Right after the incident happened last night, we returned to our house.
Mom has been absent-minded ever since. As if there is something crossing her mind all the time.
I know It's regarding daddy, but that doesn't seem to be all.
Mom staring outside the window where dad will always be watering the corps every morning.
The trio didn't visits me too, It feel kind of lonely, and suffocating.
I clutched the hem of my dress, looking down on my lap. I can't wait like this, I need to find a way out, a good way out of this...
I get off the chair which prompted mom to ask me with concern.
"What's up, sweetheart?"
She asks.
I was thinking of visiting the plaza, I wanted to see the trio... But I couldn't said that, she wouldn't allow me.
"I wanted to go out for a little, Is that okay?"
Mom sighed and then smile.
"It's fine, you can go and meet the brothers."
"I'm sorry, I think It'll be better If you could see some friend."
She ruffles my hair, taking a piece of yellow flower, the Reviluit flower and pin it to my hair.
"If you see any strange person, please do not interact with them, okay?"
She pouts and looks away, resting her head on her palm.
"Okay, I got it mom!"
After that I decide to get ready and go out.
I could hear a sniffling as I closes the door shut behind. She seems to be crying ...
With determination In my eyes. With A will as solid as earth, I will surely get a way out for us!
After I walk about a minute I starting to feel tired and It's not helping with the sun high over my head.
I take a piece of cloth I took with me, tying it over my head to help with the heat.
The trail is different than las night. It's beautiful, lively, yet giving off ominous air.
"Oh, Uriel! Going on a stroll?"
A familiar face greeted me, Mr. Ron.
A middle-aged man with wolverine-like facial hair and hair style. He's close friend to my mother.
I smile, and nod.
"I'm sorry about what happened last night... I was there, yet I couldn't help your mother and father..."
Sorry for the things has happened, he apologized.
"It's not your fault, Mr. Ron."
After all, the villager a powerless against an armed soldier.
And Mr. Ron got a foamily too, his wife was just given a birth to a girl not long ago.
I look pass him and see what he's doing. A piles of wood block and an axe.
He's cutting a crazy amount of firewood... In this season?
"Why so many firewood, Mr. Ron? It's hot isn't it?"
He nervously smile, not expecting a child to ask him the question.
"W-Well, It's the Lord's order... He want a carriage of firewood ready before dusk..."
A freaking carriage-full of firewood In a day??!!!
My eyes widen as I heard the reason. This amount is easily can last more than a month!
"And what's worse, my hand is all sore and pain... It's sting every time I grab the axe..."
He must be chopping continuously for long...
I know of a solution to relieve the pain, but It's required ice... Refrigeration is not a thing In this world yet.
I wanted to help him...
"Haha, do not feel bad, Uriel. I'm taking a small break, maybe It'll help!"
At least I wanted to do something to make his work more bearable.
I take off the cloth from my head and tying it on his right hand. He filches as I touched the red palm of his hand.
"Ahh, you don't have to do this, Uriel."
I did not listen to him and finish the knot... This will help with the shock from the Impact... Not completely negating it, but slight reducing it to the hand.
"Please take care of your body, Mr. Ron!"
I remind him as he smile and thanks me.
I continue looking around the scenery as I walking to the plaza. Villager are minding their own task with some children are helping with work.
Without knowing, I reach the plaza. But today seem to be, more chaotic than ever.
Villagers gathered around something.
I decide to stray off the path and check it out
..
Maybe something really interesting is happening there.
"For only one copper, you say?!"
"I can't believe this kind of stuff! It doesn't look sturdy."
"It's the best price on the market, limited time by the way."
I squeezed through the crowd but got pushed out and landed on my butt.
"Och!"
That hurt! But from what I could hear from the conversation, It seems like a merchant.
Then a shadow loom over me. A boy looking down on me, offering his helping hand.
"What are you doing here, Uriel?"
Jason concerns, helping me on my feet.
Behind him were Tim and Shey, talking to a villager.
"Thanks."
I thanked Jason and dusted myself up.
"What's going on?"
I ask.
Jason rubs his hair and points to the crowd with a confused look.
I nod.
"I'm not sure. Maybe some people from the capital come?"
Yes, a not so useful answer. But I appreciated your kindness nonetheless.
"They're selling some strange things that they call 'tools'... Never seen any tools that look like that!"
Crossing his arm over his chest, he sighed.
It's really that weird? I could understand If it was something out of the ordinary. But Isn't that just a big scissors? Wait, that's the garden scissors?
"Woah, that's the biggest scissors I've seen! what does it do? cut a bigger cloth?"
Tim points at the tool display inside the glass box.
The crowd started to clear off as they lost their interest .
I could get a better view now. A fancy carriage that doesn't seem to fit for a merchant parked under the tree.
The carriage has various things hanging on display. But the bigger things are protected by a glass box.
"It is not for tailoring, boy. This the finest trimmer you'll ever get your hand on for the price of only bread!"
Tim looks around before taking a loft of bread from other kid.
"He-"
The kid surprised but swallowed his word.
"You mean this piece of bread?"
Tim innocently looks. at the merchant who now rubs his temple and sighs loudly .
"It doesn't work like that... I mean 1 copper coin!"
He makes himself clear.
"But you just said a piece of bread??? What is the matter with you!"
Tim yells as points the bread at the merchant like a sword.
"Stop it Tim, don't be rude to the merchant."
Jason stops Tim from further action.
"I'm not the wrong one! You-"
Tim spotted me.
I wave at him, smiling as sweat running down my nose.
It's hot as hell!!!!
"Uriel! You look like you're melting! Here! Rest rest!"
Tim shooed the kid whom he took. the bread before off the bench and offered it to me.
"H-Happy T-To see you, Uriel..."
Shey greets me.
"Ho? I was surprised what an angel she is..."
The merchant looks at me with a friendly smile, hand on his chin.
"I'm not done with you, uncle!"
Tim insert himself between me and the merchant.
I could see a spark in theirs eyes. Mann, such an energetic child and what a patient man...
The merchant is wearing a casual attire that doesn't seem far from what people are wearing in my day on earth.
Blue shirt, a pant with a silver belt, leather shoe, and a hat.
Wait, this do not sit right with me at all!! When looking at this age and era, this kind of style doesn't existed yet! Could he be the same as me?
The merchant notice me observing him, shifting his eyes, and smiles.
Why do I feel chill run down my spine?! Does it the girl's institute? What this they feel when someone creepily give you a smile?
"Stop being a creep you snake!"
Tim steps on his shoe as the man jumps and yelp in pain.
He doesn't seem to be upset or angry at all, but his smiles faded.
"C-Creep? Snake?!"
He whispered.
Oh, no... All of us know shit about to go down as the man emit some strange auras.
