!"
He then started throwing firebombs at me, but I dodged them very fast with Flash Speed.
I then summoned lightning in my hands. "Discharge!"
I then fired a beam of lightning from my hand and towards Peter.
But Peter dodged it pretty quickly, and he threw firebombs at me.
I then dodged them very fast with Lightning Speed.
"Ha! Is that all you got?" he insulted me. "I bet you never learn tiers higher than 3!"
To that I was furious, knowing that is the last straw for me. So, I raised my hand high, and summoned dark clouds in the sky, causing partial darkness in that area. The audience and the school staff gasped at the sudden shift of the weather.
"No, it can't be!" the man on the elaborated seat gasped at this.
"I would never ever let anyone make fun of my clan's elemental magics," I said to Peter with a serious, cold look on my face. I knew this because I read about my clan's elemental magics.
"Eh?" Peter replied back.
Then, just as the thunders roar in the clouds, I moved my hand towards Peter, and a bolt of lightning rained down towards him, electrocuting him severely as the audience watched in amazement. This was my ultimate power.
After a couple of seconds, the lightning bolt dissipated and the clouds were disbanded, giving sunlight once more in that area. Finally, Peter collapsed to the ground in pain and paralyzed by the lightning.
"So, what do you think?" I asked him in response.
"Okay, you had passed the entrance exam," Peter admitted defeat, before collapsing to the ground, ending my entrance exam.
"Oh, I think I did it too much." I realized that I electrocuted him severely.
The audience then cheered for me.
"Woah, they didn't mind at all," I commented to this.
The man was shocked to see this.
"What? He's the 501st to enter this academy!" the man remarked.
He then turned to his subordinates and said to them, "Everyone, we had broken it. We had broken the Five-Hundred Curse."
His subordinates are happy to hear that.
Seeing and hearing this, I thought, "It seems that they are happy that the curse was broken."
Shortly thereafter, while Peter was healing up using potions, I returned to the back room positive and feeling good in my performance. Then, some of the participants, whose next entrance exams had been delayed due to Peter's current state, started to gossip to each other about my performance out there. But, I didn't mind at all because they were positive and not negative bad ones. I had passed the entrance exam.
