Chapter 25 - The Ad

Billy watched Devin try to spend some time with his children, but he clearly didn't know how to act with them yet. He was mainly watching them, probably trying to figure things out in his head. He fluttered between going outside to the girl, and back inside to the boy, but he was called away. He left with everyone to outside of the house.Last details to everything.

"So I'm glad I never joined your team," Billy said casually as they walked. "I am guessing you are putting in for another job, right?"

"I am going to meet my boss." Devin said slowly. "Then, I'll do something." It sounded like he didn't know how to handle things yet.

"I need to call up my boyfriend," Lily insisted to Devin. "I can't just do this show without telling him he has nothing to worry about." She brought out her bright purse she brought with her.

Billy snatched it. "Wait until we get all the details before you blab about anything. They might have some condition clauses we don't know about." No use screwing Devin over like that.

Devin was told to go with his boss alone and handed Grayson a bunch of money. They were supposed to go get some nice clothes since they didn't bring anything. Great, him and Grayson were stuck shopping.

Grayson and he took a chunk of the money and bought things in a particular store that wouldn't sell anything too cheap. The women also took their part and went to do their own thing. When Grayson and he were done, the women were finishing up.

Okay. Lily's colors were definitely bright. She was finishing up paying for her stuff. "You could blind people you know."

Lily just rolled her eyes. "I like wearing orange and yellow. You like wearing whatever you like and I don't drag you down about it."

"Yeah, because I'm not blinding people with what I wear," he pointed out. "You dress like an egg. Literally, even your white has bright spots in it."

Oh, that earned him a glare accompanied with a growl. "I don't dress like an egg."

"It's the same colors."

"Do you work on being this irritating or is it just natural?" she complained as she picked her things up.

"I think it's just natural," he teased. She was just a strange one. People usually had a mix of colors in their wardrobe, she strictly had white, orange and yellow. "You are what you eat I guess."

"Then you should be in brown," she muttered to him as she picked up her bags.

"Could you two please stop fighting?" Jill complained.

"I am not fighting," Lily argued. "I am buying clothes that I appreciate, and he is the one making fun of them. If anything, I am standing up for myself and my values."

"You just finished calling me a piece of shit," Billy pointed out.

"No, you said you are what you eat. You are inferring that," she just smiled. "Terrible self view, William. You probably want to work on that."

What? "Hey, I don't think I'm a piece of shit." She just shrugged at him. "That was you. What else would brown be?"

"Billy. Let's just get going to see what Devin has to say," Grayson said.

Jill was simply next to Grayson, nice and quiet, just waiting for them to settle down.

Devin stared at his boss.

"Does it make sense now?" His boss asked.

"Yeah." He went ahead and phoned the others to come down to the address he was at. Now, he had the full scoop. There was something hollow in the 'making allies with Wolf Islands' line Mad had given him before.

This. This wasn't hollow. They didn't want any risk of any cameras nearby, show started yet or not, when he found out the truth.

As the others came by, he escorted them to the monitor that his boss had showed him. "Okay, everyone." He took a deep breath. "Watch the ad for the show."

"Home Sweet Never Home," a voice said as it panned around the huge mansion they would be living in. "It has a strange and awful secret among four women. We know that at least one?" It panned to the boy smiling at the camera and to the girl outside. "Their sweet mommy." It panned to Destiny looking out of the corner of her eye. "Is a shapeshifting werewolf."

"Over 200 men have confined and kept her safe from the outside world along with the children, but the news is out. If mommy is a werewolf, then shouldn't she be executed? By all the laws we stand by, yes, but times are changing. Rules are changing. For the first time in network television, we are using the camera to see not just who momma ends up with?

We are going to see if werewolves are as dangerous as we have been lead to believe. Home Sweet Never Home. Is a shapeshifting werewolf fit to live in a house and have a life among us?" Another pan between the boy and Destiny. "Or should they only stay outside?" A pan over the girl in cub form playing tug of war with Juniper. "Or will they be fit to live free at all?" An animation of cell bars appeared on screen. "Will the past come back to haunt us again? Are there more werewolves hiding in this overstuffed den? Will the law let more werewolves hiding in this house slide by?

"Four women. Four guards. 200 men. Two kids. This year, Home Sweet Never Home will be the place to sit down, pull out the popcorn, and watch the drama unfold. With unexpected guests promising to show up, there's no telling what's going to happen in this crazy house!"

Yeah. He noticed their faces.

"They know about the real werewolves?" Mattie asked him first. "They think Destiny is one?"

"Wolf Islands hasn't had a shapeshifting werewolf occur on its islands," Devin muttered. "Since they themselves were exiled from the full humans, they are giving her and the kids a chance to live. They'll be watched. Day by day. To see how they are doing in each environment. Since they aren't going to execute Destiny and the children, they are deciding what to do with a shapeshifter through the lens of the show."
