#Chapter 120
Evelyn
Shame washes over me as I think about Michael. Of course, he would never know about this, but I feel humiliated.
Changing into one of Michael's old shirts I get ready for bed. Because for now, that's the closest I can get to him.
Warren sits beside me and strokes my hair as he watches me softly. His fingers play with my bangs and I love the feel of them occasionally brushing against my skin.
/"It's not your fault./" His eyes sweep over my face.
/"It feels like it./"
With a sigh, he takes off his watch and puts it on my side table. Drawing his eyes back on me he continues, /"it's not. You're following your heart./"
/"What if it leads me to heartbreak? He'll just say 'I told you so.' /"
/"Not this time./"
I close my eyes and wrap my arms around my front as I miss Miles. I know he won't be joining me tonight. He's mad at me for sending Michael away. He's smart enough to figure out everything.
