Neve fell to her knees.
She took a few deep breaths. Physically she wasn't tired. {Relentless} made sure she wouldn't be. Mentally, however, she was exhausted.
[Is it...?]
"I tried, you know?"
A voice suddenly spoke up.
Neve looked to her left.
Aphria was, of course, still alive, even though Neve had gained the EXP from the fight already.
"I did everything in my power to save this world."
"I believe you," Neve said. The healer went to sit by Aphria's side, not minding the way her outfit absorbed Aphria's blood.
"From..." She coughed. "From the first fight to the last, I gave everything I had for my people. And, I never asked for anything in return, other than their safety. Even now, I only fought you because I hoped that if I won, the people who brought the Unity Trials to us would smile upon me, and save this city. Instead... Well..."
She looked at Neve with a warm smile.
