Sweetie watched ahead at the waves. Unlike a train, the ship had a front view of being out there in the water. It was an incredibly different feeling. The way the water flowed back and forth beneath the ship was also different.
Her new home was somewhere out there. She could see no new sign of anything. It was just beautiful waves and ocean as far as her eyes could see. Her children were playing around the ship, apparently liking the sensations of the water.
Devin? She hadn't seen him wearing a smile that big before. Had he ever smiled like that before at all? He was eager to go home and get away from it all.
He scooped up her daughter and placed her on his shoulders. "What do you think of everything?"
She was just so happy with him. She said "Ma ma!" excitedly and then howled.
Sweetie knew that was coming. She howled when something emotional was happening, good or bad. Sweetie was used to that sound from her.
