Anger. There is no other emotion as powerful as anger, at least that's what a certain entity believes. The universe is a great mystery to many, those from earth as well as those from other worlds. And there are those who wish to rule it, while other's wish to destroy it. This is an adventure you have never seen before, and it starts with a young man by the name of Kai.
Behind a building in a certain college, there were 9 silhouettes seen involved in a fight that had broken out. A closer look revealed that it was not just a simple fight but rather a bullying session in process. An unfair situation where it was one against seven with a bystander on the side. The name of this unfortunate man is Kai. A young adult around the age of 22, wearing tight jeans, a brown jacket with a T-shirt inside and a pair of black sports shoes. This is a normal occurrence to him as he is in fights countless times, however he always ends up scaring them off without much conflict before any teacher or adult. Normally he would exert this much effort when his machines malfunction and combust in flames at a workshop he had built within an abandoned gym he had. Today however, he was on the verge of unleashing absolute hell on an idiotic bunch of fools and the reason shall soon be told. Surrounded by the college's sports club member's and about to fight against all 7 of them with one witness/fake victim, he couldn't help but wondered how he ended up in this situation again as he couldn't help but think how his day had started.
It was 5 Am when Kai has just woken up to the sound of one of his inventions, a mechanical bird singing a tune as the sun had peaked from the horizon. "Alarm off." He grunts as he gets up from bed moving his black hair back, and heads to the bathroom to freshen up. He does his daily laps around the gym and does his morning workout. After a cold refreshing shower, he Soon making his way down the flight of stairs and heads to the kitchen to make some breakfast. Nothing fancy, just some bread and eggs. "Guess I should shop for more groceries." he sighs as he picked the last pair of eggs from the basket.
After having breakfast in silence, he gets ready and heads to his college on his bicycle. After he arrives, he locks his bicycle to a rail and head towards the entrance. Kai dreads as he looks around noticing the variety of students heading to the halls. Most of these students are rich kids who have no value whatsoever in terms of money and normally get what they want.
Only a few people who are here are genuine like Kai. The only reason he made it here was because of his decent grades and extra projects he had done in high school, getting him into a well-rounded college.
The discrimination was severe as a result due to Kai not being of a wealthy status, but he merely only hardened in response to their harsh treatment. The teachers are fair to everyone but cannot punish those in the wrong as they could lose their job by the students' parents.
"This world shall never forgive those for being born weak and will only push you down deeper into the abyss." Were the first words Kai spoke once he realized how reality truly is. With that in mind he deals with his daily ordeals in a mannerly and appropriate way as much as possible over the last 2 years.
Today however, felt weird for Kai as he felt something was off. The fact that everyone was glancing at him every now and then only pushed him to the edge. "They're opinion doesn't matter; I'll make it on my own. It's best I avoid such needless bantering and focus on my work." Is what Kai kept on telling himself as a way to quell his annoyance.
Of course, it doesn't end there, it never does.... There are a few days where some of the senior boys from the Football team "try" to vent their anger for losing a game or personal issues on Kai in a more physically manner, but he puts up a good fight and dissuades them immediately. Normally it was always three vs one situation but despite losing most of the time, their pride is too much for them to give up and they keep coming back. One day however, the leader of the group by the name of Lin sung arrives at his classroom door when the final class ended.
"Is Kai Kwan in this classroom?" Lin asks. After a few seconds, Kai proceeds to get up after packing his things into his bag. This is the first time the leader of the group those three misfits belong to show up. Knowing something was off, Kai was alert and asked while meeting his gaze. "What do you want Lin." The rest of the people in the classroom felt uneasy as the atmosphere felt tense and felt like a fight would break out.
"I just want to have a small chat with you is all, at the back of the campus." Lin speaks while placing his hand on Kai's shoulder and giving a light squeeze ad turns to leave. Lin left the class and Kai followed knowing that it's best to deal with this now than later. Following a fair distance from Lin, Kai keeps his guard up and watched his surrounding already expecting an ambush soon.
Once they were outside the main building, they made their way behind the main building where Lin made a left turn around a corner and Kai followed. Kai's instincts were right on the dot as he was met face first with a metal bat as soon as he turned the corner. But in a split second, he blocked the attack while simultaneously grabbing the bat and moving to the side, yanking the jock's lackey towards Kai, he immediately delivers an elbow to his face and knocking him out in an instant. With the attacker's weapon in hand, he drops his bag and braces himself for another attack.
"So, this is your definition of having a small chat huh". Kai spoke in a disappointing tone while looking out for more surprise attacks.
Lin proceeds to move back and lean next to the campus compound wall as four more other people from his football team show up from different corners, one of them even jumped from the first-floor window. "Talk about being dramatic." Kai deadpans in his mind.
"You shouldn't have tried to steal her Kai." Lin replies with a hint of aggression in his words. It soon dawned on Kai as to why Lin showed up.
