Synopsis
Why Fate is a fantasy romance that takes place in the beautiful city Brasov, Romania. A city and country already shrouded in myths and legends about the supernatural. Stories of vampires and werewolves began here and I wanted to bring the supernatural realm to Romania to tell a story of its own. Nemia Bohdan is a 28 year old tribrid, though she thinks she is only a hybrid. Being only part vampire and part werewolf. But as she digs up her past, and all the pain it comes with, she'll find nothing short of a heart stopping, mind numbing, miraculous truth. Dorian Volkov is the Lycan King of the supernaturals in Romania and well respected throughout the entire world of supernaturals. He is generally kind hearted and beloved, but when he meets the most confrontational, and mouthwatering, woman at the first mandatory meeting of the decade. Everything changed. She finds out what she really is and he finds his long sought out for mate. Will Nemia be able to come to terms with who she is and who Dorian wants her to be? Will Dorian be able to get Nemia to accept the mate bond and make her see the great things she is destined for? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ALSO! This is my first time ever writing a novel and actually attempting to publish one in any way. I would absolutely love to hear feedback from any and everyone of you that stumbles across this. Advice is also always welcome as well! I do so hope y'all enjoy!

Chapter 1 - Prologue: "10 years ago"

'Run. Just run, don't stop.' The racing thought was the only thing keeping the woman going. A tree cracked with a deafening sound behind her and to the left. She twisted her neck to throw back a glance at what happened. Wrong move.

She watched as a lifeless body crumpled at the base of the disturbed tree, a triumphant howl echoed from an obscenely large, muscular black wolf. A scar visible across his right eye and going over his snout. The girl slowed for a moment as she took in the features of the wolf and tried to decipher who the lifeless heap was. She inhaled deeply, catching the deads' fading scent.

Her eyes met the burly wolfs as reality struck. The Alpha... The wolf snarled, baring and nashing his teeth. That was enough for the girl. She took off then, dust kicking off behind her till she slipped into the denser part of the forest. Pain and fear kept her feet moving as tears threatened to blur her vision.

She continued running, keeping her ears pricked for anyone chasing her. She was afraid that the large wolf that had just killed the Alpha of the Silverbacks would come after her. He clearly had seen her running away. But to her surprise, only silence met her ears. Other than the normal noises one hears in the forest. Though, off in the distance, she could still hear the faintest sound of the chaos and death scene she had just fled from. But she seemed to be in the clear now.

The woman slowed her running to a light jog. She had fled with just knowing she needed to run but didn't know where to go exactly. She had just left the only home she had ever known. She slowed even more until she was barely walking. The grief in her chest swelling, threatening to swallow her whole. Until what could only be considered as shock dug it's claws in and all feelings emptied inside. Leaving her with an aching numbness in the pit of her stomach as well as her heart.

She continued the slow, solemn and pointless walking for hours till her feet was at the edge of a small river that flows through the opposite side of the forest. She dropped to her knees then. Exhaustion clawing every muscle in her body. She looks down and holds her hands out in front of her. They were covered in blood and dirt and started shaking as she stared. Tears started streaming down her face finally and let out a pain filled, heart wrenching scream which was only met by silence other than the rustling of birds flying off

Everything she knew was gone. Everyone she knew was gone. Her home was gone. "Why?" She sobs, over and over again. Soon, the pain turned to anger and she smacked down into the water before furiously scrubbing at her hands. Only feeling slightly satisfied as the last bit of blood and dirt vanished downstream from her. She looked down at her face in the reflection then. Seeing it from the morning suns rays piercing through the canopy of trees and reflecting off the water.

She sighed. Her emerald eyes were tear stained and her fiery red hair was frizzed and knotted. She even had to pull a couple of twigs from the messy mass of hair on her head. She washed her face off after then stared at herself for a moment longer. "Well, what are we to do now Nemia?" She asked herself.

Nemia stood after a moment and looked down at the state of her clothes. They were stained with blood, which she had expected, just like she expected the tears in her T-shirt and jeans. It was a fight getting out of the pack house and she had ran into her own trouble. But unlike the others, she couldn't shift at the moment, due to her coming of age transformation not being complete, so she had to fight as she was. But luckily she was a hybrid. Part vampire and part werewolf. Granted she was different. Most hybrids only possessed a handful of attributes from both species. She, on the other hand, possessed all qualities from both species. She never knew why and had never asked, though she suspected it had something to do with her unmet paternal parents.

"Well I can't go around in public looking like this." She said to herself as she stared down at her muddied boots. A moment later, she nods her head and starts walking again. After a short while she caught the scent of a couple of humans. From the scent, a male and female. Her path changed to the direction of where the scent was coming from. A few moments later, she came to the edge of a small camp. The tent was closed with rustling going on about inside. A soft moan lingered in the air and it caused Nemia's lips to twitch for a split second before she noticed a duffle bag on the tailgate of a truck.

Nemia crossed her fingers as she silently moved across the small camp ground to the truck. She sighed inwardly and her shoulders sagged with relief as she, quietly as she could, opened the bag which happened to be full of clothes. They were mixed together, both male and female clothes. The couple probably lived together from how this looked. Nemia picked out some jeans and a rockband shirt. The pants were definitely the human girls but the shirt was most likely the guys as the other feminine shirts would have never fit over Nemia's chest upon inspection.

Nemia made her get away then while the two human lovers continued on, oblivious to her presence. After she was out of their earshot range, she stripped down and changed into the stolen clothes, after making sure any wounds had already healed. The jeans hung low and snugly at her hips, thankfully too since she didn't have the means for a belt. The shirt was a little tight fitting over her chest but not uncomfortably so. After feeling comfortable with how she looked now, minus the fact she had no way to tame her hair, she headed out in the direction of a hiking path that was nearby if her speculation was right.

It didn't take long for her to reach the path. She stayed just out of sight of the path for a moment to ensure no one was on the path when she came out of the trees. After securing herself on the path, she started hiking as if that's what she had been doing this entire time. No sign of what she just ran from hours ago on her face aside from the disheveled, red hair she pulled back into a ponytail. Deciding along the walk that she would go to the council to report what had happened tonight and from there... Maybe she can offer her help to the council to help bring the lost pack to justice?
