#Chapter 53

Miles comes into my office and perches himself into my lap. My hand rubs his fur back and forth as I continue researching how to renovate the room we painted weeks ago.
Now that the walls have dried up, they look lovely. The first time I came into the room, a certain calm hugged me. I'm not going to lie. I was a bit hesitant with my choice of color, but in the end, it turned out greater than I expected.
Now the next task is to fill the room with furniture and decoration.
Miles nudges my jaw and I look down at him.
/"What's up Miles?/" I scratch his neck and his eyes droop in pleasure.
/"I love my work, but you're my number one./" Miles doesn't say anything but relaxes in my lap.
There was a time when he was just a pup and now he's a full-grown dog that makes my thighs ache if he sits on me longer than half an hour.
His fur is like an additional accessory to my outfits.
