Chapter 9 - Chapter 5.1 : Brotherly conflict

"Creep... Snake...?"

The man keeps his eyes locked to Tim. His veins are clearly visible.

"Yes! How dare you look at my friend like that?"

Tim retorted and still pointing at the merchant.

"I-I Don't think y-y should go that far, T-Tim!"

Shey tugging at his brother's shirt, telling him to stop.

"Don't stop me, Shey! You see how dangerous this man is!"

Tim being unreasonable, trying to convince Shey to take his side. Jason signed out loud at his brother action.

"How can you said such a rude word, boy!!!"

The merchant break into tear.

"How can a gentleman such as I am looking at a lady with such thought, let alone a young lady!"

With a complete turn, the merchant turned into a flirty school prince.

I could see him holding a flower with his mouth, sparkling eyes and flowerly aura around him...

Everything have a blank reaction at the man...

"Let me lend you a hand, Tim."

Jason pulled up his sleeves, crackling his knuckles.

"Epp! These bully of a kid!!"

The merchant gets into a weird pose. One leg up, and spread his hand wide like a Kung Fu master.

The more I witness this non sense, the more I started to doubt If this man really from earth or just... unique.

"Bring it on! Lemme show how a gentle man handle you unruly boys!"

Flicking his hand at the boys, the merchant smirks.

"This man is insane, brother... how unfortunate..."

Tim shakes his head in disbelief.

"Yeah, I don't wanna beat up a mentally Ill person... It's not manly at all..."

Jason agrees.

"We should inform the chief and let the church take care of him."

Shey joined.

I could only watch as the merchant slowly fade In to dust, getting disintegrated.

"Y-You guy got the wrong Idea!"

The merchant drop his act and defend himself.

"I'm a one from the L-"

"What's what the ruckus all about?"

A voice of a girl interrupted the merchant.

Arriving to the scene, a girl with black and blue hair appears.

A clean white dress, and nicely kept hair, an elegant look of a noble.

"L-"

She silence the merchant with just a glance with her blue eyes.

"Who are you?"

Tim ask the girl politely.

"I'm ..."

She pauses, thinking for a moment.

"I'm Sari, a wandering merchant."

"And this man is my brother."

She hug the mans arm.

They doesn't resemble at all. Beside the man seem overly surprised and unprepared.

"I-I see..."

Tim and Jason look at them with a questioned look but decide to let it slide.

As I sitting silently, minding my own thoughts. Sari girl looks at me, walking up to me.

"Hello, sorry for what my silly brother has done. I hope you can forgive us."

She smiles.

I feel like being threatened somehow. Her presence is overwhelming.

"Uh- Uhmm."

I nod.

She then signed out of relief.

"Beside, choose what ever you want."

She takes my hand out of nowhere and lead me to the carriage.

Tim and the brothers tried to stop but seeing her good intentions they nod in approval.

"I-I can take whatever in there?"

I wanted to make sure...

"Of course!"

She smiles.

The merchant comes and unlocks the carriage door for us.

"Uriel! take the biggest thing!"

Tim yells

We entered the merchant carriage, Sari brother leave and now the two of us are together.

"Your name is Uriel?"

She asks which I nod in response.

"What a beautiful name, sound like you could be my sister..."

She let out a Snickers.

Inside there are various stuff. From antiques lamb, fountain pen, silvery utensils, just to name a few.

All of the stuff are classy, unfit for peasant like me and the people here. why do they sell it anyway?

I spotted a figure in the corner of my eyes. I flinch as I turn and see my own reflection in the big mirror.

"Wow...."

This is the first time I see my appearance!

Silver-white hair and big amber eyes like mother.

Altogether my hair are strangled and unkept, It look really beautiful.

"This is mirror. are you perhaps interested in it?"

Sari comes up to my side with a closed eyes smile.

This item only know amongst the aristocrat... how can someone like Sari and her brother posses it along with other Item?

I realized that the way the dress, how they act except her brother is very refined.

Perhaps...

They're noble in disguise...?!

"Ahem!"

Sari cleared her throats, gesturing me to continue looking for the Item.

This, that, those... They're exquisite, but not what I'm looking for...

What I'm looking for is something that I could use afterward.

After a whole hour or so has passed. Sari is now sleeping in the couch...

"If you find anything.... Pwase wake me upp."

She yawns before tugging herself back under the sheet.

Hmmm, I think I look at everything... I look at the the couch where Sari is sleeping.

A thick book was used as a pillow... I wonder how could she sleeps on hard surface like that thick book...

"Hey, I found it."

I tried to wake her up.

"Sari, hello?"

2nd tries.

For the third time, I pull a sheet out as she jumps from the couch and look at me.

"U-Uriel! You should've just told me!"

"I found what I wanted."

"What is it! What is it?!"

Her eyes filled with star indicate her excitement and a sense of relief.

I could see a word telling 'Finally' floating up from her head.

Pointing at the book behind her, I say.

"That, I want that."

Sari seems confuses, pointing herself In response.

"-M-Me?!"

"N-Nooo I mean, any Item!"

"N-Not you, Sari, I mean the book on the couch."

Sari's face flushes red, nodding and take the book for me.

***

"Hey, merchant! My friend going in there with your sister for too long! I can't wait any longer nowwww!!"

"How r- Ahem! I mean, please leave the ladies to mind their own business! They deserved all the time In the world!"

"All the time In the world?! I ain't gonna live my life waiting for her to come out on her own!"

"Don't stop me, Jason!"

*Bonk*

"Ack! S-Sorry..."

I thought they were as sleep like Sari, but they still as energetic as ever! How envious!

I hold a book as Sari unlocks the carriage for me to leave.

As I exiting the carriage, the welcoming sight of Tim keeling on the ground, getting scold by Jason.

"Ah, yo-you're out, Uriel."

Shey let out a enormous sighs of relief upon seeing me.

"Thanks you, Sari-san."

I thanks to the sister which wave it off, saying it's nothing with a smile.

"Let's me help you with that."

Jason offers to handles the thick book which is quite heavy upon noticed.

As the four of us are leaving, Sari call me once more.

"It's nice to see you too, Uriel-san."

She bid a goodbye as the merchant walk up to Sari and they seem to be chatting about something.

"Well! Look at you! Out of all the stuff, you choose this?"

Tim inserts himself between us.

"What is it by the way?"

Jason and Tim look at me, questioned.

"Well, It's not comfortable to unpack now... I mean, let's talk at home, okay?"

Beside, I'm used up all my stamina... being weak is suck.

According to Sari, she said that this is book about common to advance knowledge about the world, pretty much like Wiki.

She was really surprised tho. She asks me If I really want that multiple time, concerned. Why is it weird to take a book? It's not like I cannot read...

Read... book...

Aww, hell, I made a mistake! BIG TIME!

For the past 6 years I've never touch or even seen a book once! Let alone a letter of this world! Anyway, I haven't take a look at it yet, so there are some chance that that god blessed me with translator cheat.

The brothers look at me as a fire of hope and determination ablaze Inside my eyes.
