A sudden knock on the door grabbed my attention. I opened it to find Ryder standing there, a mischievous smile on his face. It seemed like he had some exciting news to share.
"What's up?" I asked, curious but trying to act nonchalant.
Ryder leaned against the doorframe, giving me a knowing look. "You better start getting ready to leave my place. Adrian's back in town."
I shrugged, trying to downplay my excitement. "Well, it's not like I've been counting down the days or anything. No big deal."
Ryder chuckled, finding my attempt at indifference amusing. "Aw, you're adorable when you're trying to play it cool," he teased before walking away, leaving me feeling a bit embarrassed.
I shook off the embarrassment and quickly made my way to the bathroom. A quick shower was in order, followed by getting dressed. As the warm water cascaded down on me, memories of Adrian flooded my mind. I couldn't deny that I had missed him in my own way.
