#Chapter 100
Warren
Evelyn isn't coming.
It's half past ten and she's still at her apartment while I'm waiting in the parking lot for her.
I dial her number for the seventh time, listen to it ringing, and then get sent to voicemail.
Just as I'm about to enter the building, a car pulls into the driveway and stops with a screech. The blaring horn deafens my ears and I'm close to strangling whoever it is.
Grinch steps out wearing shades. His tall muscular physique is clad in a blue button shirt and black slacks. His eyes look back at his car and catch me in the periphery. In a second he's walking toward me with grave determination.
/"I've been meaning to talk to you./" Taking off his shades he hooks them in the front of his shirt.
/"More like threaten me./"
/"What's up with this Vermont shit? Why are you taking Evelyn there?/"
No wonder best friends are annoying. That's why I only have one.