Earlier that day, the leader of the cheerleading group and the socially popular girl of the year by the name of Lily had approached Kai in between of the classes and asked a rather odd question.
"Hey Kai, I was wondering if you could help me get my notebook from that top shelf." A popular girl by the name of Lily asked in an innocent way. "How did it reach there and why are you asking me?" Kai asks without moving his focus from his notebook for a second. In all honesty, Kai found the girl rather annoying as he knew it was all an act since he could easily tell people's true nature from their eyes and body language. "She's not even that special in all honesty, just using her family name and looks to get what she wants. Expecting everyone to just do what she asks as long as she pretends that she cares and plays the vulnerable card. Disgusting." Kai thought.
"Well, my friends pulled a prank on me and kept it there to watch me struggle since I'm not exactly tall enough to reach and grab it Ya know." Lily spoke.
"Fine, I'll help you." Kai replies while proceeding to get up and get the notebook. He does so and gives her back the book. Lily proceeds to get a bit physical, and Lin sees this from outside the classroom door in the hallway. Lily of course knew he would be there and had planned this so as to make Lin beat up Kai as Kai had constantly been refusing to go on a date or be his boyfriend for the past 2 years now. Lin was just a pawn, and Lily the game master. Unfortunately, Kai was not going to play by her rules.
Realizing that this was all a scheme by Lily he tries to inform Lin of their misunderstanding. "Lin, Lily is scheming this whole charade just to get revenge on me for not being her next boy toy. She's making a fool out of you! Let's stop this right now!" Lin was not bothered listening to what Kai had to say, blinded by rage and teenage hormones, he signaled the rest to attack him.
Now back to the present, Kai realized that he won't listen and analyzed his opponents before the fight had ensued. The two behind him were the weakest with only agility but no speed or much strength compared to the rest and the ones in front were the strongest (juggernauts), while the ones on each side where decently built and had some speed (Side jocks). After assessing the best way to take out the group of opponents all he had to do was wait. It didn't take long as they charge at him simultaneously, but he manages to dodge them all by rushing between the two juggernauts causing them to slam against each other and some collapse. Still not giving up, the jocks immediately get up and charge at him again. "Idiots" Kai whispers.
He starts off by dodging the unrefined attacks the agile pair were throwing at him and took them both out in a swift double kick on one opponent followed by a spinning back kick. "That's two down, five more" Kai counts. Immediately he pulls back and into a safe spot keeping his enemies in front, the two juggernauts approach him at a surprisingly fast pace for their size. Using their own weight against them he redirected a punch towards one of side jocks, knocking him out instantly. Before the second weakest one could react, Kai performed a swift back kick and took out the second one. Once the 4 opponents were out, he turned to face the two toughest ones, but he gets hit hard in the stomach. "Ugh!" He gasps in pain as they hold both his arms and restrain him while he's on his knees. Looking up, he sees Lin grinning while Lily appears from a corner arriving with a similar mischievous grin.
"One happy about "teaching me a lesson" thinking with his dick and the other just being a fucking whore." Kai thinks.
"Is this really how u plan on solving all your issues? You all really need to prioritize your goals and stop thinking with your balls. If You're this gullible falling for stupid tricks from a rich brat like her then you might as well as just hand over your family wealth in the process." Kai spoke in a deceivingly quiet but and mocking tone as he was starting to get annoyed by the situation.
"I never asked for your opinion Bitch!" Lin responds while delivering a right hook to Kai's jaw. Kai hit the ground but the two jocks holding his pulled him back up on his knees. Kai didn't react to the pain. His anger was far too great to bother diverting his attention to the silent drop of blood that fell to the ground. The leader was keeping a close watch on him until he pulled back and approached him with an amused look before kicking dirt onto his face. No reaction. This hurts his ego which makes him grab Kai by the collar and shove him to the wall behind him now with both arms pinned by the two jocks.
"What's with the silent treatment Kwan!? You think we'll just leave u alone if u don't react to our hits!" Lin barks while hitting him in the chest. Knocking the air out of Kai's breath. Kai swore that he wouldn't do anything too rash and played it cool despite their constant taunts at him as this would be his third strike and he would be expelled for "starting a fight" as their college director kindly warned him against. "I'm better than them, they're just a bunch of jackasses. I'm better than that." Kai chanted to keep himself from falling for their obvious bait, Until.
"Weak, just like your parents huh. No wonder they died so soon, couldn't handle having a weak spawn like you in their lives and probably ended themselves making it look like an accident." At that moment, Kai snapped. He instantly broke free from the two lackeys grip and knocked them back with two swift kicks. Now charging at Lin he grabs the metal bat off the floor by kicking it into the air and knocking a few other jocks attempting to stop him.
