Philippe remained where he was; however, his expression has changed. His eyes, which were dark and sharp earlier, and his brows, which almost met in the middle, were replaced by a shocked and puzzled expression.
"What did you say?" he asked, and Serafina smirked, masking the pain that was slowly killing her.
"You don't believe me, do you? I would not believe me either; after all, I lived as if I had no single memory of my early childhood. I perfectly played the dumb and innocent role; I have deceived you all. I wanted to beat you—I wanted to be on the top. I wanted to become the rightful heir to the company—that was my plan! But then..." Serafina let out a defeated sigh as the tears that she had been holding back since earlier began flowing down her cheeks. "I blew it off. I had forgotten about all of it because of you. I fell in love with you, Philippe, even though I knew I shouldn't."
