As Freddy and Gabby were deadlocked in combat, Frederick made an unexpected move. With both hands on his spear, he started to pull it, but one hand went in one direction while the other went in the opposite. With all his strength, Mr. Ponytail snapped the body of his spear in half. This shocked Gabby, T.K., and any others still watching the battle. Now, Freddy's hands held two weapons, one with a blade and the other one he had just created.
Using the hand holding the bladed edge, he forced Gabby to block it, while with the other, he swung the broken half at her. "Smart," T.K. thought, and so did Gabby. She didn't expect this guy to pull off such a trick. Before the other half could hit Gabby, she used one of her arms to block the blow. When she did, she smiled and told Freddy, "Thanks for this." The line confused him, but soon he understood. Gabby grabbed the broken half, pulled him forward, and landed a straight kick in the middle of Freddy's stomach.
This separated the two, but not for long. The little girl with no time wasted rushed forward with blinding speed. Her opponent had to fight his own body not to keel over. Freddy's teeth tightened as he forced himself to attack. He swung the spear with the blade at Gabby with a swift motion. The girl parried the attack so quickly and strongly that it forced Freddy's hand back, but he didn't stop. He swung the other half of his weapon, but Gabby ducked under the attack, sliding on her knees. She zeroed in on his left leg, releasing a flurry of stabs into Freddy's leg.
Unspeakable pain hit the young man, and he couldn't help but scream out. However, the scream turned from pure pain to a roar of pure rage. Even with his leg stabbed, Fredrick steeled his resolve and swung at Gabby with the last bit of his strength. Gabby expected the attack. The moment Freddy swung his weapon, she stopped stabbing his leg, turned with her back facing Freddy, dodged the incoming strike without looking, and grabbed his arm. She pulled and flipped the young man over her like it was nothing. "God damn," came from one of the onlookers.
Gabby flipped Fredrick over, then slammed him hard into the ground. When it happened, Freddy's body was in shock, his vision became blurry, and he couldn't move. However, his opponent wasn't so restricted. Gabby, with quickness, planted herself firmly on his chest. Lifting her dagger high, Freddy's vision cleared up, and he saw the blade for a second. But it disappeared as the girl brought it downwards. Scared, Freddy closed his eyes, not wanting to see his death coming.
After a moment, he didn't feel himself dying. He opened his eyes and saw the girl looking at him coldly. Through the pain in his leg and back, he felt cold steel on his neck. The girl stopped her lethal attack just short, only cutting his neck slightly as the blade was pressed against it. Gabby sat on Freddy's chest for a while, not saying or doing anything. Even though she was inactive, the young man didn't make any sudden moves; he knew it would mean his own death.
The two stared into each other's eyes for a moment until Gabby opened her mouth and spoke. "It was a nice try; I'll give it to you. But you lost. Accept it with pride that you made it this far. I'm sorry; you're not going any further," Gabby said. The way she spoke these words, the way they sounded coming out of her mouth it was as if she were a grown woman hardened by years of battle, but she wasn't she was just a little girl. Staring at Freddy, she made him feel as if he wasn't looking at a little girl. "Now, admit your defeat, and you can walk away today with your life."
Freddy didn't answer Gabby at first; she could see he was holding back. His mouth would open, ready to say something, then he would fight himself and hold those unspoken words back. She could tell by the look in his eyes that he still had a few small embers of fight left in him. So, with that she leaned in closer until their faces were barely inches away from each other. "Just so you know," Gabby said in a whispered tone where only she and Freddy could hear, "I'm not opposed to killing you. I'm just trying to give you the easy way out. But don't mistake my kindness for weakness." Freddy couldn't help but stare deep into Gabby's eyes as she said those chilling words. To him, when he looked into those eyes, he could tell she was telling him no lies, none at all. She would kill him. In that moment, he knew it was true. So, as a tear fell from his eyes, he said loud enough for T.K to hear, "Ok, ok, I give up." The words willingly left his mouth, and he felt deep shame as they did easily the little girl snuffed out Freddy's last remaining embers. With that, Gabby got off him as T.K called out, "This battle is over by admission of defeat. The winner is Gabiurieru." Hearing this, Gabby smiled and jumped around in excitement like any normal little girl her age. The aura of lethality she gave off was gone; it disappeared as if it was never there in the first place. "I did it! I did it! I did it!" she shouted over and over, hopping around like a little bunny. She eventually stopped and threw up a peace sign at Freddy. "It was fun, Freddy bear, but I win," she gave him a genuine smile. Then, she made her way outside of the ring. Freddy just laid there until a small group of assistants made their way into the ring. They put him on a stretcher and led him out of the auditorium. As he was leaving, Freddy couldn't help that tears welled up in his eyes. The young man began to cry; the assistants transporting him said nothing to him. They didn't even look at him; they simply let him continue. After Freddy was gone and the ring was empty besides himself, T.K turned his attention to the female assistant that was holding the small box. Again, without him saying anything, the lady put her hand into the box and pulled out an additional two strips of paper. "The next applicants that will fight will be applicant 3360 Amethyst and applicant 9023 Dot," hearing her name and number being called, the young lady with purple hair started to stretch. "Ok, I guess it's my turn," she said as she smirked. She grabbed her rapier as she took steps toward the ring. The purple-haired young woman named Amethyst was ready for battle. Walking to the ring, Amethyst shot a look to the blonde-haired boy that she fought in the second phase, the young man who wanted her black armband but even with all his strength couldn't get it. She laid eyes on this young man and gave him a small smile then gave him a wink. The young man didn't respond; he only narrowed his eyes, but he did feel a bit of disappointment. He wanted to have a rematch with her. As Amethyst was stepping into the ring, so was her opponent. The purple-haired young woman turned and looked at her opponent, who was stepping in at the same time as her. When she did, she saw a young woman around her age with beautiful dark skin with an afro buff hairstyle. Her opponent, named Dot, wore a leather jacket with black spiked boots and a mini skirt with a leather bra. When the two made eye contact, Dot smiled at her. "Hey, let's make this fight one to remember." Amethyst smiled back, "Oh, I plan to." As the second match of the third phase was about to begin, we switch to the viewing room with Moon D and a handful of assistants. The announcer was yawning while his feet were kicked up. "Man, that last fight was boring. For some reason, I thought seeing a little girl beat up a grown man would be funnier. It turns out it was just sad." As the man sat back in his chair, a door to the room could be heard opening. Then, a voice was heard that caught the man's attention. "You know you really should take your job a little more seriously, Moondust." The announcer turned his head to look at the figure in the door. It was a massively large figure that had to duck their head to enter. What—or who—walked through the door was the beastman Angus, who had appeared in the first phase of the exam. As Moon D looked at him, he said, "Hey, beef patty, I thought you were dead."