"what's with this brat, he shouldn't be able to move like that after the beating we gave him. A last burst of energy like a wounded and cornered rat I see. Fine, I'll just break an arm or two and see how he fairs." Lin thinks with a sinister smirk on his face.
Using a series of both defensive and offensive skills he had self-taught himself over the years, Kai took them out at ease. His eyes craving bloodlust and a dark burning flame within seems to fade in and out, Lin avoids his gaze and steps back in shock. "what's the fuck was that!?" Lin screams in fear and panic but tries to hide it. "My eyes are playing tricks with me" Lin reasons with himself while Lily was not concerned at all and was berating the jocks for failing clearly disappointed.
In less than five minutes, Kai had just taken out all of his opponents and was showing no sign of stopping. Lin and Lily were frightened but Lin was hiding it better between the two and decided to play the "Hero card". "Kai, I've been taking it easy on you, but now I'm going to make sure that you will never forget this day." Lin challenged Kai.
Kai stops his run and stands still in a menacing way. "Oh, I'll remember this day alright, because I'm going make you take back what you said. The condition of your body in which you do ask for forgiveness however is your choice to make. So go ahead and try bitch!" Kai Shouts.
Now both Teens in an equal distance from each other and in their own battle stance, Kai drops his bat which surprises Lin and Kai takes advantage of that and charges at him in a single burst of a leap. But Lin manages to block his attack and counter attacks with a straight punch. "Ugh!" Kai grunts still hurt despite blocking his counterattack in the last second, but he immediately goes for a side swipe which knocks Lin's balance and now Kai was on top of him. With both of Lin's arms pinned by Kai's legs, he was at his mercy. With no hesitation Kai brings down a fury of punches to Lin's chest and face. Lily gasps in shock and runs to call the teacher in panic. This distracts Kai for a split seconds which gives Lin a chance to knock Kai off of him and get back up. Still disoriented, Lin keeps his guard up and tries to gain his balance on his feet. Kai gets up and notices that the bat was close to Lin. Noticing his line of sight, Lin spots the bat and picks it up. "Looks like you know how to have a fun chat huh." Lin compliment's him now feeling more confident with a weapon in hand.
"Don't think that weapon will help you." Kai replies while raising his fists. Lin charges this time but Kai had already predicted his movements and dodges his barrage of swings easily through a series of side steps. Frustrated, Lin tries to go for his legs, but Kai blocks it with his leg and knocks it out of his hands while simultaneously proceeds to go for a round kick, hitting Lin on his waist and he collapses on the ground. "You fu-" Lin wheezed, breaking into a coughing fit as Kai's kick did more damage than he had thought.
Kai approached Lin while he's down on his knees still coughing and kicks him in the face. Kai approaches him one more time and Lin opens his eyes to see death staring at him. "Congratulations You gave that weapon a disability by being it's wielder."
Meanwhile, Lily is rushing through the hallway and enters the head director's office in panic. The director looks shocked and immediately gets up to console her asking her what happened while handing her some water to drink. After calming down a sinister thought comes to mind. "Sir, it's Kai! He asked me to come to the back of the main building after class and tried to force himself on me !!!" Lily replies shedding fake crocodile tears. "But Lin tried to help me, but Kai suddenly started hitting him and now they're both fighting !!!" Lily weeps. The director Becomes furious and ask's her to wait here while he leaves to intervene this chaos. Lily on the other hand immediately stops her act and couldn't help but smile wickedly, impressed at her performance and how gullible the director was.
Back to the fight, the other Jocks wake up and try to recollect what had happened before but were swiftly reminded once they caught sight of the cause of this conundrum and where terrified. Kai was seen performing a series of punches on Lin who tried to defend himself but having already a few broken ribs, a broken nose and an injured arm, he could not defend against it all. With no sign of Kai holding back, Kai was out for blood and didn't hold back his punches like before. "How dare you speak about my parents like that !!!" Kai screams in his mind still throwing a barrage of punches. His attack ends after delivering a high kick on Lin's head.
On the floor again and disoriented, Lin couldn't help but wonder. "I made a mistake; Kai was not an easy target. But I couldn't just let him take Lily away from me, that bitch is mine and only mine! I have to make sure he never thinks of flirting with her ever again!" But that thought vanished immediately after he came back to reality and realized that Kai was standing in front of him. Lin shut his eyes and waited for an attack that never came, he opened them to realize that he was waiting. Lin, frozen in fear was overthinking believing that he was waiting for him to make a move so he could counter it and show him his place.
Tired of waiting and with fear from overthinking, he yelled. "Come on, hit me! What are you waiting for!" Lin demanded. "LIN! KAI! Both of you in my office now!" Lin looks behind him to see the Director there, pissed and not in the mood for excuses. He looks around to realize that his other friends had run away at some point and where nowhere in sight. Slowly getting up, he sees Kai already on the way to the office and the Director soon follows as Lin passes by him.
