Nuzzling into my chest she breathes in and out as if trying to catch air. I let her do that on her own. Because I know she can.
As per Aiden's instruction, I don't crowd her with my touch. I just hold her. She's the one touching my arm and my chest.
/"Miles. He must be worried. I have to go home./" As if her train is leaving she tries to get off my lap but I stop her.
/"Let me take you home,/" I demand.
/"My car.../" Her coarse voice tugs my heartstrings.
/"I'll have Tristan drive it./"
Like a wounded bird she settles back into me and crawls into my heat and body.
Taking her in my arms I get to my car and sit inside with her.
I ask Aiden to get her stuff and he's quick on his feet. Handing her car keys to Tristan I order him to follow us.
The car ride is long as traffic is dense at this hour.
