"I'm sorry, about what I said," she said again. "I am. I am and I'm not," she said. "Why didn't you research stuff before coming on that train? Researching something so basic?"
Yeah. "It was just a quick gig," he told her again. "I had no idea what would happen. I regret it, and I promise that I will make it up to you."
"You are taking care of us," Sweetie remarked. "Even though they are not yours. You are already doing and promising so much. I'm not . . . as sweet as I used to be," she admitted. "I only seem to be. With my bastards all gone, and new people in the house that I don't know, I need to get us out as soon as it's safe. It's not a stretch for me to play that way."