At the director's office, the director is furious and giving the death glare at both Lin and Kai who were standing on the other side of his desk. Kai chose to stay silent and reserved while Lin was glancing at Lily mentally asking her what she did. Lily simply winked at him while playing her victim card. The director finally spoke, the time went by from 4pm to 6pm and Kai was the first to leave. He was kicked out from his college. "Damn it, another setback." He sighs in disappointment. To summarize what happened, the director asked all three of the students present to explain their side of the story. Lily spoke first so as to give Lin an idea on what to say when it's his turn. As sharp as a venomous snake, she said the same thing she had mentioned previously in more detail and made it seem as though Kai was the villain. Lin foolishly thinking that Lily was trying to get them both out of the situation agrees to Lily's claim and wraps his story with Hers.
"These bastards have it for me. No matter. I don't regret a thing I did and whatever happens next, I shall never falter." Kai reasons with himself and proceeds to give his explanation despite knowing that his fate was already sealed before he spoke his first words.
Upon hearing the different sides to the encounter, the director looks a bit sad and makes his verdict. "Due to the numerous counts of warning's given to the student by the name of Kai Kwan, and the number of witnesses/victims present to back up these claims, it has been decided that from this day fourth, Kai shall no longer be a part of this establishment and is to grab his belongings and leave by tomorrow morning."
The two partners in crime have a silent laugh at their success. One at getting her revenge and the other in believing that now there is no one else in his way to get the girl he desires. As for Kai, he didn't say a word as he understood the director's position.
As the three people leave, the director can be seen looking at his laptop revealing that he had been reviewing the footage from a hidden camera in the back of the main building this whole time which supports Kai's claims. It was not just this one video however, rather a whole folder of evidence that support's Kai's claims for multiple situations where he was on the receiving end. "I am sorry my boy. But despite my appearance, I am far weaker than you. I have failed you and I can only hope that you shall find a better place and that one day you shall forgive me."
He despaired, as he deleted the folder filled with the evidence and closes the surveillance software. He opens his email to show that Lily's father had sent him a message, threatening to shut down his entire college if he did not punish Kai and have him expelled. As he looks out the window, he sees a storm is approaching and can only wonder how the young man shall move on.
Kai made it back home after buy some groceries on the way. He decided to not work at his part time job at a warehouse today as he was not in the mood. "Alright, guess I should take another shower." He put his dirty/bloody clothes into the washing machine and went upstairs to take a hot shower.
"Now what?" He questions himself in the shower as his fire dwindles and is washed away. After freshening up, Kai goes back downstairs and sits at his worktable. " I suppose continuing my working on that prototype for a propulsion cannon should work as a good distraction." Kai spoke trying to cheer himself up. He stayed up most of the night without having dinner as well, until it was around 3 Am.
"Damn thing isn't working." Frustrated, he paused for a moment and couldn't help but wonder what his childhood was like.
Kai Kwan, a rather odd name indeed, but one cannot blame him as he had made up his second name. Kai was only a mere child when he had lost his parents due to an accident due to a bizarre green lightning striking his parents car when they were on their way home, he was the only one who survived but had hit his head therefore losing part of his memory of that night as well. He had no other family members, neither did he want to stay with anyone else as he couldn't trust anyone. There, he ran away from the accident that night and was on the streets for years. The only thing he could recall is that they used to be scientists for a massive corporation back in the day which was why he had a passion for science.
The First few years following the accident was the hardest naturally, a weak child out in a world with no one to trust didn't stand much chance. But Kai was no ordinary child. Indeed, he had his intellect and a sort of sixth sense which assisted him in escaping from dangerous scenarios repeatedly. With his unique gift, he managed to get around throughout the day hiding from the authorities and finding food and water through unconventional means.
It wasn't until he was around the age of 12 when he had found an abandoned gym located a few km away from a college, a rather convenient scenario for him. He had found a place to work in some rather shady places at first but had managed to upgrade his home to a more, reasonable living condition. He attended high school and then went on to college, until now. "I wish things were different." He sighs to himself as he gets up to go to bed and think of what to do in the morning.
As he turns off the light's and was making his way upstairs, he notices the Tv turning back on but was showing a dark green screen. Confused he moves closer until; a mist starts coming out. Almost as if there was no glass screen on the tv, he sees shadows move within the mist. Panicked, he grabs a nail gun beside the table and goes closer. Suddenly a giant tentacle jumps out and hits Kai. On the floor and terrified, he grabs the nail gun and shoots at the tentacle. "What the fuck!" Screaming in fear, he tries to run but more tentacles shoot out and wrap around him. In an instant it starts dragging him across the floor towards the Tv screen. "Get off!" He struggles but in vain. Eventually in a single motion, it pulls him in, and his screams fade out as the mist disappears, the Tv screen breaks and the once occupied gym was now abandoned once again.
